"I don't understand why I cant come with you."

Chris rolled his eyes. Him and Luke are having a stand off in front of Mace's apartment door.

"Luke, listen, I just told you its not a date if your there." Chris repeated for the 100th time.

"You well know it is! It'll be called threesome. Evans, I'm sure you heard of that." Luke leaned his shoulders at Mace's door. Seems like fully intending to stay there. His as tall as Chris but way thinner. He also knew that he doesn't stand a chance if Chris decides to tackle him.

Chris laughed. Shook his head. "Get out of my way."

A crew passes by. Chris and Luke waived at him, awkwardly.

"Luke, get out of the way, man. Come on. This is ridiculous." Chris repeated. Almost pleaded.

Luke moved away. Looking at Chris with a warning. He then went inside his own apartment, just next door to Mace's.

Chris proceeded to knock on Mace's door. A few seconds and she opened it. She was just wearing her usual outfit, jeans, a shirt and leather jacket to fend off the cold, cold night.

"Shall we explore?" Chris offered his arms which I took casually. That's my focus for tonight. Cool, casual, a friendly date. Just two friends checking out the area. Also, maybe sabotage it. To have it in Chris' head that this thing, with her, its useless. I'm not worth his time.

"Where do you plan to go?" I asked.

"I saw this bar just a couple of blocks from here. We can just walk." Chris said.

"It's freezing! I love it!" I said happily.

"No. its not. It stinks.I don't wike it." Chris walking beside me said grumpily. His arms crossed in front of his chest. The moment we walked out of the building I folded my arms in front of me. Not wanting to cause any talk. Keeping this a really friendly date.

I laughed at his lingo. That thing with his nephew. That's really adorbs.

"You dont like the cold weather? The beach then?" I asked.

"Nah, I hate the beach. I'm an "OK" weather kind of a guy." Chris answered.

"I'm the cold weather kind of a girl. I'm surprised though that you didn't liked the beach. I mean, usually egoistic guys who love to take their clothes off on TV are the ones who..." Yep, I said THE word. Egoistic. Designed specially to irk him.

"Whoa there! What did you just said?" He sounded annoyed and offended. Just what I thought.

All according to plan, I thought to myself, hate on me so this silly thing your doing will be over.

"Well yeah. Have you seen those, whats this, the bachelor series." I continued on.

"You watch those?!" Chris sounded incredulous. Maybe even thinking what he just gotten himself into.

"Nope. But they're all over the TV." Now that is a fact. Its all over the freakin TV.

He was quiet after that. I dare not look at him. I feel like anytime he's gonna ask for us to go back. Which is funny cause that's my whole point, but...well, hell. Stinky weather and a stinky companion. What more could you ask for right?

After a very quiet and uncomfortable walk, Chris pointed at the bar. Gestured for me to go ahead of him. Great thing when shooting in a different country, there's almost no paparazzi. So, yes, he's wearing a cap but he's required to shave his beard, making it easier to recognize him anywhere. Tonight, thank God, is different though.

The bar or pub or whatever you call it was a bit quiet. We're a little early too. I guess the place will be full before midnight and gauging from our present situation we'll be heading home an hour from now. I just got to play it right.

Sad though, I can never fully experience the "fun" Chris. Doesn't matter, I'll take this memory anytime. Him being pissed at me or not. This for me is special. No matter what.

"I dont drink." I immediately told him AFTER he got me a beer.

"What?!" Chris rolled his eyes. "But were here! What else do you do in a bar?!"

I shrugged, totally unapologetic.

He just looked at me. Studying.

I look at him too. Seriously.

He sighed, shook his head. And were done! I said to myself, were going home!

He really looks good. Chris' wearing a blue cap, black leather jacket and a blue stretched shirt underneath. He smells Oh so good too. Clean shaven. I was trying to memorize everything. Cause this...this date, this will never happen again.

I'm just trying to save you from all the boredom you're gonna get from being with me. I silently thought to myself.

And true to what I expected, he stood up, extended his hand to me.

"Shall we?"

