Two days passed, still no news of Neil. Avni was really upset by now. Her silent nature had become more silent, worrying her parents. Avni would go to office in morning and return in late evening, and then stay in her room all day.
"Okay, email them to me soon." Avni replied on phone, walking in from the front door. Just then the bell rang and she opened the door. Neil was standing at the door. Avni wanted to hug him tightly and apologize again, she felt her eyes well up but didn't had the guts to do anything because of the unfriendly expression on Neil's face. "Neil! Come on in!" Joseph was quiet excited to see him. Avni moved to a side and allowed him in. Her heart was crying out loud, but it wasn't audible to Neil. She hurried upstairs and changed, before coming back to kitchen to grab something to eat. Avni sat at the kitchen counter, while the others were in the living room adjacent, enjoying a game of cards. Avni slowly finished her food and was about to head upstairs. "Avi dear, can you stay here for a while? The cleaners are here, so I'll finish upstairs first along with your room." Mona requested. Avni nodded in agreement. She then looked at Neil, their eyes met but Neil looked away. Avni's face dropped, she was trying her best to hold her tears back, and walked in to the balcony, beside the couch where Neil was sitting.
Ayesha came in after a while. "How did the hearings go? You were supposed to have two today, right?" Ayesha asked. Avni let out a sigh and replied. "I lost both." She whispered but it was audible enough for Neil. Her voice was filled with frustration and hurt. "Ohh, and..Is your Barcelona trip confirmed?" Neil was startled at this sentence. He saw Avni nodding her head. "Leaving in two weeks.." Avni then hugged Ayesha from behind. "I cant stay there without you for two months..." She was crying now. Neil felt as if someone just squished his heart out. Cuz he know she isn't hurt because she had to leave, but because of him. "Avi..." Ayesha was really surprised. She turned around, holding Avni close. "What happened, baby? How are you so weak all of a sudden? Hmm? This isn't the first time you are traveling." Avni dropped Ayesha's hand from her face. "I'm not strong! I'm not always strong!" Everyone at the living-room now had their attention to the mother and daughter now. "Why do you all keep on saying that?! I am not strong. There are things in life that weakens me! I dont always have the strength to deal with things. Things that happens without my intention. I am not strong..." her voice trailed off, as she bursted into tears. Avni ran out of the balcony, to her room. Joseph gestured Neil to follow her, but Neil hesitated.
Avni thumped on to the couch, she was sobbing and hid her face in her hands. She miss being with Neil. She's hurt because despite knowing me how compelled she was, he is ignoring her. She felt a hand on her shoulder and looked up. Neil was standing right there, his eyes welled up. Avni got up from the seat to walk away. Neil grabbed her hand and hugged her from behind. "I'm sorry... please." He whispered. Avni again tried to move but Neil's grip on her was so tight. "No.. I'm guilty. I regret what I did.. but.. I was hurt too. I felt as if you didn't trust me.. you didn't want to.." "why wouldn't I trust you? Why? It hasn't been long since we met, but I blindly trusted in you. Why would I want to be yours forever if I didn't trust you.." "I know.. I'm sorry.. so sorry.." he kept on saying. Avni turned around and hugged him. Neil tightened his embrace on her, and kissed on her hair.
Ayesha didn't call them out for dinner, she wanted to give them time to sort out everything.

Neil and Avni were lying on the hammock at the little balcony in Avni's room. The city lights were visible from afar, the wind was swaying along their skin. Neil hugged Avni more tightly. "Woah, you wanna choke me?" Avni teased, looking at Neil's face. "I don't want anything between us.. anyone. I just want to hold her so close to me.." the lust in his eyes, raced her heart. Neil lowered her face to her, Avni could feel his hot breath on her face. She closed her eyes, inviting Neil who didn't waste a second and captured her lips. Avni kissed him back, passionately. They moved apart, craving for oxygen. Neil rested his face against Avni's. "It's late.. I have to go home." Neil whispered. Avni pursed her lips and shook her head. Neil laughed at this and hugged her again. "Just a few days. I'll be here with you, forever." Avni hugged him back, not wanting to let go. DD's phone call made Neil to make up his mind to leave.

The following morning, Neil walked into Avni's law firm. She will be leaving to Spain for two months soon. They have some mutual works to finish and he have to spend maximum time with her. Because two months would be ever so tough for him. "Avni?" He asked the receptionist. "She's on a call right now, please take a seat. It won't take long." Neil nodded and took a seat. His eyes then caught on the new photo put up on the wall. Avni looked so beautiful, so flawless. He smiled to himself, as he was so proud to call her his.

"You may go in, sir." Neil gave a smile and walked to Avni's cabin. She was busy, digging through some files. "What's going on?" Neil asked. "Hey.. my friend Noya is in town. She have invited us over for dinner. I'm just searching for this childhood photograph of us." Avni grinned. "Ooh. Meeting her after long?" "Yes! Its been five years!" Neil laughed at how excited Avni was. "Okay.. and the witness list of the Arson case, we have to work on. The hearing is on Monday." Neil reminded her and they soon got busy on it.

They were in front of a hotel room early in the evening. Avni rang the bell and the door opened, a man appearing from inside. "Avi!" He Exclaimed. "Hi Austin!" Avni smiled, giving him a quick hug. "So good to see you! You too Neil." Neil was a bit surprised as Austin took his name. "Come on in!" Avni entered first and Neil walked behind her. Neil was startled, when someone suddenly ran in and grabbed on Avni! Avni laughed out loud and the both of them fell onto the couch.

Neil laughed as he saw both the ladies on each other. He could see how excited they were to finally meet up. "You are so cuddlish now!" Avni sad, hugging Noya. "Haha! I have a tummy which haven't completely inflated quiet yet! It's so good to see you, Avi!" "Saame here! Never thought I'd see you here in India." "Eherm? What are we supposed to do?" Austin asked, moving close to Neil and gesturing at him. "You have to give company to Neil, cuz I have a lot to catch up with Avi!" "Not fair!" He threw a cushion at Noya, which missed and hit Avni. "Whoops! Peace, bro." He said to Neil, cracking up everyone in the room. Neil and Avni had really great evening at the Travis's. Avni held baby Nick in her arms for all those while. "I have an invitation for you Avi." Noya Said while at the dining table. Avni stopped her attention to her when Noya handed over a card. She opened it carefully and gasped! "Judy is getting married?!" Noya nodded and Avni clapped a hand on her mouth, in awe. "And before that, she wants all of us to take part in her last trip. To Barcelona." Noya explained more. "When? I am heading to Barcelona for two months, for an EU work." "That's fantastic then! The trip starts next week. They will be on it for about two weeks. Think you can be free enough?" Avni nodded. "Yeah.. my work starts on 15th. I have a week free." "Neil? Can join?" Noya asked. Neil shrugged. "I'll have to see. A sudden plan is very unlikely to work at this point." Avni looked at him and gave a pleading glance. "Tsk faain! I'll take a leave for two weeks." Noya and Austin laughed at their conversation, thinking on how precious it was. The rest of the night went by, with them discussing about different things, with wines and cakes. Neil had a really great time, and now he's excited for their trip!
