Question from Adam_Bibinski !
What inspired you to start writing about Star Fox?

This is a pretty deep question, with quite a long answer. As you all probably know by now, I am really long-winded, so here's my long-winded answer.

The main reason that I began WRITING about Star Fox was because I really wanted to write about action and adventure, and Star Fox was my main outlet to get this done. What I mean is, as a kid, I loved watching action shows like the Anime show "Naruto," where ninjas battle almost every episode. I wanted to be able to write like that, with a lot of action, suspense, and intricate storylines with a variety of detailed characters. And of course, a huge game at that point of my life was Star Fox Adventures, so naturally, I took the approach of using this writing style for one of my favorite games.

My first few stories I wrote as a kid, and I'll be honest, they were probably pretty terrible. I hand-wrote them with pencil and paper, and the storylines for them were very unrealistic, sometimes plunging the Star Fox team into the world of another video or computer game I was currently playing. Though they were early efforts and my writing style was not at all very developed, I continued working on it over time to arrive at the point I am at now.

Why Star Fox, over all of the other games I could have written about? It's hard to explain, but I really wanted to tie the Star Fox characters into this "Naruto" style story, with lots of fighting and especially hand-to-hand combat. I was just so engrossed in the storyline of Star Fox Adventures that it wanted me to create more. Of course, in my younger age and even now, I can't possibly create my own video game or movie out of the many ideas in my head; at the time, and still to this day, my only real way to get these ideas out to the world is in writing. Writing is really my only way of getting it all out, so that's what I went with. After many years of writing, working on my own style, and reading the work of Erin Hunter (author of the Warriors series), I finally found what I needed to write a real Star Fox novel, or whatever you would want to call it, Star Fox: Eclipse.

Hope that answers your question, and isn't TOO far off topic... I just like to rant :3
