[ Jake's POV ~ After School ]

I don't know when Drew is going to come over to 'talk' to me, but that's the least of my worries. I took notice of how Hailey was avoiding me, she seemed scared to come near me, Luke had told me the answers to my worries: Zander. Zander had apparently locked Hailey in her bedroom, and continued to everyday after school, deleted my contact and banned me from the music clubs group chat.

And it was all because Zander wanted to "protect" Hailey. He's overprotective, and I understand that, but when I think of "protective" me and my sister both agree that a word that fits under that umbrella is "happy"

And Hailey is clearly the opposite of happy. Heck, Shannon and Micheal are both on vacation which was supposed to leave Hailey in charge so they don't even know about this, I don't even know how Bethany is. But I'm honestly worried about her.

And I miss Hailey, a lot. I miss her stormy grey eyes looking into mine, her soft turquoise hair, her delicate tan skin, her pink cardigan that she always wore. I miss her, but Zander doesn't want me to see her.

I hear the doorbell ring, with hope that it's not Drew, I walk to the oak door and open it. To be greeted by the magenta-haired boy I had hoped wasn't at the door

Drew welcomes himself in, looking around the house before his gaze lands back on me

"I think you know why I'm here?" Drew snarls, squinting his oak brown eyes at me

"Yes... Drew I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier that me and Hailey were dating.." I start saying with guilt in my voice

"You should be, why are you even dating that freak? She's pathetic!" Drew hisses, crossing his arms. I ball my fist up

"She's not pathetic!" I snap

"Geez, just break up with her already. She obviously is just using you for popularity!" Drew spits out,

"Not like Zoey is using you for popularity too..." I mutter under my breath, Drew's head snaps up

"Excuse you?" 

"You heard me." I tell him

"Oh you little-" Drew starts, raising his hand to slap me across my face, but right before his hand makes contact with my face someone catches his arm

Her green and brown eyes are full of anger...

Julie

"Don't touch my brother you piece of shit!" Julie scowls, letting go of Drew's hand as she balls her fist. "Get out!"

Drew growls lowly, opening the oak brown door and slamming it behind him. Julie locks the door and whips her head to me

"You okay?" She asks me

"Yeah. I'm fine." I mumble

"Jake, you look fine physically but your making it obvious that mentally you aren't." Jules says, grabbing my hand

"Wanna talk about it?" Jules asks me as I look up at her

"Yes please..." I say sadly

Julie smiles warmly at me as I start telling her everything that's been happening

[ Hailey's POV ~ After School ]

This isn't the first time I regretted having a bedroom door that locked from the outside, at first my parents only used it when I got in trouble. But when I got older they stopped using it

But they didn't get rid of it, I wish they did though.

I lay in my bed, I can't really do anything and I can't even leave the room because Zander locked it. Thankfully, he gave my phone back though so I can text Luke about anything that's going on, and hopefully Luke or I can get Zander to let Jake back into the group chat

I knew Zander was protective of me but I didn't think he would go this far, at this point he's controlling my life.

Suddenly I hear a knock on my window, I look over to see someone I didn't expect

Lia

'What is Lia doing here?' I wonder in my thoughts as I walk over to the window

My window is small, I doubt anyone could fit through it. Trust me, I've tried already

I open the window but Lia just looks at me

I ignore that she's blushing, a cherry red blush spread on her face when I ask what she wants

"W-well.." she starts with a stutter "I wanted to say I'm sorry for sending that recording..."

She looks guilt and sad at the same time "I was j-jealous of Jake... I know you don't feel the same way but it still hurt to see that.."

My heart stops. Lia liked me?

"Y-you liked me?" I ask her sadly, she's right- I don't feel the same but I understand that she might feel hurt about it

"Yeah..." she sighs, looking like she's about to cry

"And Zoey found out and well... she's homophobic and she told her other friends and..." Lia says, but covers her mouth with one of her hands

"And..?" I ask her

"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to start ranting or anything.. after all I just came here to apologize..." Lia mutters the last part, as she starts leaving "Goodbye Hailey.." 

"Bye..."

[ Drew's POV ~ The Next Day ~ Behind the School ]

My breath hitches as I tap my foot against the grass. I hope Jake got my text. Liam and Henry shuffle behind me warily, wondering if Jake would actually come after what I told them happen yesterday

For the record, I wasn't planning on apologizing. He had insulted me, why should I apologize? Although, Henry said I should and Liam had agreed

All of a sudden, I hear footsteps, Henry, Liam and me look up to be greeted by our peach haired 'friend'

"What do you want Drew?" Jake hisses, I take notice of the bags under his eyes 

"Oh, just an apology." I snarl "Did you get any sleep last night? You look a bit tired?"

Jake glares at me. "An apology for what? You insulted Hailey!" Jake yelps, ignoring my last question

Liam and Henry back away as I start glaring back at Jake too

"Well, you insulted Zoey!" I yell

"Yeah! Only because you insulted Hailey!" Jake yells back, slapping me across my face

He slapped me, why shouldn't I be allowed to hit him back? I hit him in his stomach and he falls to the ground

"Woah, hey! Maybe we should calm down?" Henry whimpers, staying close to Liam who nods in agreement to Henry's statement

Me and Jake don't listen and end up fighting each other, nobody except Liam and Henry watching, no teachers to stop us.

In the end, me, Liam and Henry walk to class.

Liam casting quick glances over to Jake, who lays on the ground unconscious
