S4 E7 Everypony! Rarity Takes Manehattan is up next!

Malibu was sleeping in his bed one morning at Sweet Apple Acres when he was startled awake by the frantic ringing of the bell, wondering what the emergency was. It was only him and AJ here at the barn while the others were out for the day.

He ran down as fast as he could, quickly eating an apple as he raced outside, seeing the rest of his friends coming along.

"Attention! This is a Sweet Apple Acres code red! I need all hooves—and claws—on deck!" Applejack called out, her face rather frantic.

Malibu panted before speaking. "Hey, calm down, what's going on?" He asked, the others having questioning looks too.

Applejack glared at him. "Calm down?! How can I calm down at a time like this?! Vampire fruit bats are attacking Sweet Apple Acres!" She growled.

It made the gargoyle clone blink, for he had never seen one before. "Huh?"

Twilight raised her brow. "But I thought the fruit bats usually stayed put in the west orchard." She said.

Applejack nodded. "The fruit bats do, but these aren't just your everyday ordinary fruit bats. They're vampire fruit bats!" She explained ominously. "I'll be darned if they think they're gonna sink their teeth into my blue ribbon apple." She pulled a blanket off of a huge apple dangling from one of the the trees.

Malibu, Twilight and the others all stared in amazement at the size of the thing. To Malibu it really looked good enough to eat. "Awesome!" Spike praised.

The cow mare polished the apple with her tail. "This here's our entry into the Appleloosa State Fair's produce competition. You know how much TLC goes into getting an apple to grow like this?"

Rarity couldn't help but look at herself in the surface of the apple. "Applejack! When you go big, you really go big!"

Malibu nodded. "Yeah, I've never seen one that size before. But what do you want to do with those bats about it?"

Applejack though stood protectively near it. "I won't let them vampire bats shrivel it up like a raisin!" She said bravely.

Fluttershy walked up timidly. "Oh, I'm sure if we just let them know how specoal that big apple is to you, they'll leave it alone."

Malibu saw Applejack look unconvinced but she allowed it. "Yeah, right. Be my guest." He decided to go with Fluttershy to meet these vampire bats himself.

He looked into the tree to see some red eyes glancing down at him, Fluttershy's ears lowered. "Um, excuse me, Mr. Vampire Bat—."

The two jumped back from an apple splattering on the ground, the bat hissing at them. "We were just wondering if maybe you wouldn't mind leaving that really big apple alone?" Fluttershy asked, smiling. Malibu waited expectantly, feeling tensed until the bat started spitting seeds in their way. Malibu quickly ran for it, Fluttershy following.

Applejack's eyes were wide in hopefulness. "Well, what did he say?"

Fluttershy shrugged. "Uh, yes." Applejack grinned at that. "But... it could have been a no."

Malibu moaned with Applejack. Fluttershy seemed to have a good explanation though. "This is the very first vampire fruit bat I've ever met and, well, it might take some time for me to really understand their language."

The teal alicorn put a wing around her. "You did your best." He encouraged, making her smile at him.

Applejack raised her brow. "Uh-huh. And in the meantime, this pest and his vermin friends are gonna go after my prized apple and, while they're at it, every other apple in the orchard! These vampire bats are nothin' but a bunch of monsters!"

Those words from Applejack startled Malibu, surprised she would even use that word. "Monsters?! Oh, that's a bit harsh, don't you think?" Fluttershy asked in defense. Applejack stomped her hoof. "No, I do not!" She soon began to sing her side of the story.

[Applejack]

Those vampire bats will give you a fright

Eating apples both day and night

They rest for a minute, maybe three

Then they're eatin' every apple in your apple tree

They don't care about nada, not zilch, no, nothin'

'Cept bringin' about an orchard's destruction

(Fluttershy)

Now wait just a minute, there's another side to this

And if I did not defend them, then I would be remiss

These bats are mamas and papas too

They care for their young just like we ponies do

Malibu turned to one tree to see a male and female vampire bat next to a little one who made him crack a small smile.

Applejack huffed, shaking her head.

Oh, give me a break, you're bein' too kind

These creatures have a one-track mind

The orchard is not their restaurant

but do they ever think what others may want?

No! They don't! And that is just a fact

These bats, they simply don't know how to act!

She swiped at a pair who were fighting over an apple, the two vampire bats flying away. Fluttershy had her turn next

That's where I have to disagree

They're loyal to their families

Spreading seeds both far and wide

Applejack interrupted, Malibu's ears lowered, not sure what to do for this scenario. He could see both sides but was unsure who to side with. Malibu wondered what his mother would do too.

