The next morning, I sent Timber off to look for breakfast. I got up to search for some wild berries and with my tree limb spear, I went down to the river to meet Timber there, and shot down a few fish.

Timber ran passed me, splashing water in my face." Hey!" I laughed, splashing him back. With a playful growl, Timber jumped on me, knocking me over into the water, soaking us both." You silly goose!" I grinned at him. Before he could jump on me again, I dived underwater, and resurfaced behind him, pushing him over.
Timber barked, turning to me, and about to splash me back when he suddenly stopped, his ears pricked forward and his tail outward in alertness." Timber?" I blinked at him. He responded by running into the trees.
" Where you going?" I was about to shout after him, but then I heard voices;" Hear that?" " Was that a wolf?" I got out of the water and ran to the nearest tree, climbing it. Down below, underneath the trailing limbs, I saw three men, with a girl with blonde hair, about my age trailing after them.
" Where we going?" She whined.
" We've been out here since yesterday afternoon and we haven't saw such as a broken claw of a wolf!"
" Be patient, Veronica!" One man snapped." If you want to be a wolf hunter like me, you have to be patient, or the wolf won't come to you."
