Sundew's POV

Sundew was back on Pantala. Wasp and the Othermind were gone, and she and Willow were living happily in the Poison Jungle.

Sundew was reading a letter that Cricket had sent her. The two of them wrote regularly, since it was rare that they could see each other. They both were really busy, and Blue sometimes wrote too. And she got the occasional letter from Swordtail and Luna.

Sundew was reading the letter, and Willow was in another room talking to Hazel, who was now queen after Sequoia had died from the Othermind.

She heard scratching on the door, and Sundew stood up to investigate it. She opened the door and saw a SilkWing dragonet, one that looked to be a few months old, looking up at her.

"What?" Sundew said. "Who would leave a dragonet out here? Where are your parents?"

He tilted his head at her. "Hum?"

"Willow!" She called.

"What?" Willow called back.

"We have a... situation." Sundew said.

Willow came into view, with Hazel behind her. "Is that a dragonet?" She asked.

"Yeah." Sundew said. "There's no sign of his parents. It looks like he wandered in here on accident, or he was abandoned."

Willow gasped. "You poor little one!"

Hazel glanced at Sundew. "I can talk to Queen Io and see if any SilkWing is missing their dragonet."

Willow nodded. "Please do."

Hazel walked out of the hut and flew deeper into the jungle.

Willow looked at the dragonet. "We have to do something." She said.

"What do we do?" Sundew asked.

"Well, if no one offers to raise it, we can." Willow said.

"Are you crazy?" Sundew asked.

"Does anyone ever say yes to that question?" Willow replied. "Anyway, he seems to like you."

The dragonet walked forward and rubbed its head on Sundew's leg.

"Awww." Willow said. "See?"

"Fine." Sundew grumbled. "But only if it's parents don't want him back."

Willow picked up the dragonet. "Welcome to the family."

"You don't think it's parents want it back?" Sundew asked.

Willow nodded sadly. "A dragonet wouldn't just have wandered in here. The SilkWings live quite a distance from here. He was probably put here on purpose."

"That's sad." Sundew said. Even though her parents weren't the best, Sundew didn't know how she would have felt if she had been abandoned by them.

"And that's why we should help him." Willow said. "Please, Sundew."

"Okay." Sundew agreed. "He is pretty cute."

The dragonet grinned at her.

"What should we name him?" Willow asked.

"I don't know." Sundew said. "Do you have an idea?"

"Yeah, if you like it." Willow said.

"Let's hear it." Sundew said.

"I think we should call him Skipper." Willow said. "He seems like a Skipper."

"Skipper it is." Sundew said.

"Our son." Willow said.

Sundew grinned and leaned into Willow's side. "Our son." She repeated.

The dragonet hugged them both. "Mama!"

Willow grinned. "He'll fit right in."
