I actually asked a question on my IG story on what tutorials should i make using ibispaint x, so tysm for those who answered, hehe

Hi everyone! :> I hope you can follow through this step-by-step tutorial on how I usually detail the eyes on IbisPaint X.

ㅡ❊ㅡ

1. Open a new canvas by clicking the [+] sign on the My Gallery page.

2. Add the image of your faceclaim and add a new layer above it. If you already know how to do this, skip to #3.

(refer to image above for 2.1-2.4)
2.1. Click the stacked boxes icon (as underlined on the pic) which is the layers button to see the layers.

2.2. Click the camera icon to add your faceclaim's image.

2.3. Now you added the image.

2.4. Click the [+] as underlined on the pic to add a new layer.

3. Change the blending mode of your new layer from Normal to Add. (If you already know how to do this, skip to #4.)

(refer to image above for 3.1-3.3)
3.1. Click the rectangle button which has a default text of 'Normal' on it, beside the 'alpha lock' button, to open up the Blending Modes tab.

3.2. Scroll through and select 'Add'.

3.3. Click the double arrows icon to close the layers tab.

4. Zoom in to the image of your faceclaim and select the light shade of your preferred color. (If you already know how, skip to #5.)

(refer to image above for 4.1-4.2)
4.1. Click the box icon which usually has a default color of black.

4.2. The colors tab is opened and you can select a color. Select a color by clicking and dragging the circle located on the 'circle of colors' and make it lighter by clicking and dragging the circle upwards, this time it's located on the box inside the 'circle of colors.'

(lol at my proclaimed "circle of colors")

5. Select the soft Dip Pen brush, and make sure you turned on the Force Fade. I set both the length of start and end on 40%. I set my brush with a size of 11.8. It's kinda a process of trial and error on setting the right size of the brush to create the highlight curve on the eyes. So yes, settle on what looks nice, hehe. Create the curve on the lower part of the eyes. It shouldn't touch the edges of the pupil of the eyes, and the curve ends at the half part of the pupil. Now select the white color, and make little circles on the natural gleam of the eyes, or if there isn't any, experiment on where it would look good. I usually add two white circles and one is smaller.

6. Choose the Pen (Fade) brush, still on color white. I set its size on 5.0. Again, set the size of your brush depending on what looks good. Make slightly tilted lines at the upper and lower part of the pupil. I did it like this:

(lmao does that lq gif even help)

7. Add a new layer above the image of your faceclaim, and before the layer which has the details we made at step #5. Select the soft Felt Tip Pen. It's better to set it to a smaller size. I set mine to 5.0. Brush the white part of the eye, then make the layer's opacity lower to make it more natural. I set mine to 50%. Also, I usually outline the white part and fill it in. This step is just to define the eyes.

8. Still selecting the layer we used at step #7, apply a FX filter which is the Gaussian Blur and increase the radius to make it look more natural. (if you already know how, skip to #9)

(refer to image above for 8.1-8.4)
8.1. Select the tools button which has a default icon of a brush.

8.2. Click the icon which has the letters FX. This will open the filters tab.

8.3. Scroll through and you will find the Blur section. Select Gaussian Blur.

8.4. The setting of radius will appear, increase it by clicking and dragging the white circle button to the right. Click the check button to apply.

9. Select the Pen (Fade) brush in color white. Set it to a small size. I set mine to 5.0. Use this to make lines on the inner corner/edges of the eyes. This will serve as a highlight. I did it like this:

(lq gif again :< )

10. To add more colors to the eyes, I usually enhance the makeup of my faceclaim, especially if I have a female faceclaim. I added a new layer, set its blending mode to Color Burn, and with the brush called Airbrush (Trapezoid 20%), I brushed it on the outer corner of the eyes. I selected the color on the image itself btw.