You see one comin', you better run and hide!

They're big and ugly and mean as sin!

Will ya look at the state my trees are in?

The 6 others gazed out at the orchard which was still rather shriveled up until Fluttershy tried doing another positive side.

They help your trees, they'll grow stronger and faster

Applejack shook her head, cutting off Fluttershy.

They've turned my life into a total disaster!

To Malibu's surprise, his other friends including Rainbow Dash began to side with Applejack, singing their own lines.

Rarity

Well, I for one don't have a doubt

These vermin must be stamped right out

Rainbow Dash

I second that, they've got to go

These bats, they've got to hit the road!

Applejack stood determinedly, her mind now made up.

It comes down, to just one simple fact

They've crossed the line, it's time to fight them back!

Malibu and Fluttershy stood side by side, the others alongside Spike sang the final lines.

Stop the bats! Stop the bats!

Make them go and not come back!

Stop the bats! Stop the bats!

Make them go and not come back!

Stop the bats! Stop the bats!

Make them go and not come back!

Applejack had a deep glare on her face, Fluttershy cowering.

Yes, it comes down to just one simple fact

They've crossed the line, it's time that we attack!

Rarity helped Fluttershy to her hooves after the song was done. "I'm sorry, Fluttershy, but I believe Applejack has made the better argument. These vampire fruit bats sound downright dreadful."

AJ nodded. "But Malibu, you now have the final say as Prince. What do you agree with?" They all glanced at Malibu who was feeling uncomfortable, Fluttershy's eyes pleading at him to say no. But with the look from his mare friend who loved cider, he sighed.

"I-I I gotta side with Applejack Fluttershy, since I help her here on the farm." Malibu said softly, wings lowered to the ground. Fluttershy moaned, not liking this.

Applejack was pleased from his words. "Perfect! So let's get to roundin' them up so they don't destroy the rest of my orchard!"

Pinkie Pie bounced nearby. "Fruit bat round-up, fruit bat round-up!" She sang to a very familiar tune that made Malibu smile on the inside.

Fluttershy tried one more time. "Um, excuse me, but, um, what if instead rounding them up, we... let them have part of the orchard?"

It made Applejack look mortified. "Have you lost your pest-lovin' mind?!" She hollered. Malibu though liked it but he stayed silent this time.

"They're only here because they're hungry! If we build a sanctuary for them, they could have their own apples to enjoy! After a while, they could even help the rest of your orchard! The vampire bats don't eat the seeds of the apples, and when they spit them out, they grow into even more productive apple trees!" She gestured to one that was rather healthy, the apples ripe and juicy.

Applejack sighed but didn't go for it. "Listen, Fluttershy, that sounds real nice 'n' all, but every second we spend buildin' this so-called 'sanctuary' is a second they'll spend destroyin' orchards! You don't know what it was like the last time there was an infestation, but Granny Smith has told me enough stories about it that just the thought of it gives me nightmares!"

She began to tell the story, which caused Malibu's eyes to glow, seeing what it looked like back in the day. "We lost a huge section of orchard that year. They had to ration out apples all winter." Applejack explained, until the flashback ended, Malibu rubbing his head again.

Rainbow's eyes were panicked. "What about the cider? There was still cider right?!"

Her friend glared. "Not... a... drop."

That did it for Malibu's mare friend. "NO CIDER?! NO CIDER?! We need to round up these monsters and we need to do it now!"

Malibu flew up to her, glaring too. "Hold it, we need to be rational...!" He was cut off.

"No rationality Malibu! If Granny Smith wasn't with Applebloom and Big Mac checkin' out our produce competition in Appleloosa, she'd be here tellin' us to do just that!"

Twilight nodded. "I'm sorry, Fluttershy and Malibu, but I think Applejack is right. I just wish there was a way we could convince them not to eat them in the first place." She tapped her chin then her eyes brightened. "Maybe there is...!"

....

The gang grouped together to talk it over that afternoon. "So there's good news and bad news. The good news is that I found a spell that can get the vampire fruit bats to stop wanting to suck the juice from the apples. But in order for the spell to work, I need the bats' full and complete attention," Twilight then explained, looking over to Fluttershy who realized what she was talking about.

She gasped in fear. "Oh no."

