Four concerts. Two cities. Seven boys. One hope. She missed out on them all.

Three months had passed. And she never came back.

Hoseok was sitting on the couch in the dressing room backstage, a phone in his hand waiting for no one other than Y/n to answer.

"The number you have dialed does not exist," the phone sounded.

Hoseok sighed and put his phone down beside him. He didn't know why he still even tried anymore. It's been this way for a while now. Still, Hoseok couldn't help but miss Y/n.

He sunk into the couch as he lowered his head and massaged his temple.

It was as if she completely disappeared from the Earth. She changed her number. She quit her job. She disappeared from social media. She wasn't with her parents. And she wasn't with Hoseok. She was gone. Without a trace.

He frowned. "How much longer will you do this to me, Y/n?" He whispered to himself.

Just then, his fellow members entered the room, chatting along with each other. Jimin, Taehyung and Jungkook talked about the concert they finished just a few minutes ago. Namjoon talked with Yoongi about something he loved about the fans' dedication during the concert. Jin walked beside them, but remained silent. He'd been really stressed lately ever since his sister's disappearance. Even though she had left a message to her parents that she was fine and safe, that she just needed time off for a bit. It was their first big tour and they were happy, yet still unable to enjoy it without their Y/n cheering them on all the way like she usually would. They smiled less but still tried to be happy. Hoseok and Jin especially had a hard time. Even Jisoo, who felt like the cause of all this.

She stood on the far end of the room, packing up all the make-up, cleaning up with the rest of the staff. They just finished when she headed over to sit next to Hoseok who still sat alone on the couch.

"Hi," she said as she sat beside him. He turned his head to look at her. He seemed like he'd just gotten out of a daze. "How..."

How are you holding up?

"How was the concert?" She smiled hopefully.

She couldn't say it; the words she really wanted to say.

Realisation came over him. "Ah! It was good. The energy... The fans were happy," he said.

Too happy.

They were happy she was gone. BigHit Entertainment announced that she had quit and everyone was happy. 'Good riddance,' they would say. Fans searched where she was. Even visited her parents' house. But of course, she was nowhere to be found.

Gone.

The word made his heart ache.

"That's good to hear," Jisoo commented. Jhope almost glared at her but then quickly realised she was talking about the concert.

"Oh! Yeah," he laughed nervously.

"Hoseok," she said, her tone changing. He looked to her seriously. She hesitated before speaking. "I'm sorry," she said finally, her eyes tearing up. "This was my fault. I made it worse for you two. It really wasn't my intention," she said.

Hoseok was quiet. He was shocked. He never once realized that she might be blaming herself.

"I made everything worse. Not just for you, but the other members too. Not to mention, Y/n's probably feeling so alone out there and all because of my stupid curiosity that I thought would help." She let out a sigh and looked the other way as she wished her teary eyes. "I messed everything up."

"Hey," Hoseok called out, making her look to him. "That's not your fault. That interviewer was the one who messed everything up, okay?" He looked at her seriously, making sure she understood it. "And Y/n finding out about her memory loss..." He gulped. "That was my fault. And she was bound to find out someday... So don't blame yourself, Jisoo."

She was now quiet. She gave Hoseok a small weak smile.

"Besides, we have hope on our side," he smiled. "You know things will work out in the end. I'll find Y/n again. I know I will. I always find my way back to her."

And he was right. He always did. After the accident, he'd found her back in his high school. Even after trying to stay away from her in high school, he met her again at the very resort where they first met. Even after that, she shows up at his doorstep in the middle of the night when he was just thinking about her, asking himself whether or not he should get involved with her again or not. When he bumped into her at school that first day after that holiday and she smiled up at him. Even after Jimin had been sick in hospital and she rejected him, she ran after Hoseok and told him never to leave. Even after they debuted and she still wore her bracelet with pride. Even the posters on her walls said it all. Surely, all that couldn't end within mere seconds. They were meant to be.

Jisoo smiled. "You're right. She'll come back."

"You guys," the manager called out. "It's time to go."

Hoseok gave Jisoo one last smile before getting up to leave. Jisoo lingered in the room for just a bit longer. She looked down and a tear escaped her eyes. She wiped them, sniffling just a bit and let out a sigh. Slowly, she exited the empty room. Well, what she thought was an empty room. Jimin stood in the corner of the room behind her. He watched her with pity.

"Stop looking so sad..." He murmured once she left. "It makes me want to hug you."

They'd just arrived at their new hotel. Hoseok had lost count already of how many they'd been to.

Tonight Jin was his roommate. Hoseok guessed it was good since they both were quiet lately and Hoseok would probably sleep early. No members nagging him about anything.

Hoseok plopped down into his bed face first after a shower. He turned his head to the side and pulled out his phone from underneath his pillow, checking it for any messages from Y/n. A habit of his. But there was nothing. He sighed, pulling in his lips. Well, what did he expect?

