Jefs POV:

The creature then swung at me. I fell back, my back hitting the bark of a tree behind me. I scrambled to get up. It noticed my attempt to escape, toppling its entire body onto mine, pinning me down.

My jaw hit the frozen snow, my teeth biting into my tongue. I yelped. I felt its claws digging into my sides, through the fabric of my hoodie. The monster snarled before opening its mouth.

It then bit down onto my back. Its teeth felt like the blade of a chainsaw. I screamed out in agony as the beast only sunk its teeth deeper into my skin.

That was when gun shots were fired at the creature. The girl had a pistol in her hands as she shot at the being. It howled as the bullets flew into its flesh. It removed its jaws from my back abruptly, tearing off some of my skin.

The monster quickly grabbed me by the hood with its jaws, standing up. It swung me around violently, throwing me.

I landed on the frozen lake, rolling onto my side. I could hear the creature's loud howls along with more gun shots. I groaned out of pain, sitting up. I had dropped the walkie-talkie back where the Wendigo was. I could barely get up.

I had been thrown on the other side of the lake, far away from where the others were. I panted, blood oozing down my chin, looking down.

Blood dripped from my back and onto the ice. There was a smeared blood trail that stained the ice. It had showed up when I was thrown onto the lake.

I could see the main cabin's lights. It was pointless trying to go over there. I couldn't even stand. Even if I did try to get over there, I'd just lead the monster to the others. I'm pretty sure the creature is probably hunting me down to finish me off. It could probably smell the blood that came from my back from a mile away!

The gun shots stopped. A bright light emitted from where the girl and the creature were. I looked over to see her with a torch in her hands.

She threw it at the beast before running away. The Wendigo shrieked loudly, swinging its body around. It didn't like the fire at all.

I saw her pick something up before starting running towards me. Once she got to me, she attempted to pick me up. The girl grunted, her arms sliding underneath mine. "Jeez, . . . you're kinda heavy."

Soon enough, she had picked me up in bridal style, trotting away into the forest. But, . . . why didn't she go to the small cabin nearby?
