Pritha was bathing the small child, who was yet to be named yet everyone had taken a liking to the name Kamalnayani, she was barely a few days old yet when she opened her eyes, people around her felt their hearts melting.

"O Kamalnayani, my precious gem, are you all ready? I have thought of a name for you." Pritha said, while dressing the child in softest silk, "But if you don't like it, I apologise for it in advance."

She hugged the kid, caressing her cheeks softly, "May the Lord of Three World bestow upon all happiness to you, and may you be saved from the eyes of evil." Pritha gently put a small dot of kohl to protect her.

While Pritha was praying for the child, the sages Mridul and Mukul also had requested the Lord to hide the divine signs of Swarnsheel Suta and keep them hidden until it was time for them to be shown. This was done to protect her from the Naagdatt.

Pritha did not notice, but Kamalnayani's feet glowed golden and auspicious marks on her feet glowed red before disappearing. In great affection, everyone around her had failed to notice the divinity.

The ceremony hall was decorated with vibrant flowers and soothing fragrances, Swarnsheel and his son Saarthak were already present when Pritha entered with the child. She once again looked at the King, asking through eyes.

Swarnsheel nodded in affirmation, he wouldn't have asked her to name his child if he himself was very sure.

The priest directed her to take the child and sit in the centre of the hall. She followed every instruction dutifully.

"Now, take this golden sieve and whisper the name of the child three times in her ear." The priest explained, "And if the child doesn't cry throughout, it means the child has accepted this name."

Pritha nodded, excitedly she took the sieve. Smiling at the child, she whispered the name three times. The child did not cry, instead the lips slightly curled up, as if it were a smile.

Taking this as her approval, Pritha looked up to everyone and spoke aloud her name, "By the grace of the Mahadev, the daughter of King Swarnsheel and Queen Chandrabhaga is named," Pritha took a dramatic pause and stared at the eager faces of everyone, especially her brother Saarthak was tugging the garment of his father.

Finally Pritha announced, "Nitiksha." Everyone happily congratulated the King and blessed the Princess wholeheartedly.

"Princess Nitiksha,"

"Nitiksha is the name of both Mata Lakshmi and Mata Durga, blessed is our Princess to be named after them," The priest said, jubilant after hearing the name.

Pritha smiled at the child, who was happy, she sighed, though she couldn't have her own kids, Paramatma had other plans, he still sent a child in her fate.

She pinched Nitiksha's cheeks, "I am going to give all the good things in the world," Nitiksha stared at Pritha with curious eyes, as if wondering if it were possible.

Pritha's entire life now revolved around the little girl with big coppery red eyes. She didn't know what she would do if Nitiksha was not a part of life, every thing she did was for Nitiksha. She ate healthy, so that she could be healthy to take care of Nitiksha, she dressed well to appear attractive to her.

But her love definitely didn't stop her from scolding or punishing Nitiksha, like when she had refused to eat just for a toy, not that a toy was out of reach, but to teach her to accept no, Pritha had denied the toy. And that had Nitiksha turn her eyes teary, but Pritha did not give in to her demands, instead explaining why one could not have everything they wanted, why there was always a limit to things.

Eventually she gave the toy discreetly but made sure that the lesson was taught.

Spoiling kids was different, but spoiling them rotten? That would ruin their lives, and there was nothing she would do if it spoiled Nitiksha's life.

Nitiksha had just learnt crawling and Pritha was elated, for her child was growing. But that also meant trouble, like crawling over in the palace away from the protective eyes of her mother.

Pritha had a hard time following her everywhere, but she wouldn't have it otherwise. She encouraged the ever energetic child to do more.

"Ita," Nitiksha blabbered while crawling away from her mother who was supposedly catching her, Pritha stared at her in surprise, this was her first word. "Say once again," Pritha smiled at the child, kneeling down in front of her blocking her way, Nitiksha started to randomly and deliberately fall out of her embrace, trying to be free to crawl and play the game with her mother.

"Please say it once again, I want to hear your voice," Pritha spoke in a low and soft tone, dabbing her cheeks lightly, Nitiksha pouted, resting on her shoulder, "Itha," This time it sounded more clear.

Pritha's eyes turned watery as she realised the first word of Nitiksha was her name, she hadn't expected this to be her first word.

"I fear someone will put an evil eye on you." Pritha said while putting yet another black kohl dot on the back of ear, she rubbed her nose against Nitiksha's to which her daughter giggled.

"Itha," Nitiksha spoke once again, and then it went like a chain, knowing only one word, all she did the whole day was speak the same words. And Pritha listened to the same word again and again with the same enthusiasm, not getting tired of listening to the same rant for the thousandth time.
