Nya's P.O.V.:

It was morning now and after a long ride, we finally arrived at the hospital. Kira went with Lloyd to get his arm checked out and I went to check on my brother. I couldn't wait to see him again, hopefully in better condition than how I saw him last.

I finally made it up to the room he was in and knocked on the door. My parents said that they had something important to take care of down at the shop so they weren't here today. Kai was probably feeling pretty lonely, even though he'd never admit it.

"Come in." I heard Kai say.

I came into the room and Kai was on the bed smiling at me. His leg and wrist were in a cast and he had burn marks on his skin, but he didn't look like he was in any pain.

"Hey sis!" Kai smiled at me. "Glad to see your safe and sound."

"I could say the same about you." I laughed. "How are you feeling?"

"Relax, the doctors say I'm going to be fine." He assured me.

"Thank goodness." I sighed in relief.

"Did you find Lloyd and Kira?" He asked.

"Oh yeah, that's a long story."

Over the next few minutes I explained to him everything that happened in the cave.

"Wow, you did all that?" Kai asked shocked and I nodded. "That's impressive sis, I'm proud of you."

"Thanks Bro." I smiled. Not to sound cocky but I was pretty proud of myself too.

"How is Lloyd?"

"Kira is with him now. She took him to get some X-rays on his arm." I told him.

"Wait, where's Skylor?" He set up.

"I don't know. She was supposed to call me but I haven't heard anything from her."

"She's still on the island?" He frowned.

"The island is in the middle of nowhere. It'll probably be a while before she gets service." I assured him. "Now you need to lay down and rest."

"But I'm bored. This TV gets like twelve channels and half of them aren't even in English. Not to mention the food is terrible." He complained.

"I know, but they need to make sure you're ok before they let you go."

"I know but it's just so hard being stuck here when I know you're out there facing the biggest mission of your life."

"You know I can handle myself." I crossed my arms.

"I know, but you've never been in a situation like this before."

"Would you relax, I've got everything under control."

Kai and I looked at the TV as the channel changed by itself. We both knew what that meant.

"This is Gayle Gossip from NGTV News reporting live from downtown Ninjago City where I am getting reports of the blue ninja going on another rampage."

"Oh Jay, what did you do to you now?" I frowned.

"You call that under control?" Kai looked at me.

"Shhh, I wanna hear this." I turned up the TV.

"It seems the blue ninja is attacking the city once again. I encourage all citizens of Ninja to evacuate to the..."

Before Gayle could finish, a familiar face pushed her out of the way and looked straight into the camera.

"Nya, I know you're watching this. If you want to see your friend alive again, you'll come to me alone. You have 24 hours. You know where I am. Jay, out."

Jay used his lightning power to zap the camera to point where it cut off. The screen went back to the channel it was on before.

I looked at Kai and I already knew what he was gonna say.

"No way." He said sternly.

"But he has Cole. I can't just let him kill him I have to do something."

I left and went to go tell Lloyd and Kira where I was going. Hopefully they would understand.

Lloyd's P.O.V.:

I was with Kira in the ER getting some X-rays on my arm. The doctor had confirmed that it was broken but she was waiting on a few more tests to come back to make sure I was ok and how long it would take for me to heal

Kira was sitting by my side, as she had been the whole time. I felt glad that she stuck with me this long, but at the same time I didn't want her to be dragged into more danger because of me.

I always felt like being the green ninja was too much of a responsibility to do anything else. Plus if I had a girlfriend it would put her in danger just being around me. I didn't want to risk that, but Kira was so cool and caring and I felt so comfortable around her. It was a feeling that I hadn't felt before, not even with Harumi.

"Lloyd?" Kira got my attention.

"Yeah?" I looked at her.

"Are you feeling alright? You seem kinda distant."

"I'm fine, just lost in thought I guess." I shrugged.

"I don't blame you, it's a lot to take in." She nodded. "How is your arm?"

"It's feeling better, thanks."

"Do you want me to get you anything?"

"No thank you, I'm alright for now." I smiled at her. "Thank you for taking care of me."

"Of course." She smiled back.

"I'm sorry I dragged you into this." I frowned.

"Dragged me into what?"

"All of this. We were kidnapped and locked in a cage and now we're going have to fight one of my best friends. I just feel like as long as you're near me you'll be in danger." I sighed. "If you want to leave, I'll understand."

"If I wanted to leave, I could've done that already." She smiled and took my hand. "I don't care how much trouble you get yourself into, you shouldn't have to face it alone. I care about you, so I'm here to help anyway I can."

I couldn't help but blush as a smile appeared on my face. She actually cared about me.

"Kira, there's something I wanna tell you." I took a deep breath. "I... I really like you, and not as a friend... I mean, of course as a friend too but... Oh I'm so bad at this." I facepalmed. "I guess what I'm trying to say is..."

Kira looked at me and gave me a quick kiss on my cheek. I was so shocked my whole face turned as red as Kai's ninja suit.

"Well said." I giggled.