"Fluttershy, I need you to do your Stare on the bats." Twilight said, which made Malibu feel pretty frustrated at this idea.

He narrowed his eyes, wanting to say his negative thoughts for the plan. "Guys, I don't want to force Fluttershy into doing something like this! I'm sure there is some other way!"

Fluttershy stood next to him, nodding timidly.

But Rainbow Dash however only had cider on her mind when arguing back. "What's the problem? You've used the Stare plenty of times before!"

The yellow Pegasus sighed. "Yes, but it is not something I take lightly. I've made a vow not to use it except in dire circumstances."

Malibu smiled at how brave she had become since he had first met her until Applejack ruined the moment. "This circumstance is plenty dire to me!" She snapped.

Rainbow's eyes were filled with desperation. "Me too! Think of the cider! Won't somepony please think of the cider?!" She wailed, Malibu rolling his eyes. "You really need to lay off the cider Dash," He grumbled to his mare friend who flushed.

Fluttershy shook her head again. "I'm sorry. I just don't like the idea of taking away the thing that really makes the vampire fruit bats vampire fruit bats! It just... feels... wrong!" She whimpered.

Twilight then said the words that put the nail in the coffin for Fluttershy's argument. "But if we don't do this, there won't be any apples left for anypony here in Ponyville. Doesn't that feel wrong too?"

All of them were looking expectantly at Fluttershy who was shaking, unsure what to say, as well as Malibu. This was clearly a you have no choice scenario for Fluttershy.

.....

They allowed Fluttershy to think it over and she came back sometime later on in the day, her eyes looking troubled but having made her decision. Malibu hoped she did the right thing.

Applejack narrowed. "So what's it gonna be, Fluttershy? Will you do your Stare on the bats or not?"

Fluttershy took some time to speak until she sighed. "Um... Um... ok, I'll do it."

Malibu's inside twisted in sympathy for her being forced to agree with this. Even though he was a prince, he didn't want to run out of Apples for Ponyville either so he too reluctantly agreed to do it.

Rarity smiled. "Good choice. I knew you wouldn't side with those icky bats!" She whimpered, Malibu frowning, his ears picking up Fluttershy saying "They're not icky."

Rainbow flew up into the air, twirling around. "First round of cider's on me!"

Applejack held her hoof up. "Hold it right there! We've gotta round up these beasts with wings first. Time's a-wastin! And Malibu, you and Twilight can help with your alicorn magic."

Twilight and Malibu both nodded, going on their way while the others did their own styles of catching the bats. Malibu cringed when coming across a couple. "I'm sorry guys." He apologized, shooting a spell to levitate the bats in a magic bubble. The bats squeaked in fury at him, fluttering around but couldn't get out.

He brought them to the tree where the others laid apples as bait for the bats, lowering the magic bubble which caused the bats to begin eating. Malibu sat down miserably, hating himself. Rainbow Dash for a moment spotted how upset her coltfriend looked, forgetting her cider obsession for once, rubbing his back comfortingly.

Applejack looked proud. "Good work, everypony! I think we've got 'em all! Now all we need is for you to do your stare!" She said to Fluttershy.

She trembled. "Oh, um, are you sure I really need—?" The others minus Malibu all nodded. "Ok." The shy Pegasus flew to the group of bats. "I really, really, really hate to do this to you... I just hope you can forgive me..." Flutter concentrated then penetrated the bats with her famous Stare, the bats hissing before getting caught in her gaze, rather still.

It made APplejack smile more excitedly. "Good. Now you go, Twilight." The princess nodded. "Alright." She shut her eyes, the spell radiating from her horn, Malibu watching in awe but also fear as the magic waves went through the bats, illuminating them up, even Fluttershy.

Eventually Twilight stopped the spell but Malibu noticed Fluttershy seemingly stuck on her stare. "You can stop now Fluttershy," He called out, snapping her out of it.

Spike rubbed his hands. "Did it work?" He asked nervously.

Applejack glared. "We're about to find out."

Rainbow Dash held out an apple to a bat who sniffed it once, chittered, turning and flying away in disgust. It worked. She cheered and whooped. "Mah crop is saved! Yee-haw!" Applejack cheered too. Rainbow held her cheeks. "We'll be drinking cider all winter long!"

Fluttershy to Malibu seemed rather dazed still, staring into the distance while Applejack thanked her. "I wanna thank you for your help. I couldn't have done it without you."

Spike however took the praise. "Aw, don't mention it, Applejack. It was my pleasure, really!" It made Malibu smack him on the head, rubbing it in pain.

