PAIN (Rhythmic Narrative)

If you've never felt hurt
Then you've never lived
If no one has ever broken your trust
You have no cause to grieve.

They say without pain, no gain
But I say without pain, you remain sane.
You get to hold on to your sanity
Because once that emotion sets in, its insanity.

How does love turn to hate?
And dating your ex was never your fate?
But now I guess its too late
You and your baggage locked outside his gate.

The ache in your chest is a constant reminder
Of how broken you were left
The pastor may scream Satan get behind her!
But the demons come rushing in through the cleft.

With tears in your eyes, unsaid words in your mouth
You try to decide which way to go
The cardinals; East, West, North or south.
All you know is you can't go home.

Mama begged you not to go with him,
Papa warned that you leave and never return,
Instead you chose to follow your whim
And now your life has taken a deep turn.

Ending up by the road side at berger
Rats and roaches your greatest companions.
You wonder if you should go and beg her
After all papa is gone and so are his opinions.
