Neil was in the car already. He was waiting for Avni. He had a grim expression on his face.

They were going to meet Avni's lawyer who would file divorce papers. Finally that moment had come.

Avni came towards the car, walking slowly. Neil could see she still needed some rest and care. But there was not much of an option left now.. that moment had come that he had been dreading.

Avni asked him to drive the car to her lawyer's estate. They were going through an inter city state highway to another town as Avni wanted to do this quietly and not in their home town. She did not want to create a news about it.

NEil drove in silence and Avni was quiet as well. There was not much to talk now. But both their heartbeats could be heard. It had been raining since morning. Although it was monsoons but so much rain had not happened since quite sometime. It was almost as if weather had the same attitude as Avni and NEil today.

Neil was a good driver so despite being distracted by where they were going, their car was doing fine. It was a very scenic route with a mountain on one side and a forest down a ravine on the other.

Neil switched the radio on and the song 'aii dil Hai mushkil' started playing. Neil started humming the lyrics and avni was looking at her scenery with her head bent away from Neil. Neil adjusted the driving mirror so that he could see avni without really looking at her.

And he smiled again as he looked at her, lost in the good weather and looking so calm. He wished they were going on a holiday and not to do this. But Neil always lived in the moment. That's how he had gotten over previous tragedies in his life. And even now he was living in the moment.

Avni on the other hand was thinking about the past. About how Neil had helped her all these days. About how he had slipped up. And how again he was with her now. By her own childhood history she knew that past repeats. History is studied for its patterns and her history was too dark. It was like tidal waves bringing destruction would come up. So Neil was like ashish and avni was like ayesha..they were doomed to be unhappy.

Neil suddenly applied brakes. Avni was lurched forward from her thoughts into the present. She saw what neil had seen and tried to avoid. It was probably a herd of small goats and cattle that was crossing the road.

Neil got down to check and help with smooth passage once the cattle didn't move even after some minutes.. Avni looked on from the car.

She saw the shepherd was a kid. A kid hardly older than she had been when she had gone through all that. She followed his movements. The kid was trying to get the cattle moving but they would not follow his lead. Then she saw neil stepping up there. He started helping the kid remove the animals from the road. At the end of it he ruffled the kids hair and kid smiled at him happily.

And then Neil came back into the car. He saw avni waiting and said -"sorry..was trying to get it resolved "

Avni didn't speak anything. Neil could see she was still looking at the other side. So he sat and started driving again.

And then Neil looked in the mirror and saw that Avni was crying. He got alarmed and stopped the car on the side of the road. There was greenery on both sides, one side on a mountain and the other side in a deep ravine.

Neil asked avni what had happened but she didn't reply.

He got out and went to the door on the passenger's side and opened it. He then bent and held avni.

Neil -"are you OK? Pain ho raha hai avni? "(Are u in pain)

Avni didn't speak. Then Neil squeezed her hand and then lifted her top a little to check her wounds where stitches had been removed. It seemed to be closed and alright!

Neil couldn't understand but he had to and quickly. They could not stay at this forest place for long as well..

He helped avni step out of the car and then held her by the shoulders gently. He bent a little and asked -"Avni. Kya Hua? Please bolo as I'm getting worried"(What happened. Pls tell..)

Avni looked at him still crying and then to Neil's surprise she came forward and hugged him tightly.

Neil slowly put his arms around her and kept on saying -"baby. If you don't tell me. How will I know what's troubling you. Please speak"

Avni was crying in his shirt he felt. And then she spoke something close to his ears and so he was sure he couldn't have heard it wrong.

Avni -"i was wrong"