"Now all we gotta do is sweep up these cores so I can start buckin' fresh tomorrow mornin'!" Applejack exclaimed, though Malibu feared for the bats' hunger, wondering what they would eat now, unaware of Fluttershy having sniffed an apple nearby.

Later that night, Malibu had been tossing and turning in his dreams, dreaming of a giant yellow bat who hissed, sucking the apples in the fields, its red eyes turned to his direction.

Malibu screamed, jerking awake, a hoof on his chest. He hoped all of that dream wasn't going to be real.

....

But when Applejack tried again, there were even more apple cores than ever before, calling everypony back for inspection.

Twilight and Malibu studied the core with two big tooth holes in it. "The spell didn't work!" She said in disbelief.

Applejack was rather pissed. "You're darn tootin' the spell didn't work! I think we need to take more extreme measures!"

Rainbow Dash nodded before Malibu argued back about this. "I hear ya, Applejack! C'mon, everypony! Let's track down those vampire bats!"

The gang all found them soon, just hanging around doing nothing apparently. Malibu decided to try one out, holding an apple to one. "Uh, hey, want a nice apple?" He asked nervously.

The bat who was reading a book just smacked the apple away, squeaking in irritation. The apple landed on Rarity's horn.

"It seems the spell worked after all," He called down to them, Applejack stroking her chin. "Wait a minute... I don't think these bats are the ones who sucked my apples dry."

Rarity pulled the apple off her horn. "But if the vampire bats aren't eating the apples..."

Twilight Sparkle looked a little worried. "Who is?" She glanced at Fluttershy. "Fluttershy. You are our animal expert. Do you know of any other creature that might be capable of this?"

Fluttershy shook her head. "I'm sorry. I don't."

Malibu swished his tail. "Whoever it is, we'll have to catch it in the act, right?" He asked, feeling relieved that the bats weren't the cause.

Rarity raised her brow. "And how exactly do you propose we do that?"

Twilight had her detective look on her face. "A stakeout...!" She said ominously. Malibu felt excited now at the idea of another adventure but this time in the orchard, but nervous too if this thing was more deadly than the bats.

....

It was now midnight, the Mane 7 and Spike all wandering through the fields, the full moon high. Rainbow Dash rubbed her hooves. "The witching hour..." She spookily said, an owl hooting nearby. Malibu tensed up, his neck fur tingling, glaring at Dash. "Can you maybe not do that?"

Fluttershy was even more scared. "Maybe we should just call this off. Not sure about the rest of you guys, but I'm..." Malibu noted her staring hypnotized at an apple. "Really... hungry..." Her mouth watered then she shook herself out of it.

Rarity smiled reassuringly. "Oh, Fluttershy, it'll be ok. Don't forget darling, we're all in this together."

Twilight nodded. "That's right. Nopony leaves this orchard until we solve this mystery. Agreed?"

They all inclined their heads. "Agreed!"

"Everypony have their signals?" Applejack asked, Malibu turning his horn on, revealing his cross cutie mark in the sky, the other unicorns doing so as well as Pinkie Pie with a flashlight. "Now remember, Pinkie Pie, only use the signal if you see somethin' suspicious."

Pinkie shone the light right into her eyes. "I got it. Something suspicious..." Applejack collapsed from the bright light, Malibu snickering softly.

Pinkie Pie though caught Fluttershy sniffing another apple. "Whatcha doin'?!" Fluttershy jumped, walking off, her ears low.

Applejack frowned. "Alright, now everypony split up. We'll each patrol our own row of the orchard. Whoever, or whatever's destroyin' my apples has gotta be here somewhere."

Malibu nodded, going off his own way, shaking a little at every noise that came until a hiss sounded with a slurp, an apple core falling at his hooves, causing Malibu to jerk back. "Who's out there?" He demanded, lighting up his horn, seeing a dark looking shadow fly by him until red eyes came out, hissing, knocking Malibu to the ground.

It made him yelp out from the assault, wondering what earth it could be, until he saw Applejack's signal from afar. He ran over to inspect it. Twilight was there too. "Applejack, what is it?"

Applejack couldn't speak, staring open mouthed, an apple core hitting Twilight on the head. Malibu looked up in fear, gasping, Pinkie Pie shining her light hanging by her tail. "Suspicious!"

For the one responsible for the apples was nopony other than... Fluttershy! Her red eyes glared at them all, hissing with two fangs in her mouth.

