They're past was intertwined since the beginning, they had never planned on losing each other until the night of the herd. They were left thinking the other was dead, until the day they found each other again. And nothing would be the same for them again.

...in which she thought she had lost him forever, leaving him to become a distant memory. but that quickly changed when she came face to face with him when her world was altered forever. he thought she wouldn't be a problem, but she was no longer the girl he knew. She was a forest fire and he was just simply a tree in the way of her wrath.

my heart won't start anymore for you, 'cause you're
losing me.

GEORGIE WALSH had been cast away by her father since the moment she was born. The moment Reece Sinclair told her boyfriend of four years that she was pregnant, the man immediately rushed out the door, leaving the young woman to face her pregnancy alone. She took it with grace and not even nine months later, a beautiful baby girl was born. Georgie was the shining light in her mother's dark and depressing world. Georgie was the woman's only family, Reece had previously lost a significant amount of her family throughout the years to the point where she had none left. So for thirteen years, it was just Reece and Georgie, and they wouldn't have it any other way.

All until her mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. The time that they once thought was forever, was cut to a matter of months. Georgie refused to come to terms that her mother wouldn't make it to the end of the year. She couldn't think of her life ever without her mother in it. If she was gone, her life would be altered forever. And that's exactly what happened. Georgie tried to keep up the two's normalcy until the last day of her mother's life, but it was hard. The sunshine, the thing Georgie most admired about her mother, faded away with each day. The colorful light her mother had, was starting to dim. And no matter what Georgie tried to do, nothing could stop the inevitable.

The day the sunshine completely left her mother, that was the day a bit of Georgie died. Watching her mother take her last breath, was something Georgie couldn't process. The tremendous loss came crumbling down around her. The family she had created with her mother was no longer there, she couldn't have the same life anymore. She was living someone else's life as she watched from the side. The funeral, moving out of their apartment, her home, nothing felt quite right anymore.

Getting shipped off to live with her father certainly didn't make it any better. Her estranged father never had a solid impact on her life, with his random interruption once a year, Georgie was never fond of the man. And now with living with him permanently, Georgie was confident that she did not like her father. His controlling personality to his blatant disregard and treatment of women only solidified how much she disliked the man. Things seemed like they were only going to get worse as time went on. And she was completely right.

Watching the world burn and get destroyed wasn't something she would've ever expected. Having to deal with the dead rising gave a new fear to rise within Georgie. She no longer worried about colleges and getting valedictorian, she feared for her life and wondered what day would be her last. She didn't know how she felt about this new world, she hated how the world order shifted into this barren wasteland filled with people and monsters trying to get her.

She thought she lost the idea of a family forever, but it wasn't until she met the people that she began surviving with, that she found the true meaning of it. She found the people that would put their lives on the line for her as she would do the same for them. And surviving together brought her closer to people than she ever thought she would see. She found the meaning of being human, finding how everyone is different and how the differences help in the end. Even through all the losses, she knew that these people would never let her down. All until him.

He was her savior, her friend, her first love. He had come into her life like a whirlwind and forever altered her heart and soul. And he exited just the same. She thought she had lost him forever, she said goodbye to her other half a long time ago. But then she saw him again. On the third worst day of her life, the second being his supposed death. She saw his familiar face once again, but this time there was a malice, a darkness that she had never seen before. Georgie ached for him to be the boy she once knew, but watching his sadistic smile as her friends around her died, she knew he was gone forever. Or so she thought.

Her mother taught her to forgive and forget, but watching as he did absolutely nothing to save their friends, she knew it would be a lot harder to do what her mother wanted. Like him, she was no longer the girl he once knew. The rebellious sweetheart he loved was now a bold wildfire, bound to burn down everything he had known for the past two years. As he stood there and watched, he couldn't figure out if he had been waiting for her to find him and do that all along.

hi I've had this in the drafts for like ever, and I'm really excited to write something like this. It's a little different than the twd fics I usually make. Since the time jump is quite severe. But that's what I'm so excited abt.

Georgie and hayden are so amazing and complex couple due to the fact they go from friends to lovers all the way to complete enemies to lovers again. The character change of both characters is going to be so exciting to write because they're going to be so different from how they were in the beginning.

And I only own the plot lines of Georgie, Hayden, Mandy, Andy, and Cecila. I own nothing of the rest of the TWD characters and the overall plot of the show. All rights reserved to the creators of The Walking Dead.
