𝐀laine was awoken by a harsh kick to the stomach, she could've sworn she could hear her already bruised ribs crack. She groaned in pain. "Get up 098, you got a vistor!" The guard yelled harshly. Alaine scramble to her feat barely able to keep her balance.

The guard cuffed her wrists tightly and pushed her forward. After about 10 to 15 minutes of walking they finally arrived at the interrogation room. The guard shoved her forward into the room and slammed the door shut. Alaine walked over to the chair and plopped down in it. She looked at her two visitors, her eyes landing on Rossi first. She tilted her head and squinted her eyes in recognition.

"Hey...I remember you...you gave me a psych eval and tried to convince the grand jury I was crazy right...?" She ask rhetorically, while pointing at Rossi. "I was trying to help you by saying you had a psychotic break and weren't able to control your actions..." Rossi corrected while sitting down in front of her. She quirked a brow and looked to the side. "Yeah well all you did was get me was specialized guards and two years of really bad therapy that didn't even do anything, so...thanks alot..." She quipped.

Rossi sighed disappointedly. "I'm sorry I couldn't help, I really wanted to truly..." Rossi apologized, by his tone of voice Spencer could tell he was being genuine, Rossi really wished he could help...Alaine just mumbled something under her breath. "So, to what do I owe the pleasure of this visit Special Supervisory Agent Rossi...?" She asked while leaning back in her chair.

"We need your help on a case..." Rossi answered. Alaine broke into laughter at Rossi's comment. "Have I said something funny?" Rossi asked with a puzzled expression. "I'm, sorry do I look I still work with the government to you...? The only thing that's government in my life is the federal prison that I'm in..." She retorted angrily. "Ms. Demean please at least just look at these pictures..." Spencer asked, speaking up for the first time since they'd been in this room. Alaine looked up to him and quirked A brow finally acknowledging his presence, before looking back over to Rossi.

"What's with Mr. Long, tall, and handsome? Did Sherlock get a Wattson?" Alaine asked jokingly. "Uhh, no this is Dr. Spencer Reid, he works with me at the BAU. Behavioral Analysis-" Rossi started to clarify. "Unit, yeah, yeah I've heard about you guys...I actually wanted to join but the CIA snatched me before I could..." Alaine finished. "Please Ms. Demean-" Spencer started only to be cut off by Alaine. "Demean, just Demean please..." Alaine said. "Demean, could you please take a look at the case?" Spencer asked. She just rolled her eyes, and then motioned for Reid to show her the case files.

When Reid opened the files she immediately scrunched her brows. "What does this look like to you?" Rossi asked. "Well...it looks like these ladies got a bad paint jobs...never trust state fairs in New York City..." Alaine jested. "Demean this is serious people are being murdered..." Spencer reminded. "Listen, pretty boy '
'serious' isn't my style..." She started. "But I did give you a clue, my jokes have clues...and the one you so easily missed in your quest to be serious was the face paint..." Alaine finished while looking at Spencer with displeased face almost as if she was calling him a buzz kill...Spencer calmed down and took a seat. "Okay, what about the face paint?" Spencer asked patiently, which to say the least surprised Alaine, most people would've snapped at her or left. "The cause of death is strychnine poisoning right?" Alaine asked. "Yes, that's right." Rossi answered.

"Have the ME check the face paint strychnine. The fact that the unsub used strychnine as a poison let's me know that this isn't just some copycat. The original killer used strychnine but the public never knew that, if the unsub knows that I'm betting that he also knew that the original killer also put the strychnine inside of the face paint as well..." Alaine said surely. Spencer and Rossi looked at each other in disbelief, 'How had we missed that?!' thought a dumbfounded Spencer. "It was painfully obvious I'm suprised we missed it..." Rossi admitted out loud. "Thank you." Spencer said to Alaine. "Yeah," She said  giving an airy laugh. "don't mention it..." Alaine concluded giving a small smile. Spencer and stood up to walk out the door "Pretty boy!" Alaine called. And Spencer turned over to look at her in confusion. "I didn't give you a name..." She explained.

𝐒pencer and Rossi walked into the conference room about 20 minutes later, ready to share their new found information. "Did you guys find anything?" JJ asked looking up from the case files. "We did, according to Demean in the original murders the Unsub used styrchnine as well but that wasn't public information." Spencer started. "The Unsub also put the styrchnine in the makeup, that he used for the face paint, the ME's gonna test the face paint for poison meaning that whoever did this had inside information, so it wasn't just a civilian..." Rossi concluded.

Hotch nodded his head before saying: "Okay, that helps us narrow down the list I'll have Garcia see if there's any record of anybody else working on the case did she tell you who the original Unsub was?" He asked. "Nathan Lang. The only thing on him is birth records, and arrest dates, with some articles abour the murders." Rossi answered. Just then the captain walked in with a dejected look on his face.

"Captain Michaels what is it?" Derek asked looking up from the case file he was reading. "There's been another murder..." The captain said while sighing... "Okay, Morgan and Prentiss go to the new crime scene. Reid when the body's taken to the coroner's, I want you and Rossi to go down to the coroner's and see if there's styrchnine in the makeup of this victim as well. JJ try control the press, and tell them we have suspect and are close to making an arrest. Reid and Rossi for now I want you two to stay with me, we need to deliver the profile." Everybody nods acknowleging that they understood their assignment.

Captain Michaels however gave Hotch a confused look as they did not have a single suspect and were no where near making an arrest. Understanding this confusion Hotch explains what he's playing at. "Gather you officers, we need to deliver the profile, when I deliver the profile I'll explain what I'm playing at..." Hotch says, the captain quickly nods and gathers his officers.

"Our Unsub took time with his victims, and most likely was stalking several of them at them at a time and has precise victimology, meaning he is patient and likes things well planned out, but if he hears that we have a a suspect and are close to making an arrest he'll most likely feel rushed and make a mistake." Hotch started off the profile while also answering Captain Michaels unasked question. He then looked to Reid to continue the profile.

"Our Unsub is a copycat too, copying the work of another serial killer he uses styrchnine poisoning, like in the original murders but this information wasn't disclosed to the public meaning that the Unsub was likely close to the case but not the original Unsub, so he most likely worked on it, working on this would mean he has some power and security in his life, but this is not the case. Him copying the work of another serial killer indicates feelings of insecurity, and having everything planned out makes him feel in control meaning that's something he has little of in his day to day life." Reid continues while making hand gestures.

Reid stops talking meaning that Rossi will conclude the profile. "Though the Unsub's choice of poison is ideal for New York City and is easily accessible, the process itself is tedious, meaning that he'd either have to constantly buy supplies and in large amounts. Because our Unsub is so organized he likely does not do well under pressure or situations where he feels he has no control." Rossi starts off.

"If he feels overwhelmed by his current situation he'll be erratic and will feel threatened meaning that he'll likely do something dangerous in the heat of the moment so when we find the Unsub it is best to keep him as calm as possible let him feel he's in control..." Rossi says ending the profile. The officers in the precinct nod ready to get back to work using this new information. After all the clock was ticking and lives were at stake. They had a serial killer to catch...