Malibu's jaw dropped too, wondering what on earth could have even caused this, for his best friend was turned into a bat! She sucked out an apple again. "Fluttershy? Yoo-hoo! Fluttershy!" Pinkie called until Fluttershy hissed again, making Pinkie Pie flop down.

Rarity lowered her ears. "That's not Fluttershy! That's Flutterbat!" She pointed out the obvious.

"We gotta change her back to normal!" Malibu yelled in fury, hating seeing Fluttershy looking this way.

The white unicorn tried to have Flutterbat come down now. "Fluttershy, sweetness, please come down. And do stop being a vampire bat!"

All Flutterbat did was hiss in response, sucking out another apple. Rainbow Dash now tried next. "Fluttershy! It's me Rainbow Dash! Why don't you quit the bat act and come on down?!"

Once again the pony turned vampire pony hissed, flapping her wings this time, making Rainbow Dash yelp. Malibu quickly caught her before she spiraled out of control. "Perhaps yelling isn't such a good idea," He said. Dash agreed. "Yeah, we should just let her come down when she's ready."

Flutterbat at those words took off into the sky, Malibu flinching when she flapped quickly past them, Pinkie Pie ready to panic. "Flutterbat on the loose! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!" She began to run, her hooves digging into the dirt.

Twilight's eyes were worried but she stayed calm. "Pinkie Pie, calm down!"

Malibu nodded. "Fluttershy isn't going to hurt us." He stated but Pinkie trembled. "How do you know?! She's just biding her time, waiting for the right moment to pounce!" She shrilled.

Applejack sighed. "Pinkie Pie, bats don't eat ponies. Not even vampire bats."

Pinkie was shaking. "But maybe vampire ponies eat other ponies! I'm not taking any chances!" She turned her mane into a drill, digging her way into the dirt, Malibu staring and wondering how she could even do that, and if the guards of Luna from before really were vampire bat ponies.

Rarity let loose a despaired sound. "How did this happen? That's what I don't understand!"

Malibu shook his head, hoof palming. "You guys for real?! It is all our fault!" More the rest of yours than mine really... he added silently but didn't want to rub anymore salt into the wound.

Twilight agreed. "Yes, what Malibu said."

Applejack raised her brow. "And how'd ya figure that?"

It made the princess smile, using her magic to make a light grid which she used to display the events. "Okay, so this is me, these are the bats, and this is Fluttershy doing her Stare. The spell was supposed to go onto the bats like this. But somehow the spell must've backfired. It took the vampire fruit bats' desire to be vampire fruit bats and transferred that desire into Fluttershy!"

The light grid disappeared, Malibu blinking, hoping now they wouldn't lose Fluttershy from this terrible spell, his heart racing, looking back at Flutterbat who was hanging on the tree branch again.

"Come on, we'll reverse the spell and make it right!" Twilight cheered, Pinkie Pie popping up from the ground at that moment startling Malibu and Rarity. "Then what are we waiting for? Let's save Fluttershy before that thing eats us all!"

Flutterbat hissed, taking off again. "Hit the deck!" Yelled Rainbow Dash, Malibu ducking and covering himself as Flutterbat flew over them.

"Follow that bat!" Pinkie Pie yelled out, the others following her but soon they couldn't find Fluttershy anywhere. Malibu flew about in the air, keeping his eyes open. "I can't believe we lost her!" Rarity exclaimed.

Twilight glanced about. "Oh Fluttershy where are you?"

Malibu heard a hiss right then and there behind him. "Look out!" He turned from Applejack's voice, eyes rounding as Flutterbat glared at him, slamming into his body like in his dream, her fangs piercing his arm. Malibu cried out in pain, holding it as he fell to the ground.

Flutterbat wound up hating the taste of his blood, grabbing an apple on the ground near Spike, eating it in one bite then spitting out the core again.

Rainbow Dash rushed over to Malibu who was still holding his hoof over his bite wincing, ears flat on his head. Pinkie Pie was shaking. "She bit him! He's gonna turn into a vampire pony!"

He turned with a sharp glare. "No, I'm... I'm not Pinkie! Just calm down!" Rarity instantly pulled out a piece of cloth she carried with her for emergencies, wrapping it around his wound.

"If she keeps this up your whole crop will be gone in no time!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed, supporting Malibu on his three good legs.

Applejack just watched Fluttershy in sadness. "That's the least of my worries now. I just want my friend back." She said in sorrow.

