I, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the III, has been chosen to kill my first dragon in front of the whole village. Everyone is going to be so proud after worst Viking on Berk.

But there's only one problem: I don't like the idea of killing dragons. My best-friend is a Night Fury that is against the tribe. I convinced Astrid that dragons aren't dangerous after the romantic flight.

Ever since then she helped me with Toothless. Feeding him to taking him flying, of course. I showed her how to fly Toothless. Thank goodness he was cooperating with her.

We kept Toothless a secret from the whole village. Not even my own father knows mine and Astrid's secret.

Every time there is a dragon raid, we help them from not getting killed from the Vikings, and I still haven't told my father about the Red Death, the queen of dragons.

I haven't showed anyone else Toothless. If I did, they would kill Toothless. I can't let that happen. That's why Astrid has helped me hide him for so long.

She found a cave where we can hide Toothless. She found it one of the times she took Toothless for a flight. We took Toothless to the cave, and it's not that far from the cove. That way Toothless won't be easily spotted. Instead he will be in a cave.

(Flashback)

The day of Hiccup's exam, everybody in the village is at the arena where Hiccup's exam takes place. It's five minutes before the match with the Monstrous Nightmare. Astrid confronted Hiccup by the gate.

"Hiccup, what are you going to do?" she asked Hiccup, concerned.

Hiccup looked at Astrid with fear of what might happen. "I don't know, Astrid. I can't kill it. If I did, I don't know what I would do to myself."

"Well Hiccup, you could do what you did in training," Astrid suggested.

Hiccup looked through the gate in the arena where the match will take place.

"I don't know, Astrid. If my dad sees what I did, he wouldn't be pleased," he said, staring at me.

'You aren't just going to give up, and kill it I know,' Astrid thought.

"Maybe you should do it anyway, even if your dad scowls at you, thinking bad of what you did. Know that you have done it for Toothless,," Astrid said.

"But Astrid, I can't risk it." I looked at him.

"Hiccup, there's nothing to be afraid of. Now, do what I told you." Astrid smiled at him.

"Okay. But can you promise me if anything goes wrong, make sure they won't find Toothless," he said in a dead serious tone.

'He can't be serious. He's not giving up. Is he?' Astrid thought.

"Promise me nothing will go wrong, Hiccup."

"No guarantees," Hiccup replied.

"Don't get yourself killed," Astrid said, which earned a shocked expression from Hiccup.

"Time to go Hiccup," Gobber called out to Hiccup.

"I have to go now."

Astrid looked at him scared.

Gobber opened the gate for Hiccup. Hiccup walked over to the weapon stand. He picked up a mace, then faced the direction where the dragon will be.

"I would've gone for the hammer," Stoick said while a couple Vikings are opening the gate.

The dragon came out of the cage bursting in flames. Circled the arena a couple times then the dragon ignited, glaring at me. Everyone was watching the whole thing.

I was getting agitated. My hands were starting to get clammy. The whole village was waiting for me to kill the dragon, but that is not what I'm going to do.

Me and the dragon stared at each other for a moment, then I grabbed a better grip of the mace. I was about to hit the dragon, but I scratched under his chin, then he fell to the ground unconscious. But right before he fell I pretended to hit him really hard.

"Wow he took that dragon with one strike. No Viking has ever defeated a dragon that quick or fast. Not even Stoick The Vast," Gobber said loud enough for Stoick to hear.

"Gobber," Stoick scowled at Gobber.

Now the worst is over. How does Hiccup get this dragon out of here without anybody notice?

The crowd started cheering for Hiccup's victory over defeating the Monstrous Nightmare.

The main gate opened, and Astrid came running to Hiccup.

"So, now it's unconscious. How do we get it out of the arena?" Astrid asked.

" I know. You trick the gang in helping us," Hiccup said, smirking at her.

"How are you gonna do that?" She asked.

'Hmm...good question. I don't know,' Hiccup thought.

"Are you listening to me?" Astrid said.

"Okay, Astrid. Here's the truth: I don't have a good plan to trick them in helping us?" I told her.

'I hope she might have an idea of how to get the gang to help us move the dragon out the arena,' I thought.

"Maybe while you celebrate your victory with the village, me and the gang move it to the forest," she suggested to me.

"That just might work."

Hiccup then walked out of the arena to my father. He told me he is proud. Then Hiccup and the whole village went to the Great Hall. There was long lines to get inside.

Meanwhile, Astrid asked the gang to help her carry the dead dragon to the forest. Or so they thought...............

But now, they are helping them free a dragon, and they don't even realize until it's too late.

"Ruffnut, Tuffnut, Snotlout, Fishlegs do you mind helping me to take this dragon away?" I asked the gang.

"Why would we help you instead of going to the celebration?" Snotlout said annoyed.

'Really, not this again,' Astrid thought.

"Because Gobber told me to do it myself, but I can't. I'll need help," Astrid explained.

Astrid kept staring at the group hoping they will help me sneak the Monstrous Nightmare to the forest. Hopefully the dragon won't wake up while transporting him. If he does, they will know Hiccup didn't kill it, and they will report Astrid and Hiccup for sneaking the dragon out of the arena, and Hiccup for faking in killing the Monstrous Nightmare. And Stoick will probably banish them from the island.

They all finally agreed to help me.

"Okay, fine. We'll help you," Snotlout agreed. 

"Okay, good. Follow me," Astrid instructed.

The gang followed Astrid to the arena. Before they got there, Astrid bumped into Spitelout.

"Oh no" I mumbled.
