"Where is your plane?" Ivy asked.

"Oh, yeah." I said.

I then pressed a button on the remote and the jet appeared.

"Cool, can you drop me off in the future New York?" Ivy said,

"Sure thing, we'll be there in an hour." I said.

"What am I to do with myself until then?" Ivy asked.

"There is a training room." I offered.

"Cool, let me know when we get there." Ivy said.

Characters are interesting, some of them are very similar to people in real life. Others of them originally I base them off people I know but they seem to adapt and change. Finally I have a handful of characters who I look at and think, 'interesting you don't remind me of anyone I know.'

I love all of my characters and I have to admit, sometimes they really surprise me. But I guess that is one of the things I love about writing.

I guess giving examples of characters that fit my descriptions roughly may help.

Over the years, I have noticed that I have been writing less and less characters that stay true to who I base them off of. The only couple that you know that I can think of are Wonder and Beu who I have mentioned once. Beu especially is true to who I based her off of which is an old friend named Em. Wonder was originally based off of me and I think we are definitely very similar. Our characteristics and determination to change the world are almost identical. The only real differences is that Wonder is more outgoing than I am. That and she has powers and I don't, unless you count creating characters and making them do what I want a superpower, which I do.

My characters that are originally based off of someone I know and then they adapt are really fun characters to write. My prime example of this is 17/X/S/XS-17/Sammy. Yes, he has a lot of names but that wasn't the original plane. Originally I was going to have him go by X or Sammy. But he changed and became more secretive than I thought he would be. Originally, he was based off of a guy I knew, named Sammy. Sammy was literally the inspiration for him because he wore this F.B.I. hat around while we were traveling with my dad's school to New York. I have to admit, the character Sammy has changed a lot though.

Typically my characters who I don't take characteristics from people I know I have noticed and am now realizing they are less beloved because I as a writer like them less and care for them less. So, I will have to work on that.
