So idk how many of you are keeping up to date with the rumors behind the new Star Wars movie, but with all the secrecy around the characters, many fan theories have been on the rise. Many questions are being asked now that the movie is only half a month from its release: Who is Kylo Ren? Where is Luke Skywalker? Is Rey the daughter of Han and Leia, etc.

One of the interesting theories behind Kylo Ren (the guy with the cross guard red lightsaber if you didn't know his name) is that he is actually Jar Jar Binks, what I refer to as "Binks Theory." I've known about this idea for quite some time but just now started reading up on it, it's actually rather well constructed. It basically is founded on the idea that Jar Jar makes many subtle moves to imply that he's more than the obnoxious klutz that he makes himself out to be. From Jedi mind tricks to a master of the "Drunken Fist" Wushu fighting style, this theory claims that this less-than-ordinary gungan is actually one of Star Wars 7's greatest villains! It's too much to explain all on here, but give it a read, it's actually not a troll, it's a decent theory. Of course, we won't know until Dec 18th, and the hype is building even more for the new movie.

Anyway, now for some life updates...

So my last day of classes for my first semester of grad school ended yesterday. I can now say I've officially taught a class for the first semester and I've found that I really liked it. I got a lot better and more comfortable with it as I went along, and I think I've really progressed from how nervous I was to start it at the end of the summer.

As far as my own classes went, I have to say that grad school is a lot harder than the undergrad. The transition feels about the same as the transition from high school to college, if that says anything. I didn't adjust that well to start with, but I've learned a lot about how to succeed in grad school from my first semester. I'm just now realizing how much time and effort you have to put into it just to get a B average, which is something that I haven't really had to do before. Not that my undergrad was really easy, but it wasn't extremely hard just to get A's in my classes.

Anyway, now I just have 3 final exams standing in my way, but these are all very important. Basically I need a 3.0 GPA to keep my scholarship, which is pretty much the only reason I'm able to stay in school because it would be expensive otherwise. I'm on the border line right now, so it's all up to how well I do on these finals... So wish me luck, I really want to be able to stay at grad school so I really need this 3.0!

That's basically it for now.. Relaxing a bit for the weekend and then the studying grind begins. I'll let you all know how it went, see you in the next update!
