Screams. Shrieks. Cries. The sound of footsteps pounding up and down steps. All of these noise woke a young blonde girl up from her vivid dream. The girl had bright blue orbs that widened in fear at the unfamiliar chaos than rang through the silence, piercing her ear like a needle.
She shot up when she felt the fire tickle her small toes. As the girl ran to find her parents, she heard pounding on the door and saw through the window that every house was on fire. Flames flickered and licked at every single artifact in her house, tearing everything crumbling and burning to ashes.
"Hide Yaruka!!! Outside!!!" The girl's mother shrieked, her loving orange eyes filling to the brim with tears. Yaruka gave her mom a tight hug, reluctant to leave. She looked up into those beautiful eyes that resembled the sun, longing for the comforting embrace that she was used to.
"But Momma... I don't want you to die. Momma..." The girl's eyes widened even farther in terror, looking like they could pop out of her head at any moment. "Momma where's Loki?!" The young one cried. Her mother pushed her away just mysterious figures in navy blue uniform kicked down the block of wood that was once a door. Yaruka ran to her backyard just to find a small boy around ten waiting for her, standing still and calm in the hot breeze.
"I LOVE YOU YARU!!!" Called out her father's voice, just before the blood of innocents spewed all over what was left of the walls. Yaruka ran into the boy's arms and sobbed uncontrollably. He gently picked her up, looking down on her with gentle pink eyes. Out of instinct, he cradled her so she could relax even in the slightest.
His feet carried him into the untouched forest, where a small toolshed hides behind the remains of a lightning struck elm tree. Fumbling with the lockpad, he finally broke open the door and pulled out a bag labeled 'EMERGENCY'.
Yaruka looked up at the older boy while trembling violently. She would have been able to recognize him, but her tears blurred out every detail in life. She didn't understand how he could have been so brave to even think about saving her. Why had he done it?
The boy felt her gaze and glanced down at her, flashing a charming smile. This smile could be recognized by anyone in all of the seven seas. It was Loki.
"Loki!" Yaruka cried out, wrapping her arms around his neck for both support and comfort. "Please don't ever leave me... I'm so happy that we are safe..."
Loki heard the cracking of wood and cursed. He grabbed a few pockets knives and shoved them into his pouch, before running off for help. He knew by the time he reached anyone, the rest of the town would be dead, so it wouldn't matter. But the largest issues was finding a place to stay for the night.
Sticks struck their small legs as Loki ran, using up all of his remaining strength to carry them to safety. The blood curling screams echoed, then faded into the darkness. And the journey to find a home began.
