Week 87

Prompt:

"This can't get any worse. Can it?"

"Sure it can—just give me a minute."

<><><><>

"Well, yes; things can get worse and worse and worse, but you don't want to get drowned by all of it," I said. I thought Jack thought similarly, but exactly a minute later he proved me wrong. He wasn't the best, but at least he was there; that one argument ruined everything.

"AT LEAST TELL ME WHERE YOU GOT THIS CHOCOLATE!" Jack yelled in my face.

"Uh-oh, it is my secret, so I cannot tell you."

"Tell me, because I want one!"

"I got it from a man that said he got it from my mom, and when I asked my mom, she said I got it from me."

"That's...interesting?"

"Well, the thing is I didn't remember giving myself the chocolate bar—which is full of worms."

The worms came out of the wrapper, which was slightly open. However, they died immediately due to radiation poisoning in the air. The bacteria from the worm's decaying bodies became bigger and bigger.

Jack, horrified, wondered where the radiation had come from.

"I— where did I get this chocolate from...?" I asked, eyes wide.

Little did they know, the chocolate was slowly poisoning all of Earth. One by one, everyone was dying.

"What's happening here?" the omnipotent yellow book on the third row of the bookshelf asked.

"I think we are in another dimension."

A raven flew into the story, croaking 'Nevermore' over and over again.

"Shut the hell up!"

"Nevermore!"

"This happened because of the chocolate you got from the creature in the other universe, Other Me!" Jack shook his fist at me.

Suddenly out of nowhere, a volcano erupted. This caused the multiverses to implode into a super singularity.

And when they thought it couldn't get any worse, a certain someone showed up. "Oh boy, don't tell me you're creating a disaster that can ruin our lives," she said. "Haven't we already suffered enough last time from the plague?!"

"Duh, this is not the plague anymore because what we are facing right now can make our lives even worse!" I shook my head. Who is even talking to me right now?

And then a massive asteroid came and destroyed everything. Everything except a single tube of toothpaste, which miraculously made it out without a scratch on it.

"I wanna go home right now," the toothpaste said as it floated through the vast amount of nothingness around it. But there was no home to return to, so it resigned itself to float in space forever.

The end.
