"Where is everybody? Where do you all go?" In the forest of the Kanto Region, a young girl with blonde hair covered by a straw hat and pink dress wanders around the forest with fear in her eyes. Suddenly, a Poliwag appears, which causes her to fall to the ground and hurt her knee.

The young girl is scared and tears are forming in her eyes, "I knew I should have come to this Summer Camp... Mother... where are you?!" The young girl starts to cry with tears.

"Poliwag, where are you?" As the bush is shaking, the girl curls at the tree with fear. A boy emerges from the bushes and spots her. He smiles and says, "Are you alright?"

As the boy stops in front of her, he says, "I am Ash. What's wrong?"

The girl looks at her knee while trying to stop crying, "I... I hurt my leg..."

Ash notices the blood coming from her knee, then he takes out a handkerchief and then ties it around her knee. "See, it is better, now watch this, Pain Pain go away!" He says as he waves his arms.

The girl tries to move her leg, but she winces as the pain is still there. "It's still hurt..."

Ash takes out his hand and says, "Come on, don't give up until it is over." He pulls her up and holds her in his arms, causing her to blush.

"See, you did it." Ash says while grinning, "Let's get back to the camp."

The two of them walk together back to the camp, and the young girl has a blush on her face.

After that day, Ash decides to bring the girl to his house, it turns out that her name is Serena. Serena is a shy girl, thus she doesn't have that many friends, so Ash wants to be her first friend. She has a mother named Grace, and she's a famous Rhyhorn Racer.

A few days after with the Summer Camp ended, Serena and her mother are going back to the Alola Region, which is actually where they are from. Wanting to bid them farewell, Delia and Ash arrive at Serena's house, Delia knocks on the door and finds that nobody is answering.

"Maybe they're not home..." Delia frowns. "Grace? It's me, Delia. Is anyone home?"

Ash notices the blood on the window as he widens his eyes, and Delia turns the knob, finds it unlocked, and opens the door. Much to their horror, Serena and her mother are lying on the ground with blood. Serena's chest has the knife, while her mother has blood leaking from her neck.

"Serena!" Ash rushes forward and tries to check the pulse, but much to his horror, there is no pulse left for her. "Why did you have to leave us just like dad... why?"

Ash rushes away with tears in his eyes, Delia yells, "Ash! Wait!"

Delia quickly checks the pulses and finds that both of them are still alive, she quickly contacts the Aether Foundation and a blonde-haired woman rushes at them and says, "What happened to Lillie and Lusamine?"

"They tried to commit suicide..." Delia says to the woman. "Ruka... you have to save Lillie and Lusamine."

"Of course, I will... just because Mohn disappeared..." Ruka mutters with slight anger.

Delia frowns, she knows how Lusamine feels because she also misses her husband Adam. But right now she has to find Ash, and when she rushes back to the house, she finds that Ash has been crying on his bed.

"Ash...come here." Delia says to him with a soothing voice, and Ash hugs his mother with tears in his eyes, "Mom... why did bad things happen to us? First Dad is gone, and then Serena is gone too... why? I feel like I'm cursed!"

Delia frowns, she wants to tell her son that Serena, or Lillie as Ash doesn't know her real name, is not actually dead yet, she says, "They will be back to us... once you become a Pokemon Master, I'm sure they will return and share the happiness with you. So please, Ash. Don't cry anymore..."

Ash sniffs as he can only nod, but since that day, he is not acting like himself. Professor Oak and Gary are worried about him, and it takes 6 months for him to heal from the pain in his heart.

A year later, Professor Oak brings Delia to the lab. Delia asks, "What's wrong, Professor?"

"Delia. I want you guys to see this." When Professor Oak opens the door, Delia widens her eyes to see a blonde-haired man sitting on the bed. The man notices Delia and says, "Delia! Is that you?"

"Mohn? What are you doing here?" Delia asks with surprise. "Aren't you supposed to be staying in the Aether Foundation?"

Mohn frowns and says, "It was an accident... I was trapped inside an Ultra Wormhole for 3 years without returning to the Aether Foundation, and for some reason, I was released from the hell-like place and landed here..."

Delia gasps and says, "You're trapped inside the Wormhole for 3 years? Have you tried to contact Lusamine about the news? She would be happy to see you again!"

Mohn frowns and says, "Please don't... I don't know if I can meet her or my family again... they probably thought I'm dead... I don't know what would happen if they see me again..."

Delia frowns and says, "I see... I think I might understand how they feel... My husband was also gone because of the Ultra Wormhole created by Team Rocket 3 years ago. If I find him safe all this time, I would also be mad at him as well for making us worried..."

"Wait, you mean Adam was suffering the same way as me?" Mohn asks with shock.

