I was sitting in the conference hall with Akame and Mine, waiting on Tatsumi, Lubbock, Leone and Y/n to return, when Lubbock and Leone came running in, “Guys, I….” Lubbock started out of breath, “Might have made a … mistake.” “What did you do this time?” Mine asked, “Tatsumi might have been taken by Esdeath.” Leone said, “Tatsumi was carried off by Esdeath?!” Akame said slamming her hands to the table. “Did she realize he is a member of Night Raid?!” “We didn’t really feel any animosity or bloodthirst though…” Lubbock said, “I don’t really know, but I don’t think it’s likely, she didn’t take Y/n at first, she really ignored him entirely.” “W-w-why would Y/n go with Esdeath,” I started feeling a pain in my heart, “if she just ignored him?” “My guess,” Leone started, “Is that Y/n was going to get some inside information about the Jaegers. But the only way to know for sure would be to go to the palace and see for ourselves. What should we do Acting Boss?” Akame just stood there quietly, I could tell she was distraught, “Don’t say something stupid like, ‘let’s go off and rescue him’ Akame.” Mine said, “You realize the palace is filled with traps and soldiers, right? Even breaking in there at the best of times would be an impossible task! And to top it off, the Jaegers may not know that Tatsumi and Y/n haven’t had their identities discovered in the first place.” “For the time being,” Akame said, “we should move our base further into the mountains.” “Yeah that’s true,” Lubbock said, “This place may be discovered. So… what do we plan to do about Tatsumi and y/n…? Even though rescuing him may be impossible…” “I know,” Akame said cutting him off, “that we lack the means to rush in headlong after them… however! Tatsumi and Y/n are our important comrades! So we will do whatever we can for them!!”

POV: Y/n (Kakoshi)

“And so,” Esdeath said pointing to me and Tatsumi, “These are the newest additions to the Jaegers, Tatsumi and Y/n.” “Howdy.” I said waving to the six people in the room, one of whom being Seryu Ubiquitous. “So you dragged in two members of the populace,” The largest man on the Jaegers said, “Just like that?” “Well sir,” I started, “I mean no offense, but I ain’t regular civilian of the Empire,” I then pointed at him, “I can tell that yer the senior officer, specifically from the Incineration Squad, yer married with a daughter, whom ya love greatly. The young lady to yer right,” I said pointing to a young girl in black, who seemed to be a little younger than Tatsumi, “What about me?” She asked, “Well, Ma’am,” I started, “Yer left handed, ya’ve been an assassin for most of yer life. The blonde man used to be a teacher, but yer class was slaughtered, and you have no clue who the culprit is.” As I said that he looked shocked, “The gentleman with blue hair, is a former naval officer, ya came from the country seekin’ to make it in the military, and ya see yerself as the ‘normal’ one.” “H-how?” The blue haired man asked, “You’ve made your point, Y/n” the largest man said, “I’m sorry to doubt you.” “It’s fine pardner.” I responded.

“And Tatsumi here,” Esdeath said with her face glowing, “Will no longer have to live in poverty. And he isn’t just an extra man for our group either… I felt it. Tatsumi is the one who will become my partner in love.” “So why does he have a collar around his neck, then?” the blue haired man asked. “Because he’s my lover, of course.” Esdeath said, “and I want him to stand out.” “Well,” The blonde said, “if you want him to be your official lover, and not your pet, shouldn’t you remove it in order for there to be a difference?” General Esdeath pondered that idea for a moment, “HMMM,” She said, “that’s certainly true… I’ll remove it. By the way. Are any of you married or have any lovers?” Just then the large man and I raised our hand, “Bols,” Seryu started, “is that true?” “Yes…” He said placing his palms on his chin, “I’ve been married for six years now! I really don’t deserve someone as wonderful as that though!!” “And you Y/n?” Esdeath asked, “Well,” I responded, “I was married fer ten years, but she was killed along with my children a few months back along with the rest of my village.” “Umm.” Tatsumi started, “I’m really happy that you’ve taken a liking to me and all, but… I’m not really all that interested in working for the imperial court, so…” “Fufu.” Esdeath laughed interrupting Tatsumi, “It will likely take a bit of training to get you to be obedient, hmmm.” “Please listen to what’s being said to you!!” Tatsumi shouted. “Tatsumi,” I said placing my hand on his shoulder, “Calm down, I’m ‘ere to help ya.” “Now, now everyone,” Seryu started, “He’s just confused, it’s a lot to take in all at once.”

