It was an early sunny spring morning in Yokohama, Japan. A young 22 years old ginger was sleeping peacefully in his bed until his dog, a brown and white husky, jumped up onto the silk red sheets and started licking his face. He woofed and stuck his nose under the cover, and the young male whined as he woke up.

"Ugh. Alright, alright. I'm up Aki." Chuuya says petting him. Chuuya reached over and felt for the edge of the bed, and he slid over and placed his feet on the ground. Aki jumped off the bed and he put his head under Chuuya's hand. He moved his hand to his collar and held on to him. Aki led Chuuya to the door of his bedroom, and Chuuya grabbed his walking stick before he left the room. Aki led Chuuya to the kitchen and Aki went to go eat, while Chuuya felt around in the fridge for items to make breakfast. Chuuya heard the door click open and he smiled as he heard the familiar footsteps walking across the wood floor,

Chuuya lived with a man named Dazai Osamu, he was a detective currently working for the Armed Detective Agency. Dazai and Chuuya had been best friends since elementary school, and even after Chuuya became blind Dazai never once left his side.

"Good morning." Chuuya smiled.

"Good morning." Dazai smiled, rubbing his back. "You're up early. Everything okay?"

"Yeah. I'm good. Aki woke me up." Chuuya chuckled. "But that's okay. I figured you'd be hungry after your overnight shift."

"I could definitely use a hot cooked meal. Instant ramen is okay. But it definitely is absolutely nothing compared to your cooking." Dazai praised.

Chuuya laughed. "You're such a suck up."

"Am not."

"Are too!" Chuuya and Dazai said laughing.

"...I hate that I can't see your face anymore..." Chuuya said sadly as he was cutting bell peppers, and using his hands to know how far away his hand was from the knife.

"I know... I haven't changed much. I'm still ugly." Dazai jokes.

Chuuya laughs. "You're nowhere near ugly." Chuuya was reaching for a tomato and couldn't find it. Dazai gently moved it closer to him.

"Ah there it is!" Chuuya said, grabbing it. He sniffed it and smiled as he could smell it was a tomato.

"What are you making?"

"I thought you'd enjoy some omelets, bacon, and toast."

"Need help?"

"No. I've got it."

"Okay." Dazai smiled. Dazai always tried to let Chuuya be extremely independent. He didn't want to make Chuuya feel like he was helpless. Because he's not. Dazai knows he is smart and he knows he can overcome this. And the things Dazai did to help Chuuya, what he didn't know wouldn't hurt.
