Misty Waterflower was always known for her quick ass temper. She was and still is the girl that will blow up in someone's face when ever she disagrees with someone. It wasn't a problem in middle school as all the guys thought that she was crazy but in high school everything seemed to change.

The once scrawny Misty turned into a model out of a magazine. Most of her new look was achieved from hard work at the gym, on the track and in the pool but with her family history I always knew she'd end up this beautiful. Also guys really started to change their view on her temper. In their view, she went from being this crazy, scrawny, loud middle schooler to being a fiery, hot, loud high schooler.

However, to me at least, she was pretty in middle school and I always was attracted to her temper cause well...let me explain.

I'm Ash Ketchum, I've known Misty for a long time after we met at this lake. We've been childhood friends since before I can remember.

I'm middle school I'd say I was pretty popular around girls but that was due to being best friends with the most popular guy, Gary Oak. However no matter how many girls would try and catch my attention, I always stayed by Misty. Even Gary, who was incredibly popular, saw her as his little sister, considering she's eleven months younger than him. I introduced Gary to her years ago and we've been a trio ever since. Gary and I aren't stereotypical popular rude high school boys, Misty will always be a part of our lives and school won't change that.

The thing is, Misty was never exactly popular. Girls scorned and jeered upon her. Misty though would always counter act with her temper and that just made them hate her more. They hated how a 'runt' like her would hang out with Gary and I. Misty and I teased each other a lot but when something that some girls said really got to her I'd always respond with comment on how the other girls were scared of her taking Gary or I off the market because of her charm and cuteness. She would always recoil in disgust but I could tell it made her feel better. Of course I never said those words exactly but I did think she was pretty cute in middle school.

Though in high school she's grown from a really cute girl to an actual babe and that is a huge problem.

Boys never looked at her much in middle school, probably because they were to busy playing video games or deciding what hallway to throw the next stink bomb but now they're all over her! She's not helping as she acts like it's the most natural thing in the word by flirting with them all back.

Still, one wrong comment or one wrong brush of a hand in a not so appropriate place could end with either a hard slap earning a day of detention, knocking the guy on the floor and earning two days of detention, or yelling loudly through the hallways causing a huge scene which would end up with the guy getting detention.

And it all three ways she looks even hotter than when she's relaxed.

Anyway, I'm not to fond of all the guy attention Misty has been getting. So much so I've even slyly confronted her about it. Looks like I even have to do it now as I notice a bunch of guys giving Misty that look.

"Misty I don't like when those guys stare at you" I say rather slyly of course as to not hint at anything.

"Sorry you're jealous Ashy, I can't help it if guys stare at me just as you can't help if girls stare at you."

Ok that was a pretty nice comeback, maybe I wasn't being as sly as I thought but I have to show her how girls staring at me is a lot different then guys staring at her... after I tell her how not jealous I am.

"First off Misty I'm not jealous at all."

She rolls we eyes at the statement but I continue on.

"Second it's a lot different when girls stare at me than when guys stare at you."

"Ooh I'm excited to hear this." Misty says as she closes her locker and leans up against it.

I clear my throat and try not to look directly into her eyes before I speak. "I don't flirt with girls who talk to me like you do with guys."

Misty just laughs slightly "you are so jealous"

Before I can even respond the bell rings so she gets up off her locker to walk to marine biology. I unfortunately chose to take physics so I have to walk in the opposite direction of where Misty is headed.

"Saved by the bell Ashy, I'll see you later" she says as she kisses my cheek and winks at me, leaving me gaping in the dust, my face still red from that unexpected kiss.

"So So Ashy boy, started a little fling with Misty now did you?"

That snapped me out of my gaze as I slowly turned to give a glare Gary's way. "First of all we are not a thing and second of all even is we were something, it wouldn't be a fling."

I tried to say the second part quietly but Gary did hear me and started to grin like crazy. " I knew it I knew it! You do like Misty! She's been liking you since the sixth grade, you've gotta go for her, especially with all the attention she's been getting. Earth to Ash, come on Ash, stop daydreaming! You've got it bad for Misty don't you."

I didn't even notice I was daydreaming to be honest but Gary was right when he said it was about Misty. Obviously I'm not going to tell him that.

"Wait wait wait, the sixth grade! And don't you think I've realised all the attention she's been getting lately?!"

"Yes the sixth grade, you really are slow at these things. Anyway, I've heard that Dorian Mizu has hopes for asking Misty on a date. You know, he's the one in our math class, the one who's a life guard and surfs all the time. Misty can't wait on you forever and I'm sure she'll say yes. I'd make your move soon.

This didn't make me angry, this made me scared but I know what I have to do.

