I always knew I was different. I wasn't born normal. And in turn, was the cause of me being whisked away at such a young age to a lab where I would be a test subject for the rest of my life. My parents weren't equipped to handle what I could do, accomplish. They feared me.

"Well done 007. I'm so proud of you." Papa practically applauded my efforts on finding a man he so desperately wanted to know the location of, one who clearly held the answers he had been seeking on what they were trying to accomplish in the lab itself. The oddities, as we were called. Ones with powers. We weren't fully understood. But Papa wanted to know more than anything how we worked.

"Now 007, you've shown so much promise since you've been here. I want that to continue." I simply nodded, wiping away the blood trickling from my nose to the ground below from extreme exhaustion of my powers. Telekinesis was my game, along with telepathy I hardly used on anyone. Except for one person In particular. 001. Being two years older than I, we've actually grown a bond since I've shown up. Time had seemed to fly, growing together within the walls of the lab we had reluctantly called home.

"You're free to go to the rainbow room." Was all he said before I was escorted to said room, noting 001 was sitting on the floor in front of the board we always moved the ball around in to the final destination, our mind doing all the work.

"Henry....?" I softly sat next to him, our knees colliding in the middle once I got comfortable enough. We'd grown from kids, to teenagers in the blink of an eye together, and in the whole madness, I fell. I fell so deeply for him and I knew this. I knew it wouldn't be tolerated by Papa. But I couldn't hide how I felt around Henry. We called each other by our real names when it was just the two of us.

"He took them....." Beneath his blond hair, was now a mark on his neck that indicated what he was suggesting. A chip that halted any and all abilities from working. Papa had taken that from him. And he looked and sound spiteful.

"Henry..... I'm so sorry. Papa just doesn't understand you. He's afraid of what he doesn't understand. You know he wants all the control." Finally, his icy blue eyes landed upon me in an instant, hatred crashing down like the harshest waves imaginable from one glance. Papa knew Henry's power was the strongest he'd ever seen. I didn't know much of his past before the lab, other than his entire family died, leaving him all alone. I came a little while after him once I was surrendered for being called a threat. I had thrown my dad across the room when he tried hurting my sister. And that was the end for me.

"I know. But he won't always have it, Audrey. He won't. And he'll find that out one day."

I leaned against the wall of my usual room that had been mine since the day I arrived, my heart racing in anticipation for the time Henry would show. Papa didn't know anything was happening between us. No one did, except for our friends. It had been since we were teenagers. He had quickly become my entire world.

"Let me in Aud." Henry's voice echoed within my mind, having the ability to hear him at any given time. I quickly opened the door to let him in, his white attire brightly illuminated within the lighting of the lab, along with my white dress I found myself having to wear more often than not when on duty watching the kids.

"Hi Henry." I nervously said like a little school girl who was confronted with her crush. But all he could do in that moment, was kiss me. We'd grown more than accustomed to being intimate with one another, learning with each other as we grew, what it meant to be intimate. We didn't have a normal upbringing obviously. But, we taught each other loads of things. We had a connection, one that could never be severed.

"Papa will come looking for us soon. So don't give anyone any reason to come in here." I simply nodded in such an obedient manner, thankful we found a way to permanently jam the camera angled in my room. Otherwise..... someone would be getting a show.

"I'm on duty in a bit. Papa had me doing other things this morning. But gave me a break once I was done." Meaning I was finding others like us. I hated being the reason they were dragged here. But if I didn't do as I was told, I would be shocked by several volts of electricity, enough to knock me out.

"Well he's more lenient with you. He always has been." He said while softly tucking a loose strand of hair behind my ear. Goosebumps littered my arms from the mere way his touch felt, my eyes locked within his blue ones that always brought me comfort when I needed it most. He made me weak. And he knew it.

"You're too sweet for this lab, Audrey. I've always said that. That's why I look out for you like I do. I don't have my powers. But that won't stop me from protecting you." I knew he meant it. He truly meant it with every fiber of his being. Because in that moment, Henry felt like he could be something he really wasn't. A regular human being that he tried so desperately to hate for his entire life. He knew he was above them. But then he felt an emotion he didn't quite understand. One even I found hard to explore.

"I know." Was all I could muster from the mere way he was gazing upon me, his slender, tall figure practically looming over me. I knew he could be dangerous if he wanted to be. He could easily overpower me at any given moment. But I wasn't afraid. Because I saw in his eyes, something that told me there was more to him than his past. I just never knew how bad things would become. And how I would lose him.
