Mark and Lillie are heading towards the Kanto Region, the gem they need to find, the Fighting Gem, is located in Rota Kingdom. As they are flying with the teleport, Lillie is looking at Mark, he seems to enjoy the destruction just like Minami, not only that, all the things he did, they are serious and not a joke in her eyes.

But she can't blame him, as she remembers how she and Ash find Mark and brings him back. They head to the Hoenn Region as they decide to stay a night at the FS Resort. According to his dead mother, Ash has a sibling that is working here.

FS Resort has a good reputation among the tourists, but what Ash and Lillie saw there proved to be opposite, as they can see how the owners of the resort bullied him. Mark had tried so hard to clean the table, but the female owner of the resort spilled the milk on the table on purpose and then yelled at him for not cleaning the table. Not only that, the male owner also pulled some strings while he was performing to the crowd, such as wetting the floor to make him slip, or creating smoke that annoys the crowd.

But still, Ash and Lillie decided to observed some more to see if Mark can handle all the humiliation and the bully he got, but it went too far as he was thrown into a coffin and was sent to sea. Ash quickly jumps into the sea and swims to save him before it is too late. Seeing how Mark passed out and wet, Ash is very angry and he uses Judgement on the resort, causing the resort to get destroyed and some of the tourists are dead for sure. As for the owners, after the resort is gone, Ash and Lillie confront them and they aren't regretting everything they did. In the end, he calls upon Yveltal to give them an Oblivion Wing and he breaks them into pieces with the Focus Blast.

Of course the police arrived at the place after the explosion, but without the evidence, they can't arrest Ash and Lillie, so they help them escort Mark to the hospital for treatment.

Lillie is happy that Mark is saved, but ever since that day, he rarely smiles and he always putting a frown face, and he has a hard time trusting people because of that memory. But she is also happy that he has been taking good care of her and the fact that he has feelings for her, it is also the reason why he can smile when the two of them are alone.

Not to mention, Lillie is also concerned about Serena. It was after she and her family leave to find her father, she gets a call from Mallow and the others, they asked her to come to the Kanto Region because Ash is there. She went there and suddenly Professor Oak and the others threatened her to help them kill Ash's mother. She, of course, didn't want to do anything because Ash is like a family for her as well, but the fact that they could kill her mother makes her scared.

She can't forget the fact that they all laugh as they use the knife to kill Delia, and how Delia gives them a betrayed look...she can't stand it as she quickly runs away. It is a good thing that she has her family's phone number so they can send a helicopter to get her out of the Kanto Region. But the murder of Delia Ketchum, it has haunted her mind and she feels very sorry for Ash. After a few days, Ash did come to her house, but he didn't blame her for his mother's death, and he asks her to join him as he wanted to destroy the world. At first Lillie didn't agree to what Ash is thinking, but the fact that her mother killed herself in order for Lillie and Gladion to be safe, she is full of rage and eventually she agrees to help Ash out.

During the time when they are finding his siblings, Lillie also heard a lot about Serena from Ash, she knows that she has no chance to win Ash's heart, but she wants to help him out as a friend.

"Hey, Lillie." Mark says as Lillie breaks out of the thinking. "Are you okay? We are about to land."

Lillie says, "Oh, I am fine, you don't need to worry about it." Lillie says as they all land at Mt. Moon. Just as they are walking towards the Rota Kingdom, Mark takes a breath and says, "Lillie, can I be honest with you?"

Lillie is surprised and she says, "Sure, what do you want to talk about?"

"What if all of it didn't happen?" Mark says. "I mean...what if your mother isn't dead, and what if I didn't get separated with my Mom since we were little...do you think that things will not be the way like it is now?"

"I am not sure, but there is a high possibility that you were right about that." She closes her eyes and says, "In fact, I have been thinking the same as well. But it sacred me to think of it. What if I have never met you guys? I wouldn't be threatened if I did that, right?"

Mark thinks for a while and says, "Don't say that. I know that our family is the prime target of that sly Oak, but if you didn't meet Brother, then your fear of Pokemon would still be there and your brother might not be home with you as well. Alone is not good for a girl like you."

Lillie nods and they see the gate of Rota in front of them. Mark says, "This Kingdom. Brother has made a deal with Queen Ilene, and because of it, those who lived inside, the Aura Users, wouldn't be hurt by the outer world..."

