Neil had a bad headache when he woke up the next morning and it all came back to him slowly. The memories of last night spent with Ananya, and then Ananya turning into a stranger - Avni..

Neil was feeling better emotionally than what he had felt last night, but his bitterness remained. He was bitter at losing his true love, or what he had thought to be true love. He decided he had been smitten with Avni, and by her own crafty machinations. He decided it was all an illusion. She was nothing but an ordinary criminal. She was nothing to him. But he did not understand that then why suddenly his eyes became wet. He just wiped the useless tears away. Not worth shedding these like this. Not worth shedding these over an impostor.

Neil also realized that he had said yes to being married to Riya the day after. He did not feel anything about it. Sad, desperate, happy.. nothing. It did not matter anymore, nothing did. His family met him over breakfast and he wished them back. He even smiled when they said something, he did not hear what they were talking about. He was normal in front of everyone. He ate whatever was there in his plate, he did not really feel any taste. He then excused himself and messaged his boss and DD that he was taking the week off, he assumed everyone will understand after yesterday, and even if they did not he did not care!

In Neil's office all thought he and certain other teammates of his were under stress and trauma or burnt out and hence they were taking some days off. Some of his closest comrades at the police academy, such as Mitali wondered why Neil needed to take the week off. She knew he was cast in stone when it came to work and that he would not be put off by any amount of action. But she thought that everyone has a breaking point, and maybe the raid was Neil's..

What no one knew was that Neil was not burnt out, but he was broken-hearted. His emotional affiliation with Avni was not known to anyone, and so no body suspected anything, except his loyal deputy.. DD.

DD called Neil to check upon him and was slightly surprised when Neil's mom picked up the phone.

DD (in a cheerful voice) - "Hello mata ji! Kaise ho aap, paay laagu! Neil sir ne chutti li to maine socha check kar loon. He He He..! Kahan hain wo!"( Hello Neil sirs mom. How are you. Neil sir took holiday so I thought I'll check on him)

Shweta - "DD! You lazy helper! Tillu ki shaadi hai parso aur tu station mein hai! Tu bhi chutti le ke yahan pe aa! Neil is busy with wedding works!"(Tillus wedding is there Day after. Come here and help Neil with wedding work)

DD was speechless for a good part of ten seconds. He then replied - "Mata ji. Sh.. sh.. shaadi?!"(Wedding?!)

Shweta - "Aur nahi to kya? barbaadi? Tu aata hai ki nahi!"(What else. Are u coming or not)

DD - "Haan haan mataji. wo main abhi aaya bas! Par mata ji ek sawaal hai.. Wo shaadi kisse?"(Of course. I'm just coming. But one query. Whom is he marrying?)

Shweta (getting angry now) - "DD, kal injured to my tillu was, par lagta hai dimaag tera kharab ho chuka hai.. Shaadi Tillu Riya se hi karega, who else se?"(It seems my son was injured but you've lost your mind. He's marrying riya. Who else)

Shweta then kept the phone and DD was even more confused. He knew that Neil was engaged to Riya, in a way as his mom had given her word. But he knew there was no ring ceremony. And he knew that definitely Neil sir was not interested in Riya, or in any relationships post Juhi madam died. Till DD saw Neil with Ananya madam, he was not even sure if Neil can fall in love again.

But yesterday, it was clear to DD that what had made his sir into a happier man. Who it was that his boss loved! DD was relieved in fact when Ananya took in Neil, she looked mature and capable. She also looked someone who has seen pain and is no stranger to rough side of life. DD appreciated that, he had seen hardships in his life and appreciated the character of someone else who seemed to have gone through a lot.

But what was this happening. Why was Neil sir marrying Riya! DD was totally confused till he got Neil's call back. He picked up on first ring.

DD - "Sir yes sir!"

Neil - "DD , mom told you called. Kuch hua kya?"(What happened)

DD - "Sir I called to check upon you. And mata ji se baat hui. Par sirji. Ye kya.. Riya madam se shaadi.?!"(I talked to your mom. But what is this sir. You're marring riya madam?)

Neil - "DD, wo sab chodo. I dont care ki ab meri kisse shaadi ho. Par mera ek kaam hai. Bahut bharose ka kaam hai. Kar paoge?"( Leave all that. I don't care whom I marry. But do one trusted job for me. )

DD - "Sir yes sir!"

Neil - "To phir pata karo, ki wo ladki kaun hai, Ananya. Jo tumse kal mili thi. Pata karo ki Avni Ayesha kaun hai, jo uss ladki ka asli naam hai. Aur pata karo, wo mujhse kyun mili thi!"( Investigate who's ananya. And who's avni ayesha. And tell me why did she meet  me)

DD was surprised. He would not have guessed that Neil was investigating that girl.

DD - "Par sir.."(But sir)

Neil - "DD, uss ladki ne mujhe dhoka diya hai. Main jaanna chahta hoon kyun..aur main uske khilaaf proofs bhi collect karna chahta hoon..If I have to, I will put her in jail for her criminal activities."( That girl has cheated me. And I want to know why. And also I want to collect proofs against her.)

DD could not believe that Ananya or Avni would do anything to harm Neil. As a third person observer, he had seen her, he had seen her when Neil could not see the look in her eyes. When she saw injured Neil, her expressions were not fake. She was not pretending the hard stony look when she said she is used to deal with blood. DD had not got the bad vibes from her, and he could not see what had happened. He told Neil he will immediately get to work.

But in his mind, DD knew what had to be done. He had to carry out an impartial investigation and to check the innocence and reality of Avni Ayesha. In DD's eyes, Neil and Avni were still made for each other, no matter what Neil thought right now.
