"Another warning?"

Rascal bent his nose and sniffed the ground as Frost groaned.

Red Fang Pack was slowly inching their border over to Flame Woods Pack. It seemed like almost every time they patrolled the border, the scent mark was closer than before. Tyrant wants to meet with their alpha and see if they can sort things out. But they refuse every time.

Alusia flattened her ears. "This is getting under my skin."

Moon, the leader of the group, raised her head at a bird's call. Her yellow eyes reflected the setting sun. "We just missed them. They were here not long ago."

Frost looked up at the sky. "I'm getting too old for this."

Rascal briefly glanced at the she-wolves. He rolled his eyes and scented the air. A delicious smell met his nose.

"Hey, do you guys smell that?" He asked curiously.

Alusia and Frost took in a sniff. Moon did as well and nodded. "Yeah. Is it.."

"....elk?" Frost perked up, hopeful.

Rascal couldn't ignore the pangs of hunger rippling his stomach. He licked his lips and shifted his paws.

Alusia jumped up on a large boulder to get a view. Her eyes grazed the land, then she stopped and stiffened. "Look!" She flicked her ears up.

Rascal leaped up beside her and stared off into the forest. He couldn't see what she was talking about until a blur of movement caught the corner of his eye.

His jaw almost dropped off his face. Out in the field beyond, was a large, juicy, fat bull elk.

Moon and Frost scrambled up beside them. Their eyes widened at the sight. They glanced at each other in disbelief, and back to the elk.

"Let's do it," Alusia whispered as she slunk off the rock. Rascal followed close behind, Frost and Moon each on a side.

The bare bushes made them vulnerable. So they tried a different approach. They looped around, keeping the elk in sight and made sure that the wind wouldn't change direction on them.

They settled behind some fallen logs and began forming a plan.

"Okay." Moon started. "The two quickest wolves will chase the elk this way. The two stronger ones will wait here and ambush it when it comes over these logs. Which of us is the fastest?"

Alusia stepped forward. "I think you and I are, Moon."

The she-wolf nodded. "Rascal and Frost will make the kill. Get in position."

They all split up and took their spots. Rascal crouched with his belly brushing the ground. He could see Alusia and Moon making their way around the trees. Frost shifted beside him and rustled some leaves.

Moon and Alusia jumped out of the shadows and gave chase. The elk let out a shriek of terror and headed straight for Rascal and Frost.

"Ready?" Frost mouthed.

"Ready." Rascal mouthed back.

It was almost upon them, but it skidded to a halt and yelled in surprise, stumbling the other way.

Rascal and Frost exchanged confused glances. They poked their head out, eyes widening.

Moon was pinned underneath a brown and white male. She bared her fangs in an angry snarl.

And Alusia was surrounded by three wolves. Her fur was bristling and spiked up.

Rascal and Frost leaped up beside the wolves. They surveyed the newcomers with wary eyes.

"Who are you?" Rascal demanded with as vicious a voice as he could.

The brown and white male glared up at him. "The name's Hawkeye. I'm the second-in-command of Red Fang Pack."

Rascal's ears flattened. He gulped and exchanged a look with Frost.

"We didn't mean any harm," Rascal tried to sound innocent. "Please let them go."

Hawkeye narrowed his yellow eyes. Moon squirmed beneath him with a look of fear.

The wolves around Alusia closed in and held her down. Frost stepped forward to attack, but Rascal motioned for her to stop.

Hawkeye shook his head. "You're coming with us."

Before Rascal could even react, one of the wolves leaped on him and pinned him. Another held Frost.

Using this as her advantage, Alusia slipped away from her tormenter and bolted off into the trees.

"YES! RUN ALUSIA!" Moon howled just as she was smacked across the face by Hawkeye.

Rascal clawed at his attacker, but Alusia's previous holder came over to help hold him down.

"Let us go!" Rascal ordered. He attempted to bite the paw of one of his attackers. But the pulled away quickly and hit him in the face.

Rascal groaned and rolled over on his stomach. A wolf grabbed his head in their jaws and slammed him down hard.

His vision faded in and out until the throbbing pain finally made him black out.

A beautiful golden field stretched in all directions. The sun touched it perfectly, making it glow like a star.

Rascal gazed around in awe. The golden grass was soft and warm under his paws. He felt all tingly and happy, and he couldn't suppress a howl of laughter.

He rolled in the grass, still laughing all happy and care-free. A butterfly landed on his nose. He smiled as it fluttered it's wings and took off in the sky.

Rascal sprang to his paws and ran. He followed the warm breeze, going wherever it took him.

The scenery went past in a blur. His paws carried him along swiftly. The sky was orange and yellow from the rising sun.

A brook whispered over the stones. Fireflies flickered and twinkled as they flew. Crickets jumped from the grass, springing high into the air.

Rascal didn't pause. He felt like he was on top of the world. He felt his breath would never end.

He was so busy bouncing through the field, that he hadn't noticed the small form standing on a hill.

He tilted his head. Eyes shining in curiosity.

"Rascal?" A soft voice asked.

He recognized that voice anywhere:

"E-Ella?"

The small she-wolf stepped into the light. A smile of joy was plastered on her muzzle. She bounded to meet him.

Rascal rested his head in hers. The scent of his sister made him feel safe again. He pulled away and looked at her.

"It's great to see you!" He exclaimed.

"Likewise." Ella lifted her tail. The gleam in her eyes was as bright as ever as if she was really in his dream.

"I've missed you," Rascal whispered. "It's weird, not having you beside me."

Ella dipped her head. "I know. And I can't come just yet." She looked at the ground. "I've had a dream..."

Rascal perked his ears. "Really? What kind of dream?"

Ella hadn't noticed she'd spoken up. Her face twisted in alarm. "O-oh...It's nothing actually."

Rascal wanted to know more. "Tell me about it. I'll understand, whatever it—"

"Rascal," Ella interrupted. "It's nothing okay? All I can say is I can't come yet. I have a destiny. And I think it's linked to me returning to you."

Rascal glanced at his paws. "Okay," He whispered. "Whatever you say, Ella."

Ella licked his cheek. "Just trust me, Rascal. I promise you won't regret it."

1,186 words.

Heya peeps! This was a random chapter. I was having trouble figuring out what should happen next.

So Rascal, Moon, and Frost are captured by Red Fang Pack. How will they escape?

Story Fact 4: There were originally going to be two other Packs (not counting Red Fang) they were called Canyon Pack and Northern Pack. But I thought it was pointless since those packs didn't appear in the first story very often.

P.S. Feel free to draw art on my characters! I would LOVE to show off the talent of my amazing readers! Anndddd because I can't draw anything to save my life XD
