Nick's POV (Finally!)

We all turned around and saw a man. "Who are you?" Adam asked, but in a fierce tone. "Well, I happen to be the leader of this, well, place," The man said calmly. He looked over to Cory and said, "And what are you doing here? I thought you didn't know-" "I do know these people," Cory interrupted. We all looked at him. "Yes! Now he remembers!" I exclaimed happily, but I think that was a bad idea, cause then everyone looked at me. "Really Nick?!" Uni shouted, jumping at my legs. I jumped up and shouted, "Don't bite me again!" Susan growled at him, but I motioned for her to relax, she obeyed and paid her attention to the guy. "Guys, can we please focus?" Christina whispered to us. I put on my serious face and nodded. "So, like I was saying, I-" I stopped listening, for I saw a knife on a table. I slowly crept to it, while everyone was distracted. "Will you stop!" I heard someone shout. I froze and looked at where the voice came from, it was just Cory. I sighed and grabbed the knife. I hid it behind me and went back to my original spot. "I see you're more aggressive, ashame. Kill him," The guy said. I then noticed that there were guards. When did they get there?! The guards aimed the guns at us, Susan growling even louder, but before they could shoot, I ran up to the guy and pointed the knife at his neck. "Nice job Nick!" I heard Adam say. Cory walked up beside me, with Susan behind him. "Listen here, we are leaving. One of you stop us, he's dead." The guards hesitated, but then dropped their guns. We walked away, me still pointing the knife at the guy. While we were walking, I whispered, "What did he say? I was busy do I didn't hear." They gave off a small chuckled. "We'll tell you later," Uni said. I nodded and proceeded walking, Christina leading us in the front and my good girl Susan watching the back. We saw the exit. "You better not follow us," Adam threatened the guy. The guy had a dead expression, but still nodded. We walked out, but I had an odd feeling about him.

Once we were out, I sighed and looked out the the mountainous desert. "Finally, I was getting creeped out down their." Uni started running around, shouting, "Freedom! Yes!" Susan was actually doing the same, but howling. "Now that we're out," Adam said. He pointed the gun at Christina and finished, "Explain!" Christina looked at the ground. "I-I was told not to." "Yeah we know that!" Uni shouted. "He wanted to...test something." "What exactly?" Dawn asked. "A chemical," She answered. "Oh, a potion?" I asked. "No Nick, a dangerous one," Christina corrected. "It was meant to give powers to the user or somthing like that, I don't know, but had some after effects... memory loss," Christina said, gesturing to Cory. "They wanted to test it on someone. They thought about doing it to a guard, but then I-" "Wanted to use me," Cory interrupted. She nodded. "I just really wanted to see you again." Cory looked away from her, facing his back to us. "I thought they wouldn't hurt anyone, but I was wrong." "But, why?!" Adam shouted, pointing his gun at her face. I don't know what happened, but I grabbed Christina and put her behind me. "Everyone has reasons Adam! Why don't you let her talk?!" I shouted to him. Adam gave me a shocked face, actually, everyone did, even Dawn. "O, kay then," He said, putting the gun away. I sighed and walked away, embarrassed. I motioned for Susan to follow me, she went on all fours and ran to me. "Where ya' going?" Cory asked. "For a walk!" I shouted back, walking away.

Christina's POV

Did he just... defend me?! I watched as he walked a bit out with Susan, and sat down. "What was that?" Dawn asked. "I don't know, but I'll listen to what he said," Adam said, facing me. "Continue," He then said. "I only wanted to see him again," I replied. "Then why? Why not just escape and find me?!" Cory shouted, walking up next to Adam. "I-I would have b-but-" "But what?" Cory asked. I stayed silent. "What?!" He repeated, shouting this time. "I-I..." "What?!" He shouted again, grabbing my arms, but I faced down. "Come on, it's not hard to answer it," Dawn said, trying to make me feel better. I heard barking, from Uni probably, trying to 'say' something. "Just answer the question," Cory said, not shouting. "I can't," I finally said. "Why not Christina?" Dawn asked, coming up to my right. "I-I just can't," I replied. "Why?" Cory asked, shaking me a bit this time. "....." I stayed silent again, I can't tell him. "Why?!" He shouted, shaking me a bit more. "I-I was scared!" I shouted, still facing the ground. I felt him let go of me. "I was scared they would hurt me! I was scared they would hurt your friends! I was scared they would hurt you! I would've escaped! Only if I wasn't a coward! I should have never thought of that stupid stupid idea!" I quickly shouted, crying a bit. I collapsed to me knees, and sobbed into my hands. "I'm so, so, so sorry," I said between sobs. "Look, we didn't-" "Let her have some alone time," Cory interrupted Adam. I heard them walk away, but not very far.

After a few minutes, I heard someone walk up to my left, and big heavy footsteps. "What *sob* do you want?" I asked, not looking up. I felt a pair of arms go around me. "It's okay, they're like that." Nick?! I looked to the person's face, and it was Nick, plus Susan behind him, eating some stew. He looked at me and smiled. "Just try not to think about it. We all make mistakes, even me." I nodded. He wiped a tear that was on my cheek and stood up. I blushed a little when he did that. "Let's go before they get too far," He said, sticking out his hand. I grabbed it and pulled myself up. We started walking, till we catched up to the others. "Hey sis, I just wanted to say, sorry," Cory said, walking up to me. I hugged him. "It's fine, we all make mistakes." He hugged me back and asked, "Where you learn that?" "From someone close, very close."
