It's time for us to return to the Lumiose City League Stadium, where my parents, Charles Goodshow, Uncle Paris, and Aunt Diantha are waiting for us. Elline and David tackle their parents with a hug, and Emma and I also do the same.

Diantha says, "Welcome at last, Ash. I have been waiting for our battle for a long time."

I say, "Thank you, Diantha. I'm ready to battle you and get my sixth region champion."

Goodshow says, "As energetic as always, Ash?"

They head to the field, which is surrounded by the crowd. "Serena, everyone! Over here!" We are also surprised to find Tierno, Shauna, Trevor, Calem, Sawyer, and Mairin. Serena asks, "You all have come to see the battle?"

Shauna says, "Of course, we can't miss it."

Diantha sends out Hawlucha as her first Pokémon, and I respond by choosing Pikachu. Pikachu initiates with Quick Attack, but Hawlucha deftly evades and retaliates with High Jump Kick, sending Pikachu reeling. Despite the setback, Pikachu rallies, dodging a Flying Press and countering with Iron Tail. After a series of intense exchanges, Hawlucha succumbs to Pikachu's Electro Web.

Next up is Tyrantrum, prompting me to recall Pikachu and send out Noivern. A Boomburst from Noivern proves ineffective against Tyrantrum's Stone Edge. Strategically flying high, Noivern counters with Dragon Pulse, breaking through Tyrantrum's rock-based offense and securing a victory with a powerful Dragon Claw.

Diantha introduces Aurorus as her third Pokémon, and by using Avalanche, Noivern is unable to battle, leading to a switch as I send Hawlucha back into battle. Despite dealing damage with Karate Chop, Hawlucha ultimately succumbs to Aurorus's Aurora Beam. Pikachu returns to the fray, using Iron Tail and Brick Break to defeat Aurorus.

"Ash, I can feel the excitement when I am battling you," she remarks.

"Me too. It's like we're in a movie, only this is real," I reply.

As the battle progresses, Goodra faces its counterpart, they use Dragon Pulse and Bide to keep countering attacks, resulting in a double knockout. Gourgeist enters the field, and I counter with Talonflame. Despite Trick or Treat turning it into a Ghost-type and taking heavy damage from Shadow Ball, Talonflame's Flame Charge boosts its speed. It secures victory with a Brave Bird against Gourgeist.

"Diantha has only one Pokemon while Ash still has 3, he can win this!" Alice says.

David says, "But we all know what is Mom's final Pokemon."

Diantha, down to her last Pokémon, unveils Gardevoir. I remain optimistic, but the mood turns tense as Gardevoir's overwhelming speed allows it to defeat Talonflame with Thunderbolt. Pikachu enters the battle, initiating with Iron Tail and Quick Attack, both skillfully dodged by Gardevoir. Gardevoir uses Shadow Ball, which sends Pikachu flying and I run to catch him. When I catch it, Pikachu has already fainted.

"It seems the tide is turning..." Sawyer says.

"Yeah, Gardevoir is so strong even it doesn't mega evolve." Serena says.

Diantha says, "Let me guess, your final Pokemon is going to be him, right?"

I smile, "You have got it, Greninja, I choose you!"

The final showdown unfolds, with Greninja facing Gardevoir. A strategic dance ensues, with Water Shurikens and Shadow Balls colliding in midair. Despite Greninja's clever use of Double Team, Gardevoir retaliates with a Moonblast that leaves Greninja vulnerable. I encourage Greninja to rise, and the battle intensifies with both sides giving their all.

As the tension peaks, I decide to go for the Ash-Greninja form, the battle reaches a crescendo, with Greninja using Water Shuriken and Aerial Ace, and Diantha decides to Mega Evolve Gardevoir, as the battle really starts now.

Greninja uses Water Shuriken, but the attack is blocked by Gardevoir's Shadow Ball, so Greninja uses Aerial Ace, which is blocked by Gardevoir's Reflect. Greninja uses Double Team and later Cut. Gardevoir used Reflect, but the protection is destroyed by Greninja's attacks.

"This is the end! Giant Water Shuriken!" I yell as Greninja prepares to fire a Shuriken as big as the one I battled myself, Diantha tells Gardevoir to use Shadow Ball, but the attack goes through and hits Gardevoir, causing a big smoke covering her.

Everyone is shocked as the stadium is silent. After the smoke clears, Gardevoir has changed back to her original form. The referee yells, "Gardevoir is unable to battle, Greninja is the winner, which means the victory goes to Ash Ketchum!"

Everyone cheers for me, as Greninja and I sit down since we are tired. Diantha also smiles at us, as she walks towards me and pulls him up.

