Dragon poachers. The enemy to all dragon kind. To your knowledge, they are known for stealing dragon eggs from the birthing pits; volcanic craters keep the egg warm until its hatches in the eyes of its kin. Birthing pits are kept away from humans so that the hatchlings are not disturbed during their birth—the same rules apply to halflings. Without anyone to guard the pits they become a perfect treasure horde for poachers.

With the stolen whelpling eggs, poachers raise the hatchlings to adulthood with the intention of breeding more dragons for their army. The poor hatchlings are tortured, searing obedience into their young minds. If the dragons die in their care their scales, teeth, and bones are sold for a hefty weight in gold—or they are kept as trophies and in some cases, poachers wear dragons' scales to fend off fire users.

In the past four years, these poachers have grown, taking over small villages outside the kingdom of Takoba, and plotting to overthrow the central city. As well as the villages, there's a hidden camp where most of their stolen goods are kept.

Unbeknownst to them, Bakugou's legion has kept a close eye on the birthing pits after a man covered in scars had been spotted aiding the poachers in their escape using fire magic to keep the eggs intact. White hair, blue eyes, and silver piercings are all the legion could recall in their reports. You noticed a twitch in Bakugou's eye, and a bead of sweat rolled down Izuku's face.

"You know this man?" You asked the two. Several days passed into looking over valuable information before Bakugou's next departure to find poacher territories. Gathering in the battle room of Bakugou's palace, you situated yourself between Izuku and Ochaco, listening to Bakugou's plan of action. Others included Kirishima and Kaminari, each standing next to Bakugou.

"Dabi. He's a member of the league working for the demon king and is a follower of Stain—the hero killer," Izuku explains, tensing at the last part.

"It doesn't matter who he is or what he is. All I care about is catching the bastard before he can steal any more dragon eggs." Bakugou rolls out a map of Takoba and the lands surrounding the kingdom. Territories marked in red ink are the last seen locations provided by the dragon legion.

Your eyes scanned the map. "Seven possible locations?"

"In every location, my legion loses the bastard scent. If I had to guess, they're using some sort of protection stave to hide their trails leading back to their campsites. To dispel the magic is to find the runes belonging to the spell and break through the stave." Bakugou explains, crossing his arms over his chest.

"But in order to do that you'll need someone who excels in support magic-Oh, I see! You want Uraraka to accompany you so she can dispel the runes," Iida assumed, his arm unconsciously chopping at the air.

"That's a great idea! Uraraka will take down those runes in a flash!" Izuku pipes up. The brunette in question hides her face out of embarrassment. Sadly, their excitement was crushed with one shout.

"I'm not taking her!" Bakugou growls, causing the two boys to flinch. You also jumped since your gaze dwelled on the map, engraving the locations into your mind. "There's another person in this room that uses support magic, you morons!"

"Of course, he's not talking about me, guys," Ochaco clears her throat, tapping your elbow as all eyes fall on you but you've failed to notice. After Ochaco taps your elbow, you were met with very intense stares.

"Oh! Are you talking about me?" You asked, pointing a finger at yourself. Only a couple of chuckles from Ochaco, Kaminari, and Kirishima respond to your question.

"Wait! you can't take her, Kacchan! I'm going with you!" Izuku protested, ready to protect you with hesitation without knowing about you being prepared to take up on Bakugou's offer.

"That's not for you to decide, Deku!" Bakugou argued, slamming his fist on the table.

You quickly assure Izuku, whispering. "It's fine, Izuku,"

"You're coming too, four eyes! I need someone who knows their way around Takoba. The rest of you are staying here," Bakugou orders, rolling up the map and looking over at Kirishima. "Be up and ready before sunrise, we have a long flight ahead,"

"The same goes for us too, right?" Asked Iida, referring to you and himself. You nod along with him until you both hear Bakugou click his tongue, dramatically.

"Obviously!"

"Absolutely not!"