"Yeah. And I never knew we would need something from it." Lillie says as they approach the gate.

As they walk around the kingdom, they see how many people are playing or dealing, it is like they didn't know what has happened outside of the world. But then again, their hearts are pure and good, they aren't going to be affected by the darkness of human, so why should they care about them being evil?

As they are at the castle, the guard says, "Halt, who are you and what are you doing here?"

Mark says, "Please inform the queen that Mark Ketchum and Lillie Aether are here for a visit. We have some things to discuss with your majesty."

The guard knows that the eldest brother of Ash Ketchum and his friend are here for a visit, he quickly goes into the castle to inform the queen. And of course, Queen Ilene approve of letting them in, so they are escorted to the castle and meet her on the throne.

"Welcome, Mark Ketchum and Lillie Aether. What brings you here to this kingdom?" Ilene asks.

Mark says, "Your highness, we are here because we have something that we need your help."

"And how could I help you with what Team Alpha is doing?" Ilene asks in confusion.

Lillie says, "According to our leader Ash, he thinks that the destruction is about to put into an end. But the mess we made still needs to be cleaned up, so we decide to find all 18 of the Infinity Jewels."

"Infinity Jewels, you say?" Ilene raises her eyebrows and Mark continues, "Yes, your highness. We have split into 6 groups to find these jewels, we have an information that tells us the Fighting Jewel is in your possession. We want to borrow it so that we can restore the environment that we destroyed."

Ilene frowns and says, "I am sorry about that. But as you can see, the barrier of preventing those who aren't aura users into this kingdom is made by the power of the Fighting Gem. Once the gem is gone, then the humans would be able to get in and ruin the kingdom...just like they did to the tree..."

Lillie takes notice of the harsh tone that Ilene gave in the last statement, she frowns as she remembers how tourists wanted to visit Mew in the Tree of Beginning. But due to the fact that some people are devoured by the blood cells that acted as a defense mechanism, they use their only weakness, fire, to destroy them and the tree. Not only Mew gets fever because of the lack of defense, she was also being burned alive until Ash comes and saves her. After Ilene knows the truth, she arrests the tourists and even giving them execution for what they have done to the tree. But even still, the tree is no way to be restored and it pains them a lot. It is then that Ash asks Ilene to use the Fighting Gem to prevent people like them to enter the kingdom. He asks Marshadow to use the Close Combat to activate the Gem and those who have evil hearts will become dust.

Mark says, "We are aware of it. But since Brother is the one that asks you to open the defense mechanism, it is important for him to come up with a plan. He asks Professor Cerise, our main Professor for the Team Alpha, to help us out." He takes out the gem and says, "I know it can't duplicate the appearance of the Fighting Gem, but Brother manages to have it absorbed some powers of the Fighting Gem. We can give you promise that it has the same power to prevent those bad people from getting into the kingdom"

Ilene holds the stone and then checking with the power of aura. She says, "Very well. Please stay here for a moment and I'll go switch the two stones."

Once Ilene leaves, Lillie finds that both herself and Mark are alone again, so she decides to ask him a question, "Mark, I have a question to ask you."

"What is it?" Mark asks, confusing why she has to ask at this time.

"Well, I noticed that you were cold against everyone, but when it was me, you smiled. I want to know...why me? Why not smiling to your siblings or Ash?"

Mark starts to blush a little as he turns away. He says, "I don't want to see you cry, because it pains me when you were crying. So I thought...if I smile more often for you...then you wouldn't be so sad to cry..."

Mark takes a deep breath and says, "And you are right, maybe I should smile to my siblings as well, so they wouldn't need to worry about me as well."

Lillie blushes a little and she smiles, "Thank you for telling me about this. When all of it is over, how about we go on a date?"

Mark smiles back and says, "I will like to. It will be fun."

At the same time, Ilene comes back and she teases, "Seems like there is a cute couple going on here." The two of them blush a little and Ilene giggles, "Relax, I am not going to tease you. I am sure that you two will be happy together."

"Thanks, your highness." The two of them bow as Ilene gives them the Fighting Gem. "Please use it wisely and I hope everything will be fine."

"We will." Lillie says as she and Mark then leave the castle as they are going to search for another Gem.
