I close my log and get up from my desk. I walk over and take a look at myself in my mirror.

I should probably get a new shirt.

What am I saying? When we're done with this voyage, I'll have enough damn money to buy every shirt in the Sea of Thieves. Besides, I'm a Pirate. When have we ever worried about looking presentable.

Now that I'm done doing... whatever it was I was doing, I open the door to my cabin, and am greeted by a cool breeze accompanied by the spray of the sea. I take in the ocean air, a smell I shall never tire of.

When I am done basking in the moment, I open my eyes to see my crew conversing among themselves.

Mr. Fish, the old man who is slowly becoming useless, is drinking grog as he slurs one of his tall tales. Fishing and cooking are about all he's good for these days. The only reason I haven't left him at an outpost is because those two skills have saved our lives once or twice.

Mr. Simon, the man who's been keeping our ship afloat, is laughing uncontrollably at Fish's drunken rambling.

Our weapons person, Mr. O'Shea, isn't exactly partaking in the conversation. He's busy making sure that our guns are in working condition and that our cannons are loaded.

Then we have the new lad, Mr. Davis. Normally Galleons can only have a crew of four, however they can take on a fifth sailor under certain circumstances. We found Davis stranded on a small, uncharted island. We offered to take him to Spiral Outpost, but he asked if he could join us, as he had no one else to go to. The lad is 18, only a year younger than I.

Mr. Fish stops mid sentence and looks over to me.

"Oh, G'mornin', Capn'." He greets.

"Mr. Fish." I reply.

I then look to Simon.

"Mr. Simon, is everything ready for our voyage?" I ask.

"Sails look good. Ship's in fine shape. She seems good to sail, sir." Simon replies.

"Good man. Mr. O'Shea!" I call.

The scrawny Irishman looks over to me.

"Are we locked and loaded?" I ask.

"Every gun is ready ta go, Captain." He says.

I nod with a smile on my face.

"Then we should be good to go. Mr. Simon, set the sails. Get as much wind as you can." I instruct.

"Aye, Captain." He replies.

"Mr. Davis! Head up to the Crows Nest and keep an eye out." I continue.

"Yes, Captain." He says.

"Mr. Fish, chart a course for our destination." I say.

"Aye, Sir." He says.

"Mr. O'Shea, wait for Davis' signal to man the cannons. If we do encounter other ships, do not fire until I say so." I instruct.

"Will do, Captain." He says.

Then they set off to do their tasks. Mr. Davis climbs the ladder to head to the Crows Nest. Mr. Fish heads below deck to plot a course. Mr. O'Shea decides to help Mr. Simon lower the sails and catch the wind.

And I... I sail the ship to glory.

Bring me that horizon.

Timeskip

After a few hours of sailing, Mr. Fish comes up with an uneasy look on his face.

"Is there something about the journey that's troubling you, Mr. Fish?" I ask.

"Well, uh... It's just that... I can't help notice that we're going east, Captain. And the information did say that the island we're looking for isn't in the Sea of Thieves." He explains.

Once he said that, I understood what was troubling him. There's only one place in the east that would make a Pirate on edge.

"You're worried that we'll have to sail into Azur Lane." I say.

"Aye... what if the island we seek is in the middle of those waters? You know that the ship girls don't exactly get along with Pirates." Fish reasoned.

He was right. The ship girls in Azur Lane and Pirate from the Sea of Thieves haven't had the best history. Some of the more ruthless Pirates have been known to attack the factions within Azur Lane. And there are some ship girls that come into the Sea of Thieves and attack Pirates of all kinds to blow off some steam.

"If we do cross into Azur Lane, then we'll just have to make sure that they don't notice us." I reply.

"And if they do?" Fish asks.

"Then let us hope that they're too wrapped up in their war to care about us." I reply.

"Oh, I'm sure The Eagle Union and Royal Navy will be willing to turn a blind eye as long as we leave them be. I'm more worried about the Crimson Axis. They've been known to fire upon Pirates on sight. Not only that, but the Eagle Union and Royal Navy could think that we're a scouting ship for a larger Pirate fleet." Fish explained.

"I understand your concerns, Fish. I share them. That is why we must be discreet as possible, should we enter their waters. And if we are noticed, by either side, then we will fly our flag proudly to show that we do not fear them." I say.

"Aye. You're right sir. After all, we have faced The Kraken and The Megalodon." Fish said, his overconfident smirk returning to his face.

"Faced is a strong term. We ran from both." I say.

"But we still lived." He says.

"True... now that I mention the flag..." I say.

I then look up at the Crows Nest.

"Mr. Davis, if you would kindly hoist the colors?!" I say.

"Aye, sir." He replies.

He then raises our flag. One that we could not be prouder to wave.

I then continue sailing the ship east.

We will claim this fortune.

Or my name isn't Captain Isaiah Sparrow.