Mitsuki followed alongside you dressed in new adventure garments. You were adjusting the buckle holding the sheath of your sword against your back. The woman pursued you after you told her about your plans to accompany her son on a raid for the next few days. You assured her numerous times and despite that Mitsuki didn't stop.

"What was that idiot thinking? Y/n you can't be involved in our problems! Have a member of the legion take your place instead!" The queen begged.

"It will be fine, your grace. I'm only there as support and to dispel any runes we find along our journey. We'll save the dragons and stop the poachers once and for all." You explained, tightening the straps on your bag. "Incoming bag Iida!"

"Even for an elementalist in training. You lack experience in battle, it's too dangerous for you to be out there, y/n," Mitsuki protested as you tossed your bag to Iida standing on top of Kirishima in his dragon form. You pat the dragon's stomach, then turn to Mitsuki.

"I've already decided your grace. So you don't have to worry about me. If you have to worry about anyone let it be your son," You reassured her, smiling warmly. The woman takes your hands and squeezes lightly. She pulls you out of sight, into the garden, leaving Iida to pack your things at the back of Kirishima's saddle.

"I respect your choice Y/n. I really do, but please understand something before you go-" Mitsuki started, you listened closely as her grip became a little tight on your fingers. "Do not underestimate the enemy under any circumstances. They're smart and know how to lose a tail whenever they're caught in a vine. You're not against people, you're against the dragons held captive,"

"Yes, I know," You replied.

"And you must remember, the stolen dragons are still a part of this kingdom and if they are out there wreaking havoc, we're the ones to blame for their actions." You frowned hearing Mitsuki's voice tremble slightly. "It's not your fight, Y/n"

"Your grace I—" You pulled your hands away, cutting yourself off. Placing your hand on her shoulder, you say. "I know it's not my place but I want to help your people more than anyone. It would help if you have a little faith in us instead of worrying. We'll be back before you know it,"

With that, you departed taking your place at Kirishima's side and leaving Mitsuki at the bench. Ready to jump onto the saddle footsteps behind you forced a smile. You turned to find Izuku. The green boy is hesitant till you wrapped your arms around him. Izuku instantly returned the hug, tighter than your embrace.

"I wish I could go with you," Izuku muttered against you.

Your smile grew. Parting from the hug, you whispered. "Me too, but I'll be okay,"

"Just be careful out there, y/n. Please," Izuku tells you in a glum tone. He held onto your hands out of comfort. You smiled, fighting the urge to tackle him where he stands and never let go.

"I'll miss you too, Zuku," Hugging him a second time, you bid farewell to the green-haired boy and glancing over your shoulder, you find Bakugou sharing one final look at his mother, who merely smiles without hesitation. You figured the two had a lot of time to talk since his last raid and kept to yourself.

"Your Highness," You hear above you. Peering up, you see Iida leaning over Kirishima's side and extending a helping hand. You reached up accepting the man's hand. He hauls you off the ground, assisting you in finding your spot in front of him.

"Thank you, Iida," You thanked the knight, moving on the saddle until you were comfortable.

"You're welcome,"

Climbing up after you is Bakugou, he takes his spot in front of you and adjusts the handles to his liking. His arm reaches behind his back and taps your leg. Leaning forward, you gasp feeling him tug on your hand after that hand finds yours. This caused you to slump against his back with a yelp.

"What is it now?" You asked, annoyed and confused as you rubbed your nose.

"If you don't want to come now is the time to say it," He spoke, keeping you trapped to his back. You eased into the hold so your jaw could rest on top of his right shoulder. "I know you have a lot on your mind right now-"

"You said I was coming with you so I'm going," You replied quickly, narrowing your eyes. Adjusting your arms around his waist, you muttered. "I wish you guys would stop worrying all the damn time,"

"Then promise-"Tugging on your hand, Bakugou's thumb strokes your knuckles. "-Promise you're not leaving my sight until this is over,"

Leaning your head against his shoulder blade, you nod into the fluff of his cloak. "I promise,"
