The assassins cowered in the shadows as the two figures crossed the threshold. They knew that their base was vertically indestructible and therefore, they had nothing to fear but they just knew there was something about the two that made them stand out from most. There seemed to be a hunger for hatred around them.

When they reached the great doors, the soldier that had led them there, pushed them open before scurrying away. The two came forward into the room.

The young man in the room had to fight to keep his nerves intact as the two approached him. He had only been in charge a few months and he still hadn't got used to his place, let alone how to deal with these types of problems.

"I am Vaati, Wind Mage!" The one in front announced before turning to the woman behind him, "and this is Cia, dark sorceress..."

Master Kayga gulped and stood up from his chair. He tried to make himself look bug and strong but he was still merely a boy. Things had been hectic ever since his father had died and he was left in charge of an army he never wanted.

"What can I do for you?" He squeaked.

He internally slapped himself. He was supposed to be the essteamed leader of the mighty Yiga Clan, someone who should be a force to be reckoned with. And yet he was skittish and sounded like a humble shop keeper!

"Glad you asked..." Vaati chuckled, walking round the desk and sat in Kayga's seat as though he owned it.

The boy just moved away. It wasn't as if he wanted to be in that chair anyways, that was always his father's thing.

"Look, I'll get to the point," Vaati rolled his eyes at how submissive Kayga seemed.

He had hoped at least a little resistance from the boy. Vaati had even planned a small speech had had wished to pitch to him but that wasn't needed. It would be all too easy...

"I want your army." He corssed his arms and hauled his legs up onto the desk in front of him.

Kayga didn't know what to say... What could he say? He wasn't that much of a fighter so what could he do?

"W-why?" He stammered, backing away, his eyes alternating between Vaati and Cia.

"Let's face it, the Calamity is gone!" Vaati smiled wickedly, " Your God has gone!"

Kayga gulped. It was true. His ancestor who had started their ancient clan, Zant, had worshipped Ganondalf. Ever since his downfall, Kayga's family had been dedicated to resurrecting their god. It seemed as though they had succeeded untill the princess and her knight disposed of him. Their 'god' was dead again.

"W-what do you want with us?" He again tried to sound imposing but fell short and ended up sounding like a whining puppy.

"Oh, don't be afraid my boy," Vaati chuckled lightly, "Give me control of the Yiga and I can help you take revenge on the damned Hylian fools!" He ended with another smile.

Kayga didn't like revenge. He didn't understand why someone would want to kill another just because they had done something wrong to them. He knew that was one of the reasons he wasn't very popular as the Yiga's leader. If he handed control to someone who would take action, maybe he actually had a chance of making his mark? If Kayga could show them that he had the initiative to do these kinds of things, they would respect him as a leader.

"I-I will give you command of my army. B-but you have to promise me something..." His eyes flickered between Cia and Vaati, making sure that neither were getting closer.

"You want me to tell your army that it was you who thought of the entire thing," Vaati smiled, knowing things was his speciality.

"Y-yes..." Kayga nodded sheepishly.

Vaati laughed his vicious laugh, "Why of course my boy!" He roared heartily.

***

Kayga slumped into his chair with a thud. Pulling off his Yiga mask he threw it aside with force. Why couldn't he just be who the people wanted him to be? His entire family before him had proven themselves worthy of the Yiga Clan's leadership!

Kayga just wasn't like that! He wasn't a warrior! He wasn't a fighter! And he certainly didn't want to command an army of mindless assassins!

He had no choice but to let Vaati and Cia in control of his army. He couldn't deny them even if he wanted to. He couldn't deny the fact that he would be praised as their leader if he let his assassins take revenge on the princess and her knight.

And for what? Yes, Link killed his father but that wasn't why Kayga had been angry at him. Kayga was angry at Link for leaving him in this predicament. Kayga didn't want to be forced to take over his father's army! In fact, Kayga hated his father so much that he was even happy he was gone!

What was he going to do? He didn't want anyone to die because he couldn't stick up for himself. He just wanted piece!

Before he knew it, tears were streaming down his cheeks as he pulled his knees up to his chest. He held them tight and hid his head in them as he cried quietly to himself. Before he knew it he was falling asleep.