I took his hands. Totally expecting that were leaving.

And then, he pulled me on the dance floor.

"What?! No!" I whispered at him furiously. "Chris, I don't want to make a freakin scene! Let me go!"

He ignored me, smirking. He took my arms and guided it up his neck. He saw the panicked look in my eyes. He choose the middle of the dance floor. We're in the middle of a sea of people slow dancing. Great.

"You have to breath, Mace." He reminded her. Trying to stop himself from laughing out loud. Serves you right, being an ass earlier, Chris thought.

"I hate you." I said under my breath. She can feel his whole body. Dammit! Her hands are beginning to sweat.

He wrapped his arms around my waist and continued to dance slowly.

Chris was chuckling.

"I hate you." I said again. I'm thinking of an escape route but there are people dancing beside us. I dont want to cause a scene for fear that it might affect Chris. I will never do that to him. So leaving the dance floor without him is definitely out of the question.

"What is it with you and close contacts Mace? Why do you skitter away?" Chris asked. His head tilted to the side. I don't think he can get any more gorgeous than this. Up close. And why the hell does he have those really long lashes?!

"Honestly, what this is. What you're doing. I don't get it. I think your wasting your time on me. I think you're just bored. Or have a concussion from all those fight scenes you do almost all day." Mace, always an honest one.

"That's why your trying to have those awful judgmental convos with me? You think that'll work?" Chris, referring to the "ego" comment earlier.

"Well, that one, I'm really wondering. I'm sorry if I offended you. Also, I'm not a fan of guys who take their shirt off any time they get the chance to do it." Mace, shrugged. Looking up into Chris's eyes. Really interested in his answer.

He looked hurt. "I hope you do realize that they required me to do it."

Now, I feel like a douche bag.

"Sorry. I'll drink a beer for you later. Truce?" I said sheepishly.

He shrugged, still serious. "Nope. Don't like the beach. Not really that kind of a guy. And the taking my clothes off thingy, don't we all do that? I mean, to us actors its just is. Its work."

I sighed, looking over his shoulder. "I'm not a person who wastes time or likes to waste time of other people. And this...you and me. This...we're just totally different. Our world is different."

"That doesn't mean a thing nowadays." He countered, cupping my chin so that I will look at him. "Its like, everything now have a possibility to be something." Chris, somber and thoughtful.

I looked over his shoulder again. Not saying anything. I don't believe him. Though I really, really wish I could. I know...I can almost feel it, that one of these days, one fateful day...he's going to break my heart.

With Mace deep in her thoughts, Chris can feel the anxiety leaving her body. They fit great together. There's no denying that one. He's actually totally surrendering to that fact. But a part of him is hesitant too. To be involved. How far can he go emotionally? Fuck it. Chris mentally shook his head, lets focus on the now. She's here. Now.

He is totally being selfish, he knows that, but for the life of him he can't help it. He tried. That voice telling him to try just wont be denied. Now I sound like fucking Bruce Banner. Chris almost laughed out loud. Feeling crazy whenever Mace is with him.

So, to shut his thoughts, Chris slowly dipped his head towards Mace. Fully intending to kiss her.

Mace tugged at the small hairs on his nape.

"Ow! Why did you do that?" His one hand tried to touch his sore nape. I took that chance and smoothly ducked and moved out of the dance floor. Grabbing his wrist, I tugged him along, not wanting to leave him there by himself.

Chris noticed the thoughtfulness. Not hard to fall in love with you Mace, he thought. Wait, What?! Whoa there Christopher! He mentally kicked himself.

I sat in one of the booths. "Just order your beer. I'll amuse myself with the food."

He looked at me and said, "That was a smooth one."

I laughed at him and shrugged. "I don't dance."

He shook his head and looked around.

"What do you want to do?" He asked.

"Me? I mean, really wanted to do tonight?" I perked up.

"Yes Mace, what do you want to do tonight?" He said with a naughty smile on his face.

"Definitely not what you wanted to do that's for sure." I said, smirking. "You know what Evans, I'll show you what I wanted to do tonight."
