After all approval and disapproval, all others left the place except kathir and mullai...
Just like every other time, they moved to their favorite place in the entrance of the house...
Kailaayam was a two storey house with a lovely garden, a eye catching fountain with light decorations and a majestic swing in the veranda making it a stunner especially in the nights...
They sat in the swing enjoying the night time with kathir feeding mullai...

As mullai moved closer to kathir and leaned on him with a pout, he dropped the plate to his lap and embraced her soon still continuing to feed...
It was not just the food...
Setting her hair that flew in the air, wiping her mouth, helping her drink water, in short he took care of her just like a baby...
All the confusions and ideas about his new found love flew away in her nearness and he was her kathir who used to pamper her unconditionally...

Did they knew they were admired by a pair of eyes, full of love and a heart, full of wish...
Nope and Yes...

It was pandian...
Even before murugan parvathi's marriage, they had been talks if a girl is born she is all kathir's...
It might be something that came as a normal talk but it came true and to their surprise, kathir and mullai were very much attached to eachother right from childhood...
Now he could sense all that attachment was turning to attraction...
Though others were unaware of it, he could feel it well but didnt open it up even to lakshmi...
After the mishap happened in jaganathan case, he didnt want loose talks in terms of marriage in childhood...
Let the right time come and right things happen...
He had a strong feel it would happen...
That feel made his heart flutter with beautiful thoughts about their future...
Future with them together...
He wished them sit in the same swing with their kids blessed with all happiness and peace...

Off all, he was still a man with old age thoughts, beliefs and practices...
He couldn't see the closeness between them normally after knowing the attraction wave running between them...
Deep inside it angered and annoyed him more...
He wanted to have a word with kathir on it...
But then...

Both kathir and mullai squealed in delight but didn't make any effort to distance from eachother nor roll eyes as if they are caught...
Their faces showed pure excitement of seeing him and nothing more...
It made pandian understand though they have the attraction for age, deep down it is pure love that they held for the other from childhood...
Knowing the intimacy they shared was pure, his anger erased in a wink and made him smile at his children...

K : iva pasikala pasikala nu ivalo late panita paa... tho... ipo than sapida vechen...

They parted away making space for pandian and he sat in the middle with hands on both of them...

Pan : chinna kutti ku azhaga illaathathu yetha iruka... amsama iruku...

K (proudly) : sonen la...

M (smiling) : hmmm...

Both kathir and mullai had oodles of things to share with pandian who patiently listened to them, encouraging them for few things, scolding for few things, felt happy for few and  expressed his disagreement in few...
As the time passed happilly for pandian with his most favorite duo, mullai slept off in his shoulders while speaking giving a grin to the other two...

Pan : thangam... chinna kutti thoongita... naan avala poi paduka vekkaren... vaasa kadhava saathitu poi padu... nerama elunthurukanum...

As pandian got up and lifted sleeping mullai, kathir's wish to have her in his arms awakened and without thinking he asked his father to help...

Pan (amusingly) : yaaru neeya...

K : paa... athelam neraya thadavai thookiruken... poi paduka vechuruken...  neenga avala kudunga... ungala vida nalla paathupen...

Pan mindvoice : payaluku thairiyatha paaru... petha appan kitaye yevalo thenavetta pesaraan... ivan polachukuvaan... ivana chumma vida kudaathe...

Pan : haan... apadi solriya... munnadiyum ippovum nee ivakita ore madhiri than iruke na tharalaama thookitu po... enaku onnum illaa...

Kathir stood dumbfounded as he understood his father knew his little secret from his piercing look...Sametime he thanked his stars to see his father having a subtle naughty smile that symbolically said he is acknowledging his wishes... But still he couldnt face him casually as something kept him dumb looking at the floor...

Pan : yena da bathil eh kaanom...

K (low voice) : athu... neengale thookittu ponga paaa...

Pan : apadi vaa vazhiku...
