Roll the Trailers
-/-\-
My favorite place in the world
Is a movie theater
The thick taste of buttered popcorn
Slightly salted, slightly warm
The pitch-black inside the theater
Chairs rugged and worn
But as great as popcorn and lights off can be,
It's nothing compared to what goes on
Upon a movie screen
I've never been a big fan of reality
The real world and all its "wonders" have never suited me
But movies' kidnap their viewers
Stow them away in a mystical land
Complete with its own fascinating story
Daring and grand
Sometimes even after the movie
I'm always missing a part of me
Lost in their own world
A world of happy endings
A world wrapped up in a moral
But I got caught up
In my world of fantasy
Shut the real world out
And stepped into the movie screen
But the longer I spend in the world of unreal
The number I get, the less I feel
And now I'm at a point where I really don't know
Which is reality or fantasy
And which I call home
But every movie ends
At one time or another
The popcorn runs out
The lights flicker on
And everyone gets up
And life goes on
I'll always miss the movies
But for now, I'm stuck with reality
Perhaps it isn't so bad
After all,
My life might as well be
A Movie Screen
