"Daddy, what are you doing?" Chole asks.

      "Oh, sorry Chole, I was writing notes down in my field journal,"  Her father says.

       "Was there something you need?" Her father asks.

        "I just wonder what we have for lunch, you know I do not eat meat right?" Chloe remarks.

      "Yes, I remember you are a  vegetarian if that is what you mean,"  Her father responds.

      "There should be some pimento cheese sandwiches and carrot sticks for you in the cooler," Her father says.

        "Alright sounds good to me," Chole answers. She takes  bite out of one of the sandwiches and sees a pickle, "Yuck, I hate pickles!" She whines.

        Chloe finishes the sandwich, eats a few carrots and some grapes. She smiles and thinks, you have to admit my daddy is the best.

       Meanwhile, Kim's brother shows up at the lake, "Hi Kim, are you going to introduce me to your girlfriend?"  Ivan asks.

    "Hey brother, she is my girlfriend. Ivan, this is my friend, Alix here."  Kim says.

     "Brother, I did not know you had a brother,"  Alix remarks.

    "Well, he rarely speaks about me because I am his half brother on his father's side,"  Ivan explains.

    "It was nice to meet you Ivan, but Kim is right. Goodness, we only met yesterday,"  Alix says.

    "She is right we only met the other day,"  Kim replies. He thinks, why does everyone assume she is my girlfriend.

       "Ok, sorry, nice to meet you, Alix,"  Ivan says. He thinks they like each other, I can tell.

      "Hey, want to see the fish I caught?" Alix asks.

    "No thanks, I do not eat fish which is why I never catch them," Ivan remarks.

    "I came here to see the nature," He says.  He takes a photo of the lake, the trees around it, some deer, and a dragonfly that is on a wildflower. 

     "Well, see you later bro,"  Ivan says and leaves with his camera.

    "Ok, later, bye!" Kim says.

One week later, Kim and Alix feel rather close by now for people who met at a campground. 

     "What is your name in case I want to text or call you sometime?" Kim asks

     "Here you go," She says and hands him a slip of paper with her name and phone number on it.

     "Thanks, Alix!  He winks at her.

   "Can you believe we only have two months left of the vacation?"  Alix asks.

    "No, but I am sure we can make the most of it,"  Kim says.

     "Yes, I suppose you are right,"  Alix remarks.

          "Alix lets go on a walk!"  Kim suggests.

    "Sure, let me just grab my shoes," Alix says. She puts her socks and tennis shoes back on and ties the laces.

       Alix pokes Kim playfully in the arm while on the walk, and Kim does the same to her.  A stranger who happens by would think they are a couple out on a stroll.  Those two get along so well, and they do like each other.
