I need it to rain today. The sun is way too harsh, and I'm dehydrated. I need the roaring sound of a force greater than this heat, I'm parched. I'm afraid, I may not survive this drought. It's getting hotter, I feel my heart disintegrate into a million broken pieces, left out to melt under the unforgiving sun.

I need it to rain today, I need these tears to be washed away, and not dried up in the heat, the heat steals even my pain. I feel neither good nor bad, I really need the rain.

And I've never loved the cold, nor the wind, not the water, I never learned to swim. Now, I long for it. To hear the sounds of the pelts hit my roof, anything other than these voices saying I can't do it– anything but the silence.

I'm passed out on the scorching ground, vulnerable to the blazing heat, and I feel my blood boiling, I feel my lungs breaking– I've reached my limit. So, I need it to rain; hard. Harder than ever before, filling me through all these unseen cracks.

And if it were any other day, if I hadn't been tossed around and crushed, beaten beyond repair, perhaps I could endure just a little bit longer. But I'm hurt, and empty, and I have nothing left to give.

So just for today, I need it to rain.