Twilight looked determined. "We'll never get her back unless we corner and catch her so I can reverse the spell!"

The gang all were able to spot Flutterbat sitting there, her wing wrapped around her shoulder which reminded Malibu too much of how a gargoyle would do it.

"There she is!" Twilight hissed softly.

Flutterbat hissed when hearing her, taking off. Malibu stared after her. She was too fast for them.

"There she goes!" Applejack exclaimed.

Malibu glanced back at Twilight. "What are we gonna do?"

Twilight moaned. "I think the only way we're gonna catch her is if we find a way to lure her closer to us."

Applejack was confused. "Even if we can lure her to us, how're we gonna get her to stay still long enough for her to do your reverse spell?"

Pinkie Pie was saddened. "Aww, if only we had Fluttershy use her stare on the Flutterbat!"

Hearing those words had an idea in Malibu, and he now grinned. "That's it, Pinkie!" He said excitedly, gathering the others around to speak about his idea.

The 8 of them got the mirrors from Rarity which would have Fluttershy stare into her own reflection and the large apple would be bait. "Ok, let's get our friend back. Action stations!" Twilight commanded.

Applejack drew a knife, looking to Malibu who nodded encouragingly. "So much for having the winning apple in the Appleloosa State Fair, huh?" Dash asked.

It made the earth pony sigh, cutting the apple and letting the smell draw in Flutterbat. Flutterbat caught the scent, sniffing, turning and flying at them, hissing loudly.

"She's coming!" Rainbow whispered, Malibu holding up his mirror with her. Flutterbat's eyes widened when seeing her stare, shaking her head, only to run into another mirror. This time she was held by her own gaze. Malibu when looking carefully saw that even her cutie mark was changed from butterflies to bats which was weird.

Twilight shot her spell, waves of magic surrounding Flutterbat, changing her to her original form back into a pony.

She fell to the ground, Malibu running quickly over, nudging his friend gently. "Flutter?"

It had the Pegasus' eyes open, back to their normal light blue. "Oh... where am I?" She moaned. Everypony cheered from that, glad she was back to her old self.

Applejack hugged her tight after Malibu. "Thank goodness you're ok!"

Fluttershy looked confused. "But what happened to me?"

Pinkie grinned. "You turned into a vampire pony!"

She gasped. "I tried to eat ponies?!"

Pinkie rolled her eyes. "Of course not! Although... you did bite Malibu on the leg... oops!" She covered her mouth, Fluttershy looking over to her friend who had a bandage, a hoof over her mouth too.

"Don't worry about it Flutter, I've already forgiven you." Malibu said with a little grin which she returned, the gang all nuzzling each other before soon heading home.

....

The next days that followed was of them all building the vampire bat sanctuary, Malibu happy they were able to do it after he put up a sign with a drawing of a bat on it.

Applejack sighed. "Fluttershy, I'm real sorry I didn't take your suggestion in the first place."

Fluttershy shrugged. "And don't forget, now you'll get seeds that will grow into even bigger and better apple trees!"

Rainbow Dash's eyes glowed in excitement. "Does that mean what I think it means?"

Applejack grinned at her. "Yup! More cider too!"

The rainbow pegasus cheered and whooped, Malibu groaning, wanting to talk about her cider intake again. He stared down at the scar on his leg, hoping that for real from this bite he wouldn't turn into a vampire.

In the Golden Oaks Library the gang wrote down in the journal courtesy of Spike. "Ok, got the part about the spell, Fluttershy turning into a bat, building a sanctuary..."

Applejack did a one arm hug. "Be sure to put in there that I came to see that my short-term solution was a little bit short-sighted."

Fluttershy bowed. "And you shouldn't let anypony pressure you into doing something that you don't think is right. Sometimes you have to tell even your closest friends 'no'."

They all nodded in agreement. Applejack pulled out an apple. "Now, how about we celebrate our stronger than ever friendship with a nice ripe juicy apple!"

Malibu noted Fluttershy staring unblinkingly for a few seconds before Pinkie showed with fake fangs. "Stand back! I vant to suck it's juuuuice!" She said sounding like Dracula, sinking the fake fangs into the apple that came out. Pinkie grinned with a squee, causing them all to laugh, happy that everything was the way it should. Maybe.

What do you all think about Malibu being bitten by Flutterbat? Should it turn him into a vampire bat at some point?

I also take this lesson in this episode to heart.