"Ash where ya goin'? Physics is the other way!"

"I've gotta do something Gary, I'm gonna be late!"

I think he responded but I couldn't hear him. At this point it doesn't matter. I can't wait any longer.

I just barge into the room, everyone's doing an assignment but I just look directly at Misty.

"Sorry, I just need to borrow her for a moment, I'll be back."

"But sir you can't-"

I don't let the teacher respond as I grab Misty's hand and dragged her out of the room after sending a harsh glare Dorian's way.

"What are you doing Ash, I was in the middle of an important assignment! I only have forty minutes!" Misty hisses. I can tell by her tone she's about to explode.

"Gary said- uh never mind, let me start over" I said, capturing her hands in mine. "Well anyway Misty I wanted to tell you something important."

She looks unimpressed "while I'm missing my favorite class."

"Ehehe sorry about that... I realise how that the timing isn't exactly ideal" I said sheepishly "But after Gary told me Dorian had a thing for you I just needed to-"

"Wait wait wait, what? Dorian doesn't like me like that at all. He likes someone else... Gary probably was lying."

Relief ran over me, that solves that issue. Now I just need to figure out how I'm going to tell Misty. I'm getting even more nervous by the second. I just say exactly what's on my mind.

"I can't take it anymore with all those guys staring at you Misty! Is this how you feel when girls stare at me? I mean, all the guys who called you crazy in middle school are all over you and I can't take it! I like you Misty and I want you to choose me."

It did feel good to get that out there but something tells me Misty isn't happy as she looks to be getting angry. "Are you kidding me?" She says in a low tone. That's the tone Gary and I know as the get away from me now for be the brunt of my fury tone. I gulp, this isn't how I planned for it to go and this certainly isn't good.

"Do you honestly think I'd date or even talk to one of those guys, I mean honestly, if they can't handle my temper then they can't deal with me now even is their opinion has 'changed'. Also, I know you and Gary are best friends but don't listen to him! You should know better then to trust him when it comes to these things. Finally if you knew I liked you from Gary, who I was stupid enough to trust, why didn't you wait until ninth period!"

I didn't know what to do. Misty was ready to explode in the middle of the hallway so I did the only thing that could get her to be quiet. I kissed her.

She was speechless after and I couldn't help but smile. "Looks like I found something to keep you quiet." I said after, proud of myself. It's amazing how such a little kiss could make her speechless. She's still pretty cute like that.

"You will regret that comment later Ketchem."

I just laughed and grabbed her waist to pull her closer to me. She immediately turned red. I know she was never a fan of affection in public places and will never hesitate to call out Gary's constant PDA in the hallways.

"Detention!" A teacher said loudly and abruptly, making us both spring apart. "You obviously both don't have passes and I've gotten a call from your teacher that you just left class young lady" the woman said, pointing to Misty. " And you!" she said, aghast "you pulled her out of the class! The girl just let you take her and that's why she's in trouble as well. As today is Friday I will give you detention for today only but don't do anything like this ever again, do you understand!"

We nodded curtly but the minute the secretary was out of view we started laughing. Misty kissed me. "I'm not counting detention as our first date you know."

"Hey, it'd make a pretty interesting first date, don't you think?"

She stared at me, not amused. "Ash Ketchum, I have waited five years for this moment and no way will I have our first date be in detention. I want our first date to be a place on the list of locations I made."

I'm not surprised she wouldn't want our first date to be in detention, she's too much of a romantic for that. However the list of locations part caught me. "List of locations, really Mist?"

She cracks a small smile "well a girls gotta be prepared. Now come on, no point in going to science, lets head to the music wing to wait for ninth period.

Eventually when we did get to detention, the man in charge didn't look to surprised to see Misty.

"Ahh Miss Waterflower, did you have another out burst today?" The man says while Misty looked up at me. "Technically but considering the prize, one detention won't kill me."

We did get through detention and I spent the rest of the day with Misty, after I made it known around the school through social media that we were dating of course to get rid of the guy problem. Misty, who wanted to wait on telling people, got mad at me. It was ok though. I've got her along with her beautiful yet terrifying temper to go with it.

So yes, this is my first AU high school fanficton. I've been waiting to publish this. I don't know if I'll do high school again though.

Also I just realised, nine more one shots left after this one! If I did the math correctly, it should end March 23 so it won't be ending for a while but I don't know what I'll do next after this.

Maybe I'll actually write in my one shot book or maybe there might be a story coming... maybe

Also Dorian is from the Pokemon episode Just Add Water. He's a unofficial gym leader. I wanted to put someone in who wasn't Rudy or Danny.
