It's that time of year when you get bombarded with Christmas carols and I can't help but notice "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" is oddly aggressive.  Even at the beginning when all they're doing is wishing you holiday greetings it's delivered in a manner like you're going to take this Merry Christmas wish whether you like it or not.  And, oh yeah, here's a happy new year for you, too!  Then when you get to the later verses where they start demanding figgy pudding, it gets even more overt.  I don't know about you, but I don't have any figgy pudding on hand and I don't know where to get any.  Since they explicitly threaten they're not going to leave until they get some damn figgy pudding, they've basically got you in a hostage situation at this point.  I suppose you could try to buy them off with some eggnog or fruitcake or something, but you really shouldn't negotiate with terrorists.  It's best just not to engage with these people in the first place.
