"How well do I know you? Is it a real question?" chuckled Taehyung.

"Yeah. Legit," replied Ashley.

"Well, I know you enough."

"It's a short time, you know?" Ashley chuckled this time. "First, one day at my cottage, another day we were trying cycling."

"Then comes a whole morning at the breakfast cafe in Copacabana, and two weeks worth chatting over texts," Taehyung filled in.

"And there came you, in my doorstep," Finished Ashley. "Don't you think it's too short of a time to getting to know each other?"

"But a whole year flew in between Ash. And there was not a single day I didn't miss you. You can call it unrealistic, but I think I was meant to find you."

Ashley smiled by herself. She was flustered. She was thankful that they were not in a video call. Taehyung just got off the practice and was on his way home.

"I kept thinking about you when I left. I got you in Finland, in Brazil. And even if you didn't want it, I saw you in Korea too. You can't just go and leave me, Ash. You are my destiny and no matter where you go, I'll end up finding you," Taehyung's voice was slow, full of passion.

"I did too," Ashley whispered shyly.

"What? Missed me?" Taehyung chuckled.

"Don't think that highly of yourself!" Ashley smiled fully knowing that the truth.

"You already know my everything. Everybody knows it," suddenly Taehyung sounded a little down. He sometimes hated this life under a microscope. Did he have anything special that nobody knows?

"Does everybody knows that you can name all the stars in a night sky?" Ashley smiled softly. "Does everyone knows that you love death metal?  That you cried reading the kite runner?"

" You know."

"And I want to know more, you are much more than what everyone knows about the great Kim Taehyung," Ashley chuckled.

"And I want to know your every day, Ash," Taehyung was softer than ever. "I want to know that person who lends earphones to any random stranger on the metro, the person who has the beautiful ocean in her eyes and the most calming smile."

"Sneaking in compliments?" Ashley chuckled, still flustered.

"You are wrong, Ash. I do know you," smiled Taehyung.
"I knew you are that person I wanted to get close to the moment you cried listening to my song that very first night. I never felt more trusted being someone in front of whom you could just rip open your vulnerability so suddenly."

"Is that so?" Ashley smiled.

"I want to know everything about you Ash. Every little detail you do every day. I want to hear you whining over your spilled coffee, bickering over extra night duties, another funny suspension, anything," Taehyung's voice was deep, soft.

"So you want me to get suspended again?" Ashley giggled.

"Maybe?" Taehyung laughed back.
"I want to know your day, Ash. I want to know what makes you smile, what breaks you, what makes you dream again and again, what makes you push further, what makes you, "you"."

"I want that too," Ashley sighed softly.

"I wish I could say these looking at your eyes, holding your hands," Taehyung sighed again. "But here I  am! 9946 km and 6072 miles away."

"Did you just google it?"

"How'd else would I know?" Taehyung laughed, "It's a damn long distance!"

Ashley looked at the door as it opened after a knock on it suddenly.

Sharon peeked again.
Seeing Ashley on the phone, she mouthed, "Is it a good time?"

Ashley mouthed, "wait," raising one index.

"I have to go," she spoke on the phone.

"Miss you Ash," Taehyung mumbled.

"Miss you too," Ashley smiled and put down the phone and looked at Sharon, "What is it?"

"I have a question." Sharon was grumpy all of a sudden.

"What?"

" Why do I always end up at the wrong time?" Sharon was irritated,
" why its me always?"

"What?" Ashley laughed.

"I am being serious here!" Sharon crossed her arms on her chest.

"Ok ok....why did you come? My appointments are all finished for today!" Ashley said raising her brow towards Sharon.

"Here, these are your surgery schedule for next week. And here's the patients' profiles." Sharon handed her some files. "I brought those if you wanted to do some digging before. Just in case."

"I appreciate that. Thank you, Sharon," Ashley took the files from her hands.

"And if you have time...." Sharon hesitated.

"Go ahead, you can tell me," Ashley smiled at her."Why don't you Take a seat?"

"It's about my exam. Exam of the attending physician here?" She looked at her curiously.

"Yeah, I remember. What about it? Are you nervous?" Ashley gave her a reassuring smile.

"It's first thing in the next week. And I still have some confusion. You worked with Dr. Miller as he was your residency director. Can you give me some tips about him? He is gonna be in my viva board," Sharon blurted out anxiously.

"I can certainly do something!" Ashley smiled playfully at her. "Come to me with the books after my shift, I'll show you the most important topics for him. Sounds good?"

"You are a lifesaver, Dr. Ruth!!" Sharon exclaimed relaxing the tensed-up expression. "Gotta go now. I have around again."

"See you," Ashley bade goodbye to her.

Sharon stopped opening the door and turned again to her, "why do you have pictures of that BTS guy on your desk?"

Ashley forcefully restrained a smile seeing the photo Maya shoved into one photo frame on her desk.
" why? I can't?"

"You should put a couple of pictures there. Not some cute crushes like a teenager."

"Crush?" Ashley chuckled amusingly.

"What would your boyfriend think if he knows there is a photo of some guy crush rather than his?"

"Believe me, he'll be flustered!" Ashley tried to stop her smile.

"Will he now?" Sharon raised a brow at her.

"You have no idea!" chuckled Ashley.

"Put a picture of him." Sharon winked at her. "let us see him too."

"Sure," Ashley smiled mysteriously,
"Will do, buddy!"