Delia has tears in her eyes and mutters, "Yeah... you didn't meet him inside the wormhole, have you?"

"No... time is weird in the wormhole... to you, it has been 3 years, but to me, it only feels like 30 minutes..." Mohn says, "I didn't meet anyone... except for a Nihilego that was by my side..."

"I see..." Delia says.

After that day, Mohn decides to stay at Kanto as Professor Oak's assistant and also help Delia take care of Ash until he becomes a trainer.

At the same time in the Aether Foundation, Ruka finds an old man that looks like Ash standing at the beach. She asks, "Adam? Is that you?"

Adam turns around and sees Ruka, he says, "Ruka! Thank goodness there is someone I know here..."

"What do you mean by that? Where have you been? Delia has been worried about you being missing for 3 years!" Ruka says.

"3 years? You say three years have passed? But to me... it only feels like 30 minutes..." Adam says.

"What are you talking about? Are you fine, Adam?" Ruka asks with concern.

"Take me to the Aether Foundation... it will be better if we explain everything there." Adam says.

After bringing Adam to the Aether Foundation, he gets to meet Lillie and Gladion, as well as Lusamine, who is sitting at her office door. Both Lusamine and Lillie are fully healed, but both of them don't have memories of the Kanto Region anymore. Lusamine says, "So Adam, what do you remember?"

Adam says, "I remember that 30 minutes ago, or maybe 3 years if you say so... My family and I were fighting against Team Rocket, who attacks me and my family. Team Rocket manages to have some sort of technology that can open the Ultra Wormholes... and I was sucked inside one."

Every one of them widens their eyes, and Lusamine says, "Ultra Wormholes? But how? Only we have the machine to open the Ultra Wormholes! How did Team Rocket get their hands on them?"

Ruka says, "It is obvious... there is a spy of Team Rocket inside the foundation. We need to get that spy out of the foundation."

"We will do that. We also need to contact Delia to let her know that Adam is safe." Lusamine says.

"Wait, please don't." Adam says as he stops her. "I don't know if I can meet her or my family again... they probably thought I'm dead... I don't know what would happen if they see me again..."

Lusamine frowns, "I see... I think I might understand how they feel... My husband was also gone because of a failed experiment regarding the Ultra Wormholes. If I find him safe all this time, I would also be mad at him as well for making us worried..."

"Wait, you mean Mohn was suffering the same way as me?" Adam asks with shock.

Ruka says, "Two people get into the wormhole almost at the same time... however, we don't know if the time flow is actually the same in each wormhole... You didn't meet him inside, right?"

"Of course not... inside the wormhole, there is nothing but a lot of Unown..." Adam says.

"So you were teleported to the Unown Dimension..." Lusamine says. "Anyway, if you're not planning to return to Kanto or contact Delia and the others, how about working here in the Aether Foundation until you're ready?"

Adam sighs and says, "I guess it's fine for me."

And it turns out that the spy inside the lab is actually their head scientist Faba. During the fight with him, he opens the wormhole again and Lillie was about to be taken by the Nihilego coming from it... until a Pokemon known as Silvally manages to stop it from taking Lillie away.

Faba is kicked out of the Aether Foundation and is arrested by the police, but after that incident, Lillie is scared to touch Pokemon. Adam decides to stay and take over Faba's role and thus tries to help Lillie with conquering her fear of touching Pokemon.

A year later, it is time for Ash to travel around the region. Because Ash overslept, he only gets Pikachu as the Starter Pokemon. Pikachu also refuses to listen to him at first, but after the Spearow incident, they learn to trust each other. On his journey, he also gains two travel companions: Misty and Brock. Misty only comes because of her bike, and she has been annoying to him because of her fear of Bug Type Pokemon. As for Brock, the only downside of him is the fact that he has been flirting with girls.

Ash is not happy with his Kanto performance, because 5 of the badges are pity badges, and he didn't even get to the top 8 because Charizard refused to listen to him. He knows for sure that he can win the Pokemon League if Charizard listens to him. And then he decides to take on the Orange League instead, and win it in the end.

After the Orange Island journey, he learns that Gary is going to take on the Johto League, so Ash decides to go there as well. Much like his travels through Kanto, Ash, Misty, and Brock impacted the many people and Pokémon they met along the way. And in the League, Ash wins against Gary in the end and also reaches the top, eventually winning the League and becoming the League Champion of Johto. Though after returning to Kanto, Brock and Misty leave because of their own reasons, and Ash is heading back to Pallet Town himself.

Okay, here is the first Chapter of A Secret Relationship. A story that I've been rewriting. With Scarlet and Violet added into the story, a lot of things are going to change, and this first chapter gives the prologue of the whole story. I hope you like this chapter and the next chapter will begin the story of love and romance between Ash and Lillie.
