Ivy laid up at night wondering what she could possibly do to get closer with James. If he found out what his mother had asked Ivy to do, he'd be absolutely enraged. He would most likely push Ivy as far away as possible. She needed an excuse to reduce his suspicions. Ivy was one of the brightest witches ever to come to Hogwarts, she would surely think of something, and of course she did.

She sprung out of bed pulling on her coat and slippers, trying her best not to wake Harlow sleeping from across the room. She tip-toed her way out of the common room and into the halls of Hogwarts. She cautiously walked towards Headmistress McGonagall's office hoping she would not be caught and end up in detention. The Headmistress usually wouldn't leave her study till very late at night, allowing Ivy to speak to her in private without suspicion from her friends or any other students.

The Headmistress looked up in surprise as the young Ravenclaw made her way into her study. "Mrs.Blane I hope you know you are breaking curfew. I should write you up this instant." She stated. "Unless of course there is a reason for the unexpected surprise."

"Headmistress I wouldn't have broken curfew unless it was a serious matter." Ivy started. "Ginevra Potter has asked me to help James through this tournament, but him and I don't get along as you know, he'd immediately suspect something if I started acting kind towards him. Therefore I came up with an idea that might help me." She finished sending a small smile towards the Headmistress.

"Very well then Mrs.Blane, tell me what is this idea you had in mind?" She asked putting all her attention towards the girl.

"Helpers, I believe they should be provided helpers. The games aren't a piece of cake, and usually the champions need advice or guidance during the task that have been assigned." She started informing the Headmistress. "If you assigned each Champion a helper from their school, it'd allow me to watch after James, and make sure he doesn't get into any trouble, or make any idiotic decisions."

The Headmistress gave the girl a questioning look. "Although I am positive I could make that happen, are you sure you both won't kill each other? You both don't have the best relationship, and I'm sure you'd end up feeding him to the dragons yourself." She finished giving the girl a worried glance.

"I wouldn't be surprised either," She cursed under her breath. "But Mrs.Potter has done so much for me, I believe I could handle James for a bit to repay her."

The Headmistress gave her one more glance of curiosity before agreeing. "Very well then, I will talk to each Headmaster to choose one candidate, and we will let the Champions know tomorrow. Now I advice you to head to bed before a professor catches you out at this time."

"Thank you Headmistress." The girl replied sending a small smile before making her way back towards the common room. She could not believe she was going to be doing this, but it seemed like there was no other choice. She just hoped they wouldn't be dead by Christmas. She still wanted her jumper from Molly.

James was seated in his class when he noticed his Headmistress walk into the class full of seventh years. Each student looked towards the other questioning what was going on.

"Headmistress McGonagall, what a lovely surprise." Professor Longbottom called out. "What can I do for you?"

"Hello Mr.Longbottom, could you please excuse Mr.Potter from the rest of your lesson?" She questioned pointing towards James with her wand.

"Of course not, James follow the Headmistress." His professor instructed him. James immediately stood up making his way out of the room. He had no idea what was going on, but he presumed it had something to do with the Tournament. As he followed the Headmistress into her study his suspicion was proven correct. There stood the other two champions along with three other students, his smile turned into a frown once realizing one of them was Lennon Blane.

"Please stand next to the other students." Headmistress McGonagall instructed. James nodded his head and made his way towards the complete opposite side of Ivy.

"After discussing with the Headmaster from each school we have decided to lend you a helping hand. We have each chosen the brightest witch or wizard from each school to assist you during the tournament." McGonagall started causing James to tense up, it couldn't be who he was thinking. It couldn't.

"Felicity, Claire Jolac will assist you during this tournament. Mr.Bram, you will be aided by Lincoln Coleman." The Headmaster stated pointing to each witch and wizard. "Finally, Mr.Potter I have chosen Ivy Blane to help you during this tournament."

James froze in complete shock. He had to admit Ivy was one of the brightest, maybe the brightest witch he had ever met, but there was no way he'd win with her assistance. She'd end up sabotaging him, or slip him some poison for Merlin's sake. He could not believe the Headmistress' decision.

"I expect you to respect the person we have chose, they are taking time out of their day to assist each one of you." McGonagall stated while looking directly at James. "You're first challenge will be sooner than you think, it's best you start training. Remember the ministry has decided to use the same tasks as the previous tournament back in 1994, we wish you all luck." The headmistress finished guiding the students out of her study.

James gave Ivy a nasty glare before narrowing towards her. "Look Lennon we might not get along at all, but I will not let you ruin this competition for me. Don't try anything funny." James stated pointing towards her.

Ivy rolled her eyes before replying. "I have no intension of ruining this competition for you, I've been asked to assist you and that's all I'll be doing. Have you even though about how I could help you?" Ivy questioned.

James looked down towards Ivy with a questioning glare. "You're smart Lennon, but is there anything you can actually do besides cast spells?" James asked annoyed.

"As a matter of a fact I can. Incase you've forgotten two years ago Rose, Victoire, and I studied Dragons with your Uncle Charlie during the summer. He managed to teach us quiet a bit on not only how to care for dragons, but how to defend ourselves as well." Ivy finished.

James remembered that summer clearly, he hadn't had to hear a word from her mouth for more than a month, how could he forget? "Yes I do remember, I just didn't think you had actually accomplished something the whole trip. I always taught you hid in a tent whenever the dragons came near." James mocked.

Ivy scoffed at his remark. "Very funny James, you could always ask for a new partner. It would save me the trouble of aiding you." Ivy replied, but deep down she knew James wouldn't ask for a new partner. He knew she was smart, and if he was causing her misery he couldn't help but enjoy it.

"No that's fine, I like a challenge." James said smirking down towards Ivy. "Just don't get yourself killed trying to save me Lennon. What a shame if we lost you." James said sarcastically.

"I might be assisting you, but I'd never put myself in front of a dragon for you. Plus it'd be a shame if Hogwarts lost the best witch they've ever had, don't you think?" Ivy replied.

"They wouldn't be losing much." James scoffed. "Also you'll be assisting me, oh how the tables have turned. I never taught I'd see the day where Lennon Blane would be assisting me, such an honor to be helping the James Sirius Potter. Son of Harry Potter and named after two of the Marauders, I think you deserve an award." James said finally finishing his statement, which made him appear as the greatest wizard alive.

What had she got herself into.
