<Started recording at 13:00>
*beep*

Erm...hello? This is my first time using 'Memories'. Yeah, Doctor Taki taught me how to use it. It's a voice recording app that acts as a vocal diary. Everything's just so new to me- having my first phone, etcetera.

I guess I better start from the start if I want to record this so that I can listen to it in the future. Although I will never forget this day.

When I woke up, I heard Doctor Mitsuha's high heels click-clacking on the floor and someone else entering my room with her.

"Good morning, Sora. Doctor Taki from the medical-tech team is with me today."

"Good morning, Doctor Mitsuha, Doctor Taki," Doctor Mitsuha's voice seemed to be more high-pitched than normal.

"I have good news! The medical-tech team has created an app to help you see!"

It was rare for Doctor Mitsuha to speak with so many exclamation marks.

"It's just a prototype now, but it should work. We would like you to be our beta-tester," a deep voice added.

She handed me a slick, cold, flat piece of metal.

"This is a phone. The app is in there with some other apps for you. You need to put this pair of goggles on."

Doctor Mitsuha tells me to hold still while she places the goggles on and tightens the straps so that it wouldn't fall off. Then, Doctor Taki takes the phone from my hands and suddenly, I could see a screen.

I could see! Do you know how happy I was?!

After many years of pitch darkness, I could see!

"There's a control on the right strap, can you feel it? Great! Now, there's a round stick for you that allows you to control the phone's screen. Do you see a white square? That's the camera app- it allows you to see. Click on that app."

I followed Doctor Taki's instructions and the sight took my breah away.

A lady and man were on the screen. Doctor Mitsuha was beautiful- her dark bob framed her face and warm brown eyes perfectly. Doctor Taki just looked like he didn't get enough sleep, with his dark eyebags and messy hair.

"Can you see us?" Doctor Mitsuha asked with a megawatt smile.

"Yeah! I can see you! Thank you!" My cheeks felt wet but strangely, the screen wasn't blurry.

Doctor Mitsuha read me some books and the characters' line of sight was always blurry when they cried.

She wrapped her arms around me and enveloped me in a tight hug.

"How does this thing work? Isn't the screen supposed to be blurry?"

"Erm...it's conplicated. But basically, we didn't heal your eyes, we just made the phone your eyes...does that make sense?"

I shrugged.

Either way, I could see! Finally!

After seeing darkness for so long, I would never have expected to be able to see colours.

"...May I see how I look...?"

I had never seen myself. I never knew how I looked like.

Doctor Mitsuha nodded and smiled as she helped me out of the bed.

I had some difficulty regaining my equilibrium as the goggles felt heavy.

Doctor Mitsuha guided me to the bathroom which was located in a corner of the room.

Seeing the empty table and chair at another corner of the room, the pictures that I couldn't have seen until today and the railings that snaked across all the walls, I felt a smile mateialising on my face.

I would never have envisioned myself seeing anything in my life. My condition made me permanently blind anyway.

We entered the bathroom and I caught sight of myself in the mirror above the sink.

Hair clung to my neck and I had dots all over my face. My hair was almost the same colour as Doctor Mitsuha's.

I wondered how my eyes looked like but I couldn't see them as they were blocked by the goggles- my artificial "eyes".

Maybe one day, when technology is so advanced this prototype is developed into something where I could use my fake pair of "eyes" to see the real ones.

After that, Doctor Mitsuha and Doctor Taki took me to the cafeteria for breakfast.

The food looked so delicious! Doctor Taki told me that there was a button for mento capture pictures so that I could capture these images or memories and remember them!

So I took a picture of what I ate. It looked and tasted good!

It was after that when Doctor Taki proceeded to elaborate on the phone and its functions.

It acts like a normal phone. (I've never had one so I don't know what's considered 'normal')

There's an app store so I can download games and other apps. There's also this thing called the Google Chrome so I can use it to find information and theres NicoStream, which allows me to watch videos as if I'm in a cinema (Doctor Taki's words, not mine).

NicoStream seems interesting. The app design is really cool too.

Doctor Taki told me how to take something called a 'screenshot' and how to crop a picture so this is how the app looks:

I'm going to watch something on NicoStream tonight or tomorrow. I just don't know what...

Oh, Doctor Mitsuha is calling me for a checkup so I gotta go!

"Mitsuha-sensei, chottomatte kudasai!"

Let me just upload a picture of the sky that I took. Doctor Mitsuha says that Sora, my name, means 'Sky'

"Sora-chan, are you done?"

"Yeah! Coming!"