He pulled his blanket up over him and closed his eyes. The only sound he heard, coming from shower Jin was now taking. The sound of the water seemed calming. Slowly, he drifted off to sleep. Somehow.

"Hoseok," Jin called out, laying in his bed beside Hoseok.

It didn't last long enough.

Only half an hour had passed. Hoseok's eyes opened slowly. What did he expect? He was a light sleeper nowadays.

"You awake?" Jin asked.

"Hm," Hoseok hummed in response and turned his body to lay the other way so that he could face Jin. Jin was lying down and facing him too. Hoseok noticed the tiredness in his eyes. "You can't sleep either?" Hoseok asked.

"Pretty much," Jin said.

"I'm sorry I did this to us," Hoseok said, looking down. He couldn't seem to bring himself to look Jin in the eyes. "I guess I just couldn't keep my mouth shut."

Jin's eyes softened. "I don't hate you, Hoseok. Stop acting this way around me," he said. Hoseok finally looked up at him. "And I'm the one who should be saying sorry. Forcing you to live like that. It must have been hard. I just couldn't bring myself to telling you the truth about her amnesia because I knew it might haunt you. That you caused her such pain that she went mad," he said. This time Jin couldn't look at Hoseok. "But it shows... how much you meant to her. She must have really trusted and loved you if she was affected like that. She dreamt of you every night and woke up crying. I won't lie, at first I was mad at you for doing that to her."

Hoseok looked down again.

"But then I started to admire you," he continued. Hoseok looked up at Jin with curiosity. "I realized... She didn't wake up crying and screaming because she was afraid. She did it because you were her friend and you just left her there. She cried because she loved you even then. Everything started to make sense after you told me what happened. But the reason I admire you, Hoseok... Even after something like that, you chose to come back. It would've been easier just to forget her and move on. But instead, you wanted to return everything she did for you. You wanted to give her hope like she gave you hope. I should thank you for that, Hoseok. Thank you for helping my sister grow," he smiled. "I don't know what my sister's doing right now and I know it's hard for her recalling all this. But I know when she recalls everything fully, she'll realise that too; everything you did was to repay her. And she'll remember the way she felt. She just needs time. Although it might be difficult because of the problem that interviewer caused. But we'll get through it."

Hoseok couldn't help but smile back and it wasn't until his vision got blurry, that he realised he was about to cry.

Jin chuckled. "Don't tell me you're going to cry," he teased.

Hoseok quickly wiped his tears and turned his body to face the opposite direction as he chuckled. "Ah, what's with this? It's your fault. Stop making me cry," Hoseok rambled on. Jin only laughed. There was a moment of silence. Without turning around to face Jin, Hoseok spoke once again. "Thanks, Jin. For saying everything you did."

Hoseok couldn't see it but Jin smiled in response. "You're welcome."

Minutes passed, the air was filled with silence. Then suddenly Jin heard the sound of sniffling.

Jin started chuckling once again. "Oh my god, Hoseok. Don't tell me you're still crying about that." He continued to laugh but then Hoseok turned around to face him and even though the lights were dimmed, it was obvious that Hoseok was not in the mood for jokes.

"It's not funny," he whined. He turned to lay on his back and looked up at the ceiling. "And I'm not crying about that," he added. He wiped his eyes. "I don't want to do this anymore."

Jin stared at him in confusion. "Do what?" He asked.

"Being watched by the whole world. Being judged and told what to do. Pretending to be happy. To be confident. Being an idol. I hate it," Hoseok sobbed and wiped his tears distressfully. "I mean, don't get me wrong. I love ARMY. They care about us so much and support us and love us to death. But I just feel so weak without Y/n. I may have been ARMYs strength. But Y/n? She was mine. So I don't know-" Hoseok sniffed. "-how to keep doing this. I want to... I want to quit. If that's what it'll take to be Y/n."

Jin was too stunned to speak.

"Because I can't-" He sniffed again. "Because I can't do this without her here. I know this isn't some sort of magic shop where I can easily exchange my fear for happiness. But literally that is the only thing I want to do right now."

There was a pause.

"I want Y/n here." Hoseok squeezed his eyes shut and with the dim light, Jin saw a tear fall down the contour of his cheek.

'Magic shop..?' Jin thought to himself.

***

She walked down the street on the brick pavement, nobody drawing any particular attention to her.

Just what she wanted.

She straightened her cap that somewhat hid her face with her free hand. Her other hand was occupied with a flyer.

She looked at the flyer one last time before stopping in front of a building. It was a café. The flyer and the café seemed to have one thing in common. They both had the same bold words on top of it.

'Magic Shop,' it read.

'Here is where all your stress is forgotten and happiness takes over.' That was their logo.

She let out a nervous sigh.

"I hope you're right," she said aloud to no one in particular.

She took her first few steps toward the café. Her first steps into her new life. Her new beginning.
