RISING UP - From a Pauper to Singer
_________________________________________

"Yes of course. But I have tight schedule tonight with two shows, so I won't be able to stay for the after show - Sure, definitely" Aleissia said as she cut the call and put down her phone. She sank into the nearby bean bag heaving a sigh.

After her first performance in the auditorium, she had blown the music directors away and had a very successful but busy career so far in her four years. She had got married and had moved to England soon after. She was slightly nervous about performing today as at the town where she'd be performing, her family lived there. They hadn't heard a word about her, as before word spread, she had moved to England.

*Timelapse to the concert - Backstage*

Aleissia was talking to Mr. Carter when her husband put a hand on her shoulder, "Aleissia, you might wanna see this. I know you're not ready but..."

She heard a familiar screech and voices, before the trio appeared. All the air was knocked out of her, her body had gone rigid and she froze. Her family, her former family, they were here.

Their faces held nothing but loath and anger. Her step-sister marched up to her and she said, "You! You stole my spot. You lying b*tch, you sabotaged my dreams. Give me back what is mine".

"I warned you never to dare sing again! Never to shadow my dear daughter's dreams. You are no daughter of mine, just a street girl" her father hissed. Aleissia felt a stab of pain when he'd called her step-sister as his "dear daughter". She knew she should've not cared about it but she couldn't help it.

"You got this, Ally." her husband said supportively.

Aleissia was once again haunted by her family's insults. Fear took over her for just a fleeting moment before she regained confidence. She was done shedding tears for them, she was done even sparing time to think of them. She spoke with determination, "I am my own self, I can do anything I like. You have no right to throw false allegations at me. You have no right to tell me what to do. You are in no position to even advice me. Get out of my life, once and for all".

"Who are you to command us, street girl?" Her step mother sneered.

"Joe, please inform this wretched family, who are not related to me in any way, of who I am exactly, they seem to be at loss" Aleissia instructed her bodyguard.

"Yes mam" he spoke. The Bonhams' eyes widened at that, "Ma'am?" they whispered to each other.

Just then the presenter's voice in the speakers rung, "We have with us today, a renounwed singer, who has composed over 20 songs in just her few years of career, and is here to sing for us something special. Presenting.... ALEISSIA DEVON!!!"

Aleissia sweetly smiled at her husband and walked off to the stage. The trio managed to catch a glimpse of the thousands of people gathered there, cheering. All of them cheering for no other but Aleissia.

The trio were stunned, "A renounwed singer?"

"Devon? She adapted a new surname?" they whispered in shock.

"Yes, I am her husband, Adam Devon. And I suggest you three get the hell out of here before I call the security" he said.

They didn't needed to be told twice, they nodded and quickly scurried off. Adam turned to peak from behind the curtains. He showed a thumbs up and a flashed a smile her way when she caught his gaze. She smiled back and with a deep breath started singing, soon lost in singing and all negative thoughts washed away.
