The three of us decided to go out on the deck near the railing. It was a stunning night: the breeze blew easily, and there were barely any clouds in the sky, much like when we left the harbor. I relaxed and sighed in content. "So what are you two doing at a tournament like this?" I decided to ask.

"It's complicating for me," Yugi admitted, rubbing the back of his head. He quickly explained that he needed to save his grandpa from Pegasus. It's a good reason to go to a tournament.

"I'm here to help my sister!" Joey grinned. He elaborated how she was going blind and that he needed the prize money to pay for surgery to make her eyes well. I was shocked. He came to help his sister too...

~flashback~

An email popped up on my computer, and I decided to check it out. It was from the organization where Lizzy does her missions. I quickly opened it and read the email carefully. It said that Lizzy mysteriously disappeared..... I stopped reading and was terrified. How could she be gone? That's never happened before! I stopped everything I was doing and looked at the package I just got. I opened it and there was a tape in it with some cards, a glove, and two tiny star chips. I put the tape into the tv and watched. The creator of Duel Monsters, Pegasus, invited me to go to a tournament on his island. I didn't want to go until he mentioned my sister Lizzy. He said that she was quite a bright girl but pretty reckless. He told me that she was on his island! I gasped and considered the fact that she's trapped. Pegasus laughed and then the tape stopped. I clutched my fist and told myself that I would save her, no matter what!

~end flashback~

"Uh, Jarod?" I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at Joey and Yugi. They were pretty confused as to why I dazed out.

"Sorry, I was thinking," I chuckled. "Did you ask something?"

"Yeah," Joey replied. "Why did you come to the tournament?"

"I came for my younger sister," I smiled.

"Is she going into surgery too?!!"

"Oh no, she's not! I have to find her."

"Find her?" Yugi repeated. "What do you-" He was immediately cut off by Weevil, who was standing near them. Weevil asked Yugi if he could see his rarest cards. I was completely hesitant for Yugi to do that but he decided to do it anyway. I glanced at the cards, and they were the Forbidden One: Exodia. Seeing Weevil's questionable grin, I exclaimed,

"Get them back, Yugi!" But it was too late. Weevil threw the cards in the ocean before my friend had the chance. Yugi was shocked, and Joey jumped into the ocean to get the cards. "Joey, you can't get them all of this rate!" Yugi decided to jump in too to save his friend. I gritted my teeth and climbed onto the railing, ready to dive in. Suddenly, I saw a boy and girl with a ladder in the corner of my eye. They threw the ladder to Joey and Yugi. I sighed in relief as I jumped back to the deck and helped the two with the ladder. Yugi and Joey got back on the boat safely and the latter was disappointed that he only obtained three of the cards. He told the others that he couldn't do anything right, especially when it came to his sister Shizuka. "Don't tell yourself that!" I exclaimed in protest.

"But I-" Joey started with a frown. I cut him off by clutching his shoulders.

"Listen, it's not the end!" I said, determined. "It'll be okay. You can still help your sister!"

"He's right!" Yugi grinned. "Don't give up!"

"Thanks guys," Joey smiled. He introduced me to Tristan and Téa, who I thought were nice people too. Despite the incident, we were all determined to get to the island and start the tournament.

Yup, that was a pretty long chapter. I hope you guys don't mind it being this long. This will probably be the format for all the chapters after this one bit I don't know. We'll see! Anyway, vote and comment! I'd really like some feedback please! See ya next chapter!
