It'd be pretty funny if a knight showed up to a Medieval jousting tournament and, having misunderstood the instructions, brought a guy named Lance as his weapon.  It's be even funnier if he still entered the contest and actually used his buddy like a jousting lance and attempted to unhorse his opponents with him.  Well, it probably wouldn't be so funny for Lance, but it would be hilarious for the rest of us.