I then noticed that Tatsumi just realized who she was. “There’s nothing to be afraid of…” Seryu said, “we’re all allies of justice here, so please don’t worry.” “Yer suffrin’ from a concussion,” I started, “Aren’t ya Seryu?” “Yes, how could you tell?” She asked confusingly, “Well, for starters,” I said, “I can make out a scar hidden behind yer bangs, and the fact that ya don’t ‘member Tatsumi nor I from a few weeks ago.” Just then a military soldier, appearing to be a messenger, rushed in the room. “General Esdeath!” he said, “As ordered, I’ve finished the report regarding the area around Gyogan Lake…” “Great…” Esdeath said, “This timing is perfect. You guys, your first big job has come up.”

We then walked into a map room to go over the details of the mission. “We’ve come to learn,” Esdeath started, “about a fortress that’s being inhabited by a group of bandits near Gyogan Lake.” “Of course!” Seryu started, “We suspected that these shameful evil-doers had some refuge in the outskirts of the capital.” “We’re delaying the search for the location of Night Raid for a short while.” Esdeath started, “For now we should deal with enemies we can see.” “And if the enemy should surrender,” Bols started, “What should we do captain?” “Surrender is a tool of the weak…” Esdeath started, “and it’s nature’s course that the weak be removed from the world.” As that was said, Seryu started laughing, “to be able to slaughter evil-doers before they can commit evil… I am… truly glad I’ve become a part of this group.” “You may exterminate them to your heart’s content.” Esdeath said, “Thank you ma’am” Seryu said gleefully. “Genral,” I started, “Wouldn’t it be better if we kept those who surrender as pris’ners, there could be a chance we’d get a bit of info from ‘em.” “Not a chance.” Esdeath said, “There is no information we need from them. I have one thing I’d like to tell you before we move out. Each of you will be required to eliminate dozens of people. This is the type of work we will be doing from this point forward. Are you fully prepared for that?” “I am a soldier.” Bols started, placing his flamethrower on his back, “I follow orders. Even for this type of work… Even if I means must kill.” “I’m the same,” The black haired girl said holding her katana to her side, “This is merely practice at following orders. This is how I’ve always thought of it.” “I---” The blue haired man started, looking at his sword, “---Was able to join the navy due to the patronage of a certain great man --- If I were to ask him how I may repay that great favor. He would tell me ‘Just do your best and fight for the sake of your country, that’s all you need to do.’ So I can do this! Even if it means my life!!” As he said that, he placed his sword on his back. Just then, the blonde closed his book, “For the sake of making my desires come to fruition,” he said, “I wish to rise higher and higher. Even if it means I can’t do the most purest of deeds. Seen in that way, I wish nothing more than to proceed with this mission.” “I am the husband to a murdered wife,” I started, drawing my revolver, “father to a butchered fam’ly, so I may’swell try and help others to make the world a better place.” “How about you, Doctor?” Esdeath asked. “Hmm.” The strangest man said, fixing his coat, “My guiding principle is quite simple. I knew it.” He started, “That unfathomable strength, that ice-like cruelty, ahh--- it’s as if a goddess was descending from heaven!!! That style is without equal! I wanted nothing more than to study you!” “I see,” Esdeath started, “No doubts among you all then… That’s good, Then it’s time to head out! Let’s go, Tatsumi.” “Eh… me too?!” Tatsumi asked as the Jaegers and I started to leave the room. “As a substitute member,” Esdeath started, “it’ll be good for you to see the abilities of your fellow teammates.” “Tatsumi,” I started, “I know ya may not like the situation, but we’re fine fer now.” “Before we go Lord Esdeath,” the doctor started, “I would like to see the skills of our newest official member, Y/n.” “We don’t have the time for that.” Esdeath said. “Ma’am it’ll take less ‘an a minute.” I said grabbing five apples and a marker.

We then stepped outside, to a little clearing I handed the apples to a member of the Jaegers, and gave the marker and my hat to the doctor, “Now, all y’all I gave an apple to, I want ya to put it on yer head, an’ doc, I want ya to mark my hat once, an’ on the Gen’ral’s que, I want ya to throw my hat into the air an’ I do my magic.” I said pulling out my revolver and spinning the cylinder. “Throw his hat Doctor Stylish.” Esdeath said. “Yes milord.” Doctor Stylish said throwing up my hat. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Everyone heard as I fired my revolver into the apples and my hat. The apples fell onto the ground along with a lock of blue hair from the navel Jaeger, who had an extremely shocked face as if he had just looked death in the face. “H-h-h-how?” He asked as I picked up my hat. “Impressed Doc?” I asked putting my hat on. “Very. I would love to… experiment” he replied. “Ya try anything with me, an’ ya will end up like them apples.” I said pointing my empty revolver it him. We then left for Gyogan Lake.
