A teen who, one would think, would have everything. Wealth, success, education, fame. But people are satisfied when their requirements are met. And not once in his life did Ash ever remember asking for wealth, success, education or fame.

No matter what, we yearn for what we don't have. No matter who, a person becomes frustrated when they don't have what they want.

"Why...", he muttered, "Why...why couldn't it have been real?"

The conversation kept repeating itself in his head.

"Clemont?"

"How did you know?"

"You invent, right? Right now, you know what I'm saying with that translator you invented. And your inventions blow up sometimes. No, all of the time"

"Ho-"

"You have a little sister. Bonnie. She makes fun of your inventions and searches for one to take your hand in marriage"

"I mean...yeah. But how do you know that? I don't remember mentioning that at the convention-"

"In my dream, you took me to a convention for these things. Right before the League"

"What are you talking abo-"

"You're a gym leader, right? The Lumiose Gym?"

Clemont threw his tools onto the ground and backed away in a protective stance. He was in fear, not of Ash, but of his words.

His father burst through the door.

"What's going on? Why are you still here? Clemont?"

The young inventor suddenly furrowed his eyebrows, shaking his head as he backed away.

"Stay away from me"

His fist made its way into his pillow multiple times, each time was more aggressive. Eventually he started punching faster, louder. More and more. But nothing happened. He could do anything in the world, and the dream would still be a dream.

"We were so happy...", he whispered shakingly through gritted teeth, "We laughed together...ventured together...even sulked and suffered with each other. I had a journey. Friends"

There was something else. A thought he'd been avoiding since he'd awoken. But how could he bring himself to think of such a strange idea?

"M-my Pokemon...it's stupid. Stupid. Stupid! It's all. So. STUPID!"

His screams couldn't be heard outside of his room, but that didn't prevent the power of the whole building crackling and shutting down suddenly. He froze, still teary-eyed as he realized what happened.

"Did..."

His windows, door, everything was a work of technology, and so he was locked in. But there was something that concerned him more.

"...Did I do that?"
