The Vaporeon and Umbreon live together in a home where the river meets the sea. It is perhaps a strange home, open to the rain and the moon, whichever choses to show itself. But its occupants love both.

Their days are spent playing together on the beach or in the woods. They race through trees, hold building competitions, weave flowers together. Once she discovers them, she decides to keep a seashell collection. He loves to bring her new ones, particularly unusual shells in shades of pale pink and orange.

They are different from when they first met each other, so long ago. She is a sleek creature of blue scales and delicate fins. He is a graceful figure of black fur and glowing marks. They love each other all the same.

From sunset to sundown, you can hear their laughter and conversation echoing through the trees. When the sun sets, you can sometimes see them asleep together in the moonlight, or hear splashing as they take a midnight swim.

Once, they were too shy and afraid to speak with other Pokémon. Now, they have no fears, so long as they are together. They make a point of meeting all of the Pokémon who live by the sea, and devote themselves to protecting them.

Humans are never seen in their remote corner of the world. If they were, the Vaporeon and Umbreon would chase them away before they could do any harm to their perfect little sanctuary.

They only take one trip away from their new home, to journey back up the river and visit the place the Vaporeon lived in her youth. The Umbreon loves it, the little pond and its lilies, and they stay there for a couple of nights. The Umbreon takes her to his old home, which she thinks is lovely, although it is too small to fit both of them in their new bodies.

When they return to their new home, they feel as though they have properly departed from their old lives and are free to continue on with their new one.

It takes some time to properly get to know each other, to learn each other's likes and dislikes. They trade stories of their youth, even the ones that hurt to tell. It brings them closer together.

They live a simple, peaceful life. They protect the Pokémon around them, so no others will have to flee in fear of humans. They swim and run and play, together for the rest of their days. They are happy.