She smiled at me and we looked into each other's eyes. Were about to kiss again when Nya bursted into the room. We immediately stopped and pretended like nothing happened.

"Lloyd!" Nya yelled. "It's Jay, he's in the city."

"Then let's go get him." I stood up.

"No Lloyd, you can't do anything with that bad arm." Kira insisted.

"But Skylor, Zane and Pixal aren't back yet and Kai can't fight either." I said.

"I know, that's why I'm going by myself." Nya stated.

"What? We can't let you go alone." I frowned.

"If I can get to Jay, maybe I can talk some since into him." She said. "He'll listen to me."

"Nya." We heard a voice come from behind her.

We turned around to see Kai standing there on his crutches. This is the first time I've seen him since we all got separated. He seemed pretty wiped.

"Kai?" Nya turned around. "What are you doing out of bed?"

"I can't let you do this sis." He looked at her. "Jay isn't the same person as before."

"You don't know that!" Nya screamed.

"He trapped Cole and I in a warehouse full of blastzap and he's destroying the city as we speak. Does that sound like the Jay you know?"

"He's under a spell, I can talk him out of it if I just get him to listen to me." Nya told him.

"It's too big of a risk." Kai said.

"Kai, this isn't your choice, it's mine. Jay is my fiancé and I love him and if the Jay I know is in there, I'm the only one who can get through to him. You heard what he said, if anyone else goes he'll hurt Cole. Even if it's a lost cause, I have to try."

Kai looked at her and sighed. "I'm only letting you go because I'm in no position to stop you. Just promise me that you'll be careful."

"Of course. Thank you."

Nya gave her brother a hug and Kai flinched. She immediately let go and looked at him.

"You ok?" Kira asked him.

"Yeah, the explosion really did a number me." Kai said holding his side.

"Are you gonna be ok?" I asked him.

"Yeah, what about you?" Kai asked looking at my arm.

"I'll be ok." I answered. "Kira's been taking really good care of me."

"That's actually what I wanted to talk to you about Kira." Nya said. "I need you to stay here with Kai and Lloyd."

"Of course." She nodded.

"What about you?" I looked at Nya.

"I have something important to do."

Nya said goodbye to all of us and left the room. I don't know what she had planned, but we all hoped she would be able to get through to Jay, if that was even possible.

Kai's P.O.V.:

After my sister left, Kira insisted I sit down and rest my leg a little. I didn't want to stay here, I wanted to help Nya, but honestly I wasn't feeling that great so I let Kira walk me back to my room and I laid down anyway.

After I got situated Kira left the room. A little while later, Zane, Pixal and Skylor showed up. I was so happy that they were all safe.

"Zane! Pix! Sky! You're all ok!" I smiled.

"Well, more or less." Skylor sighed.

I looked at Skylor and noticed her eyes. They were dirty and were a lighter color than they usually are. I hoped she wasn't hurt.

"Skylor? What happened?" I asked.

"There were some tremors on the island and the dust from the debris temporarily blinded her." Zane told me.

"Relax, I'll be fine." Skylor said.

"Did you find Lloyd and Kira?" Pixal asked me.

"Yeah, they're across the hall. Lloyd was pretty banged up."

"Is Nya here? I don't hear her." Skylor said.

"You just missed her." I frowned. "There was a message on TV. Jay said Nya had to go alone or he would hurt Cole."

"We've gotta help her." Skylar insisted. Just looking at her I could tell she was wiped.

"I want to help her too, but we can't." I sighed. "If Jay sees us he could hurt both of them. We just have to trust that Nya can get through to Jay."

"And what if she cannot?" Pixal asked.

"Then we need to be prepared I guess." I shrugged.

"I think we're going to check on Lloyd." Zane said.

"I'll keep Kai company." Skylor said.

Zane nodded as he and Pixal left the room. Skylor started feeling around the room guiding herself with her hands. She eventually found a chair and set down. She looked relieved to finally catch her breath.

"You seem tired." I shouted so she could hear me.

"I'm blind, not deaf." She giggled. "I can hear you just fine."

"Oh, sorry." I apologized. "I'm not really sure how that works."

"It's ok, and besides it's only temporary. I can't wait to actually see you again."

"I was worried I wouldn't see you again period."

"Sorry, I would've called but..."

"No need to explain, I'm just glad you're here now and that you're ok."

"Thanks." She smiled. "How are you doing?"

"I'm fine." I lied.

"I may be blind but I'm not stupid." She said. "You're not ok, I can hear it in your voice."

"Ok, the truth is I'm really worried about Nya."

"Nya is one of the toughest people I know, I'm sure she can handle this on her own." Skylor said before she yawned.

"You look exhausted." I frowned. "Go ahead and get some rest, I'll wake you if I hear anything."

"Thanks." She nodded and got comfortable in the chair.

After a few minutes she fell asleep. I knew I had to help my sister, so I got of out of bed as silently as I could and snuck out of the room. There was no way I was gonna let her do this by herself.
