Who knew that being suspended for a week would be amazing? Sure Mia and Clay were grounded, but they still made it work. I mean, secret rendevous and the picnic that was promised. That week was calm, it was...them.

Clay's eyes were closed as he sleeps in bed. It's so peaceful, he actually was able to sleep. He feels something poke his cheek and he pulls his brows together. He turns on his side, now he feels something lightly tugging at his ear. He opens one eye and is greeted with the sun shining in his eyes. He closes his eyes and quietly groans.

"Clay..." the girl whispers. "You have to get up."

Clay stays silent and the brunette rolls her eyes, a smile on her lips. "My mom's home." She kisses his neck. "You..." She kisses his cheek. "Have..." Then the corner of his lips. "To go." She kisses his lips.

Clay inhales and kisses her back. Mia smirks on his lips and separates from him. "Well, look who's awake now." She smiles softly.

"You know..." Clay sits up. "If you want me to leave, kissing me isn't going to help."

Mia's smile grows, "As much...as I would love to stay in bed all day, again..." she leans forward. "We go back to school today, and we can't be late." She tilts her head. "You should also check on Justin."

A silence settles between the couple as they think about Justin. "He stopped using right?" Mia asks.

"That's what he told me." Clay states.

Mia bites her thumbnail. She slowly nods her head and inhales,"You. Go." She points to the window.

Clay looks at the window, he raises his brows and chuckles. He looks back at the brunette and sees her not smiling.

Clay's smile falls. She was serious. Mia hands him his shirt. "I'll see you later, Ocean Eyes."

==========

Mia rocks back and forth in the chair. She blows air out of her lips and shrugs her shoulders. "I don't know what you're talking about." Mia chuckles.

Foundry sighs, "You and Gwen were one of the first students to see Justin and Diego fig--"

"No. Me and Gwen were one of the first students to see a police officer aim a gun at students." She presses her lips together.

"Listen, Miss Walker. I know you have been through a lot of pain these last 4 years, but that still does not give you a reason to--"

"To what?" Mia tilts her head. "Stand up for student rights?" She smirks. "This is bullshit...pardon my french."

"Do you know anything about the tape?" He asks.

Mia tilts her head, "Can you elaborate?" She shrugs.

"The tape that Bryce left for Jessica." Foundry clarifies.

Mia's jaw tightens, "No." she answers.

Foundry squints his eyes, "Miss Walker lying won't get you anywhere." He says.

Mia smirks, "What reason would I have for lying?" She asks.

Her smile drops. "Okay, look..." She sighs. "I think that you should take a nice vacation for away from this hellhole as soon as possible." She chuckles.

Foundry squints his eyes, "Do you think this is a game?" He asks.

Mia frowns pretending to think. "Yes." She nods her head. "You taking away prom because of all of us standing up for what's right better be a game." She leans forward.

"Obviously this isn't going anywhere." Foundry states.

Mia squints her eyes, "Obviously."

==========

"Jesus Christ, Clay." Jessica shakes her head. "You're gonna destroy us."

"I'm sorry." Clay whispers. "I wasn't in my right head for a long time."

"Foundry's interviewing every single person." Jessica states. "He's gonna find out why Clay's been doing all that shit."

"So what? So, they interview us all one by one." Tyler sighs. "We just lie. I mean, we all know how to do that. I got pretty good at it."

"That's  not really a thing to be proud of, Ty." Mia presses her lips together.

"Might not be the answer, speaking from experience." Ani states.

"They talked to Diego today." Jessica says.

"And you have Diego handled, right?" Justin questions, looking at Jessica.

"Here's the thing. Diego's on to us. So is Estela, so is Winston and Brett." Clay states. "Foundry heard the tape, and now he's interrogating the whole school, starting with Diego, and who knows what he said."

"They're only doing this because of the parents." Charlie informs. "My dad told me all the Boosters have been calling him. They asked for an investigation and the school caved."

Mia slowly nods her head, "Huh." she whispers.

"So we are dead." Clay voices off, sitting beside her.

"What if we got our parents back on our side?" Charlie suggests.

"But they have, like, computer stats on how much we lie to them." Jessica states. "How do we get them to trust us now?"

Charlie looks at Jessica with a small smile. "Tell them the truth." He answers.

Mia raises her brows, "Yeah--no, we're dead." she nods.

Everyone looks at Charlie like he's insane. "Uh, I mean, you don't tell them all the truth." Charlie states. "You never tell them everything, but you just tell them enough. Enought that's true to make them trust us again."

"We're in a war here." Clay informs.

"Yeah, and we're losing." Charlie reminds Clay. "We get 'em back on our side, we might have a chance."

Mia chuckles softly. "We ask them to help us stop an investigation?" Jessica asks.

"Not directly." Charlie says. "First, we get them on our side by confiding in them, and then...we ask them to help us get back prom."

Mia pulls her brows together, "Okay, I'm lost again." she states.

"It's like a bait and switch. Ease off the police state so we can get back prom, and the investigation quietly goes away...before they put it all together." Charlie explains.

"And they're gonna believe that we care about prom?" Jessica questions.

Charlie nods his head, "I actually do." he says, looking at Alex.

"Yeah, so do I." Tyler admits.

"Yeah, me too." Jessica says.

"Same."

Everyone looks at the short-haired brunette more shocked by anyone to hear her say that.

"What? It's like, senior year or whatever..." She looks down at her fingers.

Jessica quietly scoffs, "Tell our parents the truth." she says.

"This might be the riskiest thing we've ever done." Clay states.

After the meeting ended, Clay and Mia were standing at the door talking, giving Jessica and Justin some space. "This truth thing seems...weird, right?" Mia asks.

Clay inhales and nods his head, he looks at the brunette. "So...you care about prom?" He asks.

Mia's face heats up, she bites the inside of her cheek, and shrugs. "I mean...yeah, it's senior year and...it would be nice, right? To relax for at least...one night?" She asks.

Clay smirks, "Yeah, it would." he agrees. As much as Clay didn't like dances, he liked seeing Mia excited.

"I like seeing you happy." Clay says.

Mia smiles, "It looks good on me, right?" she asks.

Clay nods his head, "It really does." he chuckles.

Clay leans forward and kisses Mia. The brunette kisses him back. They separate from each other. Jessica looks between them, "Honesty, it's about time." she chuckles.

Mia looks over at Jessica, "Hi." the brunette whispers. Mia looks at Clay, "I'll see you later, Ocean Eyes." she whispers to Clay.

"Adorable, honestly." Jessica smiles.

Mia smiles, she waves at Justin and leaves with Jessica.

"So...you and Mia, prom?" Justin asks as Clay closes the door.

Clay chuckles, "Shut up." he shakes his head.

"She wouldn't mention it if she didn't want you do something special." Justin shrugs.

Clay's jaw goes slack. Justin chuckles as he notices Clay's mind now reeling about a way to ask Mia to prom.
