Zelda and Link were in silence yet again as they entered the castle. They had bearly talked for the whole of the two days it had taken them to reach the castle again.

Zelda wanted to apologize to Link... She had treated him like a dog. She had disrespected him and so on, but he had never once shown that same disrespect back to her. Even when he had commented on it, Link did so in a respective manor. He never seems unless spoken too, and if not, he has a very good excuse to do so. He always calls her Princess, which is the proper form of address. He watches over her when she sleeps in their campsite, and is always awake when she wakes up. He must be incredibly tired, Zelda thought as she rounded a corner and pushed herself into her bedroom.

Link had been thinking of Zelda on his way to his bedroom. She was perfect in every way, not just by body, but by mind. She had grown up without a mother, in a world in which she could have used one. She had the entire kingdom resting on her shoulders and yet here she was, her back straight, her head up high, and her posture in general was just one of strength. Yet Link knew that Zelda didn't feel stronge at all... Link wanted to change that...

She was running, her dress was ripped and billowing behind her. She couldn't stop to pick it up and continue, she had to keep going!

The low tree branches nicked at her face and scrapped at what was left of her dress. She couldn't stop. She had to get to him.

She was finally out of the thick undergrowth, but she still couldn't see him! She tried to call out his name but the sound was muffled by the sound of lighting. She screamed again, at the top of her lungs but her throat was so hoarse that only a small squeak escaped her lips.

Where is he, where is he? Then she heard that familiar clang of metal. Her head whipped round, letting her hair fly into her eyes. All she could see was a small blue blur in the distance, and a similar blur, but that one in black.

"Link!" Zelda screamed.

Her whole body was cold with sweat. Her hair was stuck in cold clumps over her back.

Link burst into her room, Mastersword in hand. His shirt was off and all he had on was his blue pants.

Link dropped the Mastersword as soon as he saw the state Zelda was in.

Her breathing was laboured and her hair was matted. Her duvet was on the floor, as well as her bedsheets. Her pillows were everywhere.

Zelda looked up to Link, a face of pure terror painted on her face. After a while, Zelda controled her breathing and she smoothed out her nightdress so that it covered her exposed legs and pulled her straps up as well.

When she looked back at Link though,  she burst out in tears.

As if on instinct, Link ran towards her and sat next to her on the bed. Zelda, as well on instinct, threw herself into Link's arms and sobbed onto his bear chest.

After all the tears had fallen, Zelda ,reluctantly, pulled away from Link and stood up. She found her way to her window and she pushed it open, letting the room fill with the warm midnight wind.

Zelda sat down on her desk, next to the window and looked back at Link, who had picked up the Mastersword and had hurriedly made his way to her door.

He could have slapped himself back there, had had taken advantage of the Princess. He had taken a time of vulnerability to hold her while she cried. What was he thinking?

Link went back to sleep thinking of Zelda and the fact that he wasn't the only one who had those nightmares...

After breakfast that morning, Link accompanied Zelda to the Library. He wanted to apologize to her for his foolish actions that night.

When they had found a small quite spot to sit, it was Zelda who spoke first.

"Link, I am sorry I woke you. And I'm sorry you had to see the Princess of Hyrule in such a compromising situation..." Her voice trailed off had Zelda let her head droop down in shame.

"No, no, Princess, I must apologize for taking advantage of you last night. It's just, I didn't know what I was doing..."

Zelda chuckled. "You really think I would throw you in the dungeons because you saw a person in pain and wanted to help."

When she put it like that, Link let out a small chuckle.

"Might I ask, what was your nightmare about, if you don't mind me asking, Princess?" Link said timidly.

"I thought I saw you..." She looked into his eyes and he looked back into hers.

"I thought I saw you..." She tried again  but failed to lunch the word.

"I saw you..." She still couldn't say it.

"It's fine Princess, if you can't say it, then I think I know what you mean. But it's ok, I'm here, I'm safe."

"Call me Zelda..." She whispered.

"Princess?"

"I said, call me Zelda..."