"Witnessing the noble spirits of you and your Pokémon in battle has really touched my heart..." Diantha says to me.

"Thanks, I'm also glad to have this battle with Greninja." I say.

"I-I'm so choked up that it's hard to know what I should say, but I...I... I'm just so glad at this moment that I was good enough to be the Champion... After all, it gave me the chance to meet and battle with you and your wonderful Pokémon! My dear Ash, would you mind coming this way with me?"

Then, as usual, President Goodshow comes to congratulate me on my win, and then we are taken to the Hall of Fame.

"This grand chamber is where you enter the Kalos region's Hall of Fame. This is where Pokémon Trainers will live on forever, remembered always for giving their all in the battle to the Pokémon League and for the glory and light that they shared with all." Aunt Diantha says. "Come, Ash... Your love for your Pokémon... And the way that those Pokémon gave everything they had in battle for you... We'll record them all right here for eternity."

After we record myself, I reply to Mr. Goodshow about refusing to be the Champion. Then outside, everyone is amazed at my performance as they gather around me. Especially Alice and Serena. The two of them immediately hug me and even kiss me, much to everyone's surprise.

With everyone dispersing, it is now the seven of us again. Clemont says, "Our journey is almost over, it's kinda sad, you know?"

Bonnie is also sad and so is Dedenne. But as we are walking, the giant vine appears once more. It is then Z2 shows up and destroys the vine. He says, "Greninja and Squishy. I've come to ask a favor of you. The vines that reappeared... their roots have burrowed themselves deep into the ground, and they energy by absorbing negative energy. What we destroyed was merely on the surface. The scars of the incident that nearly destroyed the world are deep. I'm destroying the roots that are scattered throughout Kalos, one by one. However, it's difficult even for me to pinpoint their exact locations. Yet, Greninja. It seems that you are somehow able to locate them."

My Greninja nods as we also see the negative energy. Z2 says, "I don't know why only you possess that power, but I am in need of your assistance. Will you help us with your power?"

We realize what is going on, and in the end, Greninja decides to stay here. I say, "I know. What happened before can never happen again. Remember what Professor Sycamore said? That maybe it wasn't a coincidence that I met you way back when you were still a Froakie. I think that maybe he was right. It wasn't a coincidence. When we powered up, it wasn't an accident. Maybe your power is always meant for this moment. Thanks. You always became stronger to help someone else. So now, this time... you'll help Kalos and the world."

Then I decide to leave Greninja and Squishy to help Z2 eliminate the energy, and we are always connected even though we're not in the same place. Then we share a hug, and then we decide to bid farewell to Greninja and Squishy right now.

Squishy says, "Ash, Greninja will be in my care."

"I'm counting on you." I say.

"We probably won't see each other for a while."

Bonnie says, "It's okay. I know that you've got a lot of important work to do! I'll always be cheering you on, you know!"

The day we leave Kalos has finally come, and Professor Sycamore and Mairin come to say hi. I say, "So Mairin, you're going to help the Professor on the journey?"

"Of course. First off, we're heading for Frost Cavern!" Mairin says as Chespie cheers.

"We learned this. When the sundial is bathed in the light of the setting sun, it gives off energy. And when we traced that energy, we discovered a material similar to Mega Stones." Professor Sycamore says.

"So that's why we're on our way there, for research." Mairin says. "Ash and Alice... thank you for everything. I'm glad we'll always be friends."

Then we bid farewell to them and now it is time for us to head to the airport. Alice is coming with me to the Kanto, while Serena is off to Hoenn. All of our Pokemon are saying goodbye, and Bonnie and Dedenne are the ones who are affected the most. Then Bonnie promises to us that she'll become a trainer and also become stronger so that she can achieve her dream, and it makes me remember Max...

Now Serena is about to leave, and she says, "Ash, thank you. I'm glad I came with you. You're the kind of person I want to be. Next time we meet, you're gonna like the kind of person I've grown into!"

"Awesome!" I say.

Then before Serena leaves, she decides to give me a kiss on the lips, much to everyone's surprise. Then she bids us farewell. Alice says, "Lucky... she's the first one who gets the kiss on your lips..."

"If you want to, I can do it for you as well. You, Lillie, and Serena are my girlfriends after all." Alice blushes after hearing that.

And after we have a battle with Clemont and Elline together, it is time for us to go back to Pallet Town, and we bid farewell to the others as me and Alice board on the plane.

And this is the end of the Kalos Arc. The next arc is not going to be Alola just yet, instead, it will be the Hisui Arc because there is something I also want to do other than the Hisui Region. I hope you like this chapter and see you on the next arc.
