There was once a pirate. He went by the name scraffle and he was a mean bark. He was cold and he'd do anything for some boots. Only few knew his name and that name was Luka.

A day came where he made a deal as usual. If he found a mermaid, mythical and rare as they were, he'd be given bounties of gold. Scraffle didn't care what they did after.

Days and days passed and he became doubtful. He hadn't seen a single mermaid. Was it for nought. Ironically he only saw a mermaid, during the night. He was amazed. She looked absolutely gorgeous and he decided to get close to her.

It wasn't easy, because she was always unguarded and eventually he reached her heart. However his heart was filled with guilt. He'd come to care about her and he was about to lead her to her death.

It was another day. It was cold this tune and sky told tales of an upcoming storm, for it was slightly foggy and the sky was as grey as the clouds. Marinette had broken the usual schedule and met the captain during the day. He was pleased, but feared for her.

He had snuck away to a much quieter part of the ship and there he conversed with Marinette. She convinced him to join her in the waters and he felt much relaxed than he had in a while, albeit the cold.

The two were distracted and laughing unaware. Luka had only swam a few strokes away, when he hears her cries of pain. He turned and saw her clutching at the bloody harpoon imbeded in her gut. She struggled to pull it out, let alone swim away.

He swam toward her alarmed and he growled angry. He glanced up at the ship of Ealsewig, the man in which he made a deal with. He shouted and begged. Ealsewig only laughed. "Have you gone soft mate??" "I thought we had deal. You give me the mermaid and you get your gold?" "What's the matter with you?!" He shouted back.

Luka couldn't bring himself to look at her. He knew her face held contempt and shock at the betrayal. He opened his mouth to protest again, but was interrupted by shouts of alarm. The water's ripples increased and he could sense the slight shake from a quake. The next thing that followed was a huge wave crashing on everyone. Luka instinctively dived for Marinette and held her as they both sunk along with everyone else and the broken ships.

He coughed and spluttered with panic. They had never encoubtered a destructive storm like this!

He tried to swim them both back up but was pushed back down by another wave. He could only regret as he sunk with her. As it happened, her body dissolved in his arms and he was left feeling cold, blank and overwhelmed.

He gave up seconds later and surrendered himself to death, so he could join his lover.
